Sephiroth is player killing again. *nod nod* I play too many RPGs.
I'll go ahead and move this to Current Events since it does more belong there. I saw it on some mag cover at the store but didn't really care other than to think 'haha, that's kind of hot' and 'hope this means she ditched Paris Hilton'...because sorry, but I can't stand that woman. It seems every celeb she hangs out with ends up in rehab while she skirts off fine. I almost ponder if it's not some sadistic trait in her to ruin the lives of these other people. Maybe she figures knocking them off will make people see that she has talent...but I digress. Lindsay hopefully will stay on the straight and narrow now and know when she is partying too much versus just having some darn good times.
Sora doesn't look emo there. I wear black all the time and I'm not emo. Maybe the thing I have for skulls though says I'm kind of goth. <.< but Sora looks happy there! And I want to see more emo/drama versions of KH-vids. This is kind of fun. Maybe we should have a competition on who can make the most 'dramatic' skin for fun.
Well, I stand corrected and learned something new! Okay, so well, now we know that S.Mods and Admins can see who gives out rep. People in the red like me can't. Rawr.
Only admins can do that and it's done for reasons of safety. A couple of those reasons I mentioned already. Members do want some protection from abusers of rep. So if no one could see, then no one could help them. We who don't have the ability don't really get -told- who is derepping us but sometimes we can sure guess if it becomes a habit. Admins do keep that information secret a majority of the time. i.e. If some people are ganging up and derepping. If one person is derepping for a post and just leaves nasty comments and the post itself isn't bad. If someone is derepping and signing other people's names to the deed, which basically, we all of course don't have time to 'validate' if someone really did the deed or not but if we are suspicious, we should say something. If someone is derepping out of animosity and not because the posts are bad. It may start out that someone derepped a post but when after a time they keep derepping someone out of animosity, that too is wrong. A person can 'deserve' to suffer one thing deserved, but if it keeps going after, it's just done out of revenge. No one learns that way so yes, someone should complain and get help in that case. If we are going to have rep, unfortunately, there will be people that abuse it so members do have a right to get some help with it. If no one could see who did acts, no one would get warnings for attacking others that way. Rep really is meant to be a tool to use to grade posts either favorably or not so favorably and isn't meant as a form of revenge, which seems rather commonplace these days. That's why I highlighted some attention towards it. Hope that clears this up and lets you know that no one besides Admins can even see who does it. However, after a while, we all know our 'haters' so it isn't so hard to tell even if the person doesn't leave a name.
It means she outdid you and now you must have a competition and make us a new skin for the board with more drama emo things on it. (Disclaimer: This just means I want to see more funny drama skins of the board.)
Thanks Orange. I <3 you too. <3 <3 And Shiki, I saw that. :) I'm cool in black! Black is my favorite color. <3
I agree. The movie was sensational and didn't seem so much a 'comic' movie as it was a real work of art in a way. The actors and director etc really worked their butts off on it. I'm also glad it was as long as it was. I tend to hate too short of movies that just gloss over things. There was the scene where the commissioner got his promotion and the Joker clapped. That clap was actually something Heath tossed in there and surprised the others and they ended up leaving it in and continued shooting. I thought that was an interesting bit of trivia to share. All of the actors really researched their roles and it really is a shame that Heath isn't around to see how well people received his version of The Joker. I loved Jack Nicholson's Joker too, but this, just for the pure madness of it was more exciting. The pencil trick was 'predictable' in a way but also just very funny. Did anyone else feel a kind of guilt when they laughed at what The Joker was doing at times? I did and just that alone merits some serious credit there.
