People in my school like stealing my red pens, they last about 2 days before disappearing >_> Then there's all the people who apparantly can't afford lined paper. I went though so many lined file pads last year *has nightmares*
Yeah I saw it on eBay, but thought..............nah I won't bother bidding.......
Burn Burn - Lostprophets
Stereotypes are based on the most extreme actions of any member of the group, which tends to always be a very small minority of the group. The whole group then gets classed that way and that's where the problem begins. In many cases stereotypes end up being engrained in society and passed down through generations, ending up being very hard to shake off or change. As has been mentioned, people stereotype because it's what the human brain does. It looks for patterns etc in the world around it in order to make sense of the chaos. So it looks for common traits between people to make more sense of humanity. It also makes talking about people easier by lumping someone into a common group.
The main problem is that not everyone in any one county is of a certain religion so putting up things like the 10C outside public schools and courtrooms is technically discrimination against all other faiths (and non-faiths). As for my problems with the Church, I think that it is wrong to try and convert people actively, it doesn't address it's violent and sometimes bloody past (a lot of which has been supressed if the Church didn't agree with it), religion is used as a reason for people to do what they want (and I'm not saying all) and there are very few (if any >_>) true followers of any faith, making most hypocrites. As for God not helping, to me that means God is uncaring/indifferent/cruel/not everywhere at once/not all powerful/non-existant. Forcing us to live on Earth if heaven exists is cruel enough as it is with. I created a new saying "For God so loved the world, that he wiped all knowledge of Him from the minds of humanity so that they could get on with their lives in peace."
Yes ad-aware and spy-bot search and destroy are also good, also zonealarm for a firewall.

Apparantly it could be property developers trying to clear forests and then the fire got out of control. Apparantly the fires span Greece (from the news but probably exaggerated). ^This is a satelite image of Greece showing the fires. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/6966154.stm
If it was big enough it would shatter the Earth maening the atmosphere would escape killing ALL life. Except maybe bacteria and other microscopic organisms. It wouldn't have to be an asteroid, it could be a comet (far deadlier as they are hard to detect and travel much faster), a black hole (also very hard to detect and would probably wipe out the whole solar system if it got too close =/), a freak radiation wave/storm/cloud travelling through space (possibly caused by a supernova) and an array of other things. Really the most dangerous thing is ourselves. Then there are natural environmental cycles which could kill us off, or we may not become extint until the end of the universe we (i.e. our generation) will probably never know.
I have always believed that if a school is run by the state then it should be as neutral as possible. If it has to be politically neutral, why shouldn't it be religiously neutral? I think that force feeding children religion is wrong as how are they supposed to make an unbiased and informed decision on what faith they want to follow? Also, if religion is going to be taught ALL religions should be mentioned, otherwise it is biased and therefore unfair.
Finally something decent >_>
