It in itself (i.e. having a copy on your computer isn't) but most of what you do with it is. As it is peer to peer software any file can be shared with anyone in the world, meaning that a law somewhere is bound to be broken (mainly copyright laws). I'm not even sure talking about it is allowed on the site =/

I think what you are comparing (or maybe a better word) would be between truth and ignorance. The saying goes "Ignorance is bliss" and I would have to whole-heartedly agree. I know that I have strict coursework deadlines in the upcoming months, I'll have to learn how to drive, get a part-time job, pay for college/uni, get a house and all the while worrying about what's going on in the world. When you are a child, you don't care about knowing things, you prefer ignorance (even if it is not a choice). But now, I thirst for knowledge, I mean I go on to Wikipedia and read up on thoretical and experimental physics because I'm interested in things like that. But, physics paints a very bleak picture of a rather cold and lifeless universe with an inevitable Heat Death at the end. Many times I've wished I never knew, because you can't forget things no matter how hard you try it will always be there. But, at the same time I like knowing things. It makes me glad to know that I know things =/ It's hard to describe... Sorry that didn't really say anything there >_>
I don't hate Christians, but I just feel that so many Christians that I have experienced have been so bigoted and self-righteous that it's almost a stereotype -__- From my experience of Christianity (and from reading it's history) I have seen it cause and spread hate, fear, destruction and cause damage to society. Many Christians are nice, many people I know are Christian and I have nothing against it. I just have a problem when people use their religion as an excuse or, even worse, try to convert me >_> But don't get me wrong, I can still see the good that Christianity (and other religions) have done for the world. I know the good it can do for people going through tough times, and I know it is comforting to know at the back of your mind that God is watching over you. Another problem I have with Christianity is that we may never know what true Christianity is. It has been so distorted and twisted over the years, I don't know if it could still be called Christianity as it was way back when. In my mind religion provides a moral code for society, but even in that it is too rigid, leading to taboos and a slow down in society's development. It also leads to set ways of thinking which slow down advancement. But I will say this again, I do not hate Christianity, I hate people who are bigoted and ignorant etc. who may happen to also be Christian.

Wow, that is a very good point. But, does that mean that vibrations received by a microphone aren't sound? The whole point of this 'argument' is that it is philosophical. This means that we aren't necessarily talking about reality exactly. It also means that you don't assume, because knowing, for example, China exists is an assumption based on facts given to you. If you think about it, what you perceive as reality is what your senses tell you, whether it's vibrations reaching your ears or photons hitting your eyes, all of which you assume to be true. Woops slightly off-topic :)
