That is a very good point, who knows if human beings are even capable of understanding/comprehending the answer to this question. It's almost impossible for us to think about the infinite, so would a higher being not fall into that catagory? :S

What is the obsession in America with using Farenheit? USE CELSIUS!!! Ugh >_> When we were in Cyprus it didn't drop below about 28 at night and usually topped 40.

In Northern Ireland at the moment is slightly cloudy and dry.

And just for the record the weather today is slightly sarcastic with a good chance of A indifference or B disinterest in what the critics say :3

I love thunder and lightening, but my sister dislikes it rather intensely and I had to take her round trick-or-treating because she was too scared >_>.

That reminds me we haven't had lightening in like a year T_T

I have never broken a bone (that my parent's have told me, they tend to keep my medical history a secret from me for some reason >_>). I have staved three fingers in my left hand playing volleyball with a basketball and I also got my middle finger (I think...) caught in a locked car door x.x

Oh another time I went down a curb on my bike and fell off and landed on the handle bar. I had a circular bruise on my chest for quite a while >_>.

My brother (Cloaked-Schemer) and I also nearly drowned at a beach one time.

But no, no broken bones =D

The only way I can think of as to how it could be explained through the 6-day creation of the Earth, is that God created it to look like that =/. That in itself is pretty sketchy. FYI I am not supporting the Creationist view, just offering a possible explaination.

The only problem with this argument is there is no definitive way of knowing the absolute truth once and for all, barring travelling back in time (which is slightly theoretically possible but I won't go into that >_>). This meaning that this debate will go on forever without end.

If we take the creationist's point of view then some form of higher being created the universe. But this leads to the question of where did this higher being exist to create the universe? As before the universe was created there was nothing (not even time) the higher being would need some form of dimensional space to exist in. This means that there would be another universe that the higher being exists in. BUT, then who/what created that universe? This then leads to an infinite chain of universes with no end. Not very helpful.

As for the Evolusionist view there is, of course, the fossil evidence, the background radiation and apparant expansion of the universe that hints towards an event such as the Big Bang and similarities between species showing a possible progression from one to the next over the ages. There is also probably more but I can't think of any and I'm tired and have a dentist appointment in twenty minutes =/.

The atoms themselves wouldn't get smaller as such. Either atoms would be 'bleed' off so the person would be made of less atoms but in the same ratio/proportion or they would simply occupy a smaller space i.e. become compressed.

Really it's probably impossible, although while you sleep you get taller by like an inch because your muscles relax and then when you wake in the morning you shrink, does that count? :P

I am almost certain that I read somewhere that that date was predicted by the Aztecs. Although it says the world will end, it can also be interpreted as the world as we know it will end. Meaning the world may change beyond recognition but it may not necessarily be a bad thing.

The study of the end of world/humanity is called Eschatology. The thing is there are so many ways that humanity could end in the 5 billion years till the end of the Earth, the future doesn't bode well for us =/. But I'm not going to live past the next century (and there's certainly a lot that could happen to me in that time) I highly doubt I will live to see the end of humanity. But it would be pretty cool to see the end of things, make life a bit more interesting =D.

Really the way to increase the chances of humanity surviving is to colonise space and spread people out as far as possible so as to lower the risk of one event wiping out us all.

But then there is the question: Is surviving enough? I mean, if we found a way to survive past the Heat Death of the universe, would it be worth it? Humanity would be stagnated, nothing would ever change again. It then comes down to is the purpose in life simply to survive or is there more to it.

Lol I can't think of anything more >_>

I read a book called Time (science-fiction) and it was mind-blowing and all based on the future of mankind to the end of time. It worked with the future of us colonizing the galaxy, then as the stars start dying they created new stars at the edges of the galaxy. Then when there was only black holes left they farmed them for energy. Then they arranged the black holes around a super-massive black hole and still survived. Then when heat-death occured they spread their conciousness accross the sparse interstellar medium, conserving and hoarding what little energy they had by thinking the same thoughts over and over again (remembering) and not inputting any new data. Then it turned out that that was the wrong future, and the Carter Catastrophe (which is a real theory/equation) which predicts the end of humanity came true etc etc.

Basically there's not much point in thinking about the future, especially that far in the future, as there are far too many possibilities although all limited by the laws of physics.

Further reading on the Carter Catastrophe

As you can see it is rather sketchy and relies on a number of variables and can give many answers.

    Basically.....................STOP WORRYING!