Not anymore. I'm on to you now. The habit will be kicked! Not that I'm going to honestly stalk you through the site or something. >.>
Yeah, but you also didn't use 'your' wrong. :) You are free of worries....this time. heh heh
Thanks guys! I'm glad you see it as not a rant and what the purpose of it is. I want to see the grade on it if it's used in your class DA. lol DestinyStar - I can only hope things will get better. Sometimes it takes work but I do think -most- of us are tired of some things so hopefully we can start coming together. Something_Epic - It happens but try to not take it to heart. You seem cool to me so keep hanging around. :)
Yeah...I have to ask that too. Why can't English native speakers tell the difference between 'your' and 'you're'? Zomg, that's so a rant there that could go on for hours. :)
I really don't like drama. Anyone here who knows me at all knows that I'd much rather come to the boards and do 'happy' things, chilling out with friends, and trying to make this place a better one for all of us. So, I don't write this as a -rant- but more as something for us all to consider and yes, it may be lengthy, but I ask you to read it if you would, and if you want to respond and chat it out, let's do that. I like to believe that we can repair some things even if at times we can't fix our natures that make us go and be obnoxious, rotten, thin-skinned, emotional, etc now and then. We're all prone to it. We're human. The things I'm bringing up are important to me because they harm members here, whether staff or not. In the end we are -all- members, so I ask that we all keep that in mind. Drama can never totally die off, but if you are as sick of it as I am, please read on and forgive me for a long winded essay. I love you guys or I wouldn't bother. If someone voices a rant - Well, this obviously says that something is wrong. Should the person need to do it? Are they just trying to stir the pot? In most cases I will say they aren't and are simply drawing attention to the matter that is bugging them, whether or not others want to hear it or not. The person may be angry, frustrated, upset, near tears, in tears, or even just calm and wanting to say 'this crap isn't right'. If they can at least write it so we can all understand it, we have the right to read it or move on. What should you do if someone rants? Well, respond or don't. When you respond, remember that the person on the other computer is just as real as you are. There's an issue going on and the person wants it resolved. If he/she is going about it the wrong way, feel free to say so, but keep the flaming down. They are 'venting' so obviously tossing more wood into the fire means that you are going to just make them angrier and cause more drama. - The person writing the rant - If you wrote the rant, expect some criticism. Even if you are courteous enough to leave off people's names (which you should do because we don't need flame wars), expect some people to get upset. Don't 'attack' them for it but instead debate on it. Keep in mind that the other people may not agree with you and others will. Just because someone doesn't agree doesn't mean they hate you. People who are aggressive - Consider here that you guys are being too hostile to others and it's causing pointless fights. A lot of you just want thin-skinned people to stop being wussy and suck up some pain, but it's having a counter effect and you are getting slammed for it. Think about toning down some, please and being considerate. You may not feel that person deserves it, but really, no one needs to be suffering for things they did some time ago. Let things go easier. If you don't care though, which some don't, and are just having fun poking at people, now and then that's fine. But really, don't dig a knife in and twist and turn. Have some kind of restraint. A joke is a joke. Going over the top is where things are getting bad. Thin-skinned people - you've got to toughen up and stop taking everything so seriously. You've got some deep emotions but despite that, this is a forums and most people don't -hate- each other. If someone actually does hate someone else, think on why you hate them. If a person is just an annoyance, ignore the person. If they continue to be a problem, PM a Mod, S.Mod, Admin. You will face worse in the really real world than ever here. I've been insulted quite a few times but ah well. There are some things in my nature I'm not willing to compromise despite how annoyed it may make some people. It's my choice to remain doing what I am and I accept I can't make everyone on this planet happy. You make choices too to be as you are. We've got to understand that not everyone is going to be happy with us all the time. It doesn't mean people hate you so please consider that every time you declare you -hate- someone else. Hate is a strong word and it's just not worth it to have on a forums especially. These people can't hurt you -that- bad if you don't let them. There are more controlling factors here that will step in the way than in real life. Hell, some of us face worse from our families than we will ever face here. My biggest advice to you is to try to lighten up and if you have a problem, read below and hopefully it will help you get 'better' help than you are receiving now. About Mods, S.Mods, Admins. - Guys, we're people too and just members like you but with some responsibilities. We have different personalities and cares. If you PM us, think on who you are PM'ing so that you can get the best reaction you want. If you want a straight out blunt answer that may upset you but get you to the heart of the matter, PM the ones who are stronger voiced and call themselves asses at times. :) If you want actions or opinions from others who are less blunt but still straight up, PM those people, and if you want someone sincere and who will go out of his/her way to help you, PM that sort. We're all not the same and for various situations, some of us may be better at others to handle your particular situation at the time when at another time, you may want someone else to do it. We're different, so use the difference to your advantage, if you get what I mean. The de-rep wars - Seriously, people...de-rep is meant for -you- as an individual to see a post and decide that it is a crappy post meriting the choice for you to derep. It's not high school. Members across this board have been complaining lately that they are getting ganged up on and derepped or being even derepped numerous times by one person for something that happened months ago. De-rep is NOT for revenge. It also is not for getting into high school groups and ganging up on one person to derep them as much as possible. This seriously starts off wars where others then go get their friends etc. Do we want to stop drama or raise it off of petty revenge? If someone is wrong and you feel that way, derep. Don't go get your 5 or more buddies to go in and do the same thing. Also, don't keep derepping a person over and over again because you have animosity to that person. That's not what it's about. Lastly, PLEASE those who derep...think and don't go putting someone else's name on the derep because you are too chicken to put your -own- nick there. If you aren't responsible enough to say 'I derepped you' why should someone else on the boards take the fall for you? This has been happening too much for comfort lately and wow...it's just really cold. I have never bothered with derep and prefer to just tell a person direct I think their post sucked, but derep is there for that purpose, so use it -for- that please. And don't bring some other unsuspecting member into the battle. That's really brutal and what if that person gets derepped suddenly because you did that? Do you hate that person so much you'd let them take the fall for you? Please, please please...think about it. It's really very unfair to that member. So yeah, that's what I have to say on what I see and I hope even if you can't endure the whole essay, you took away something positive. I see people now are even joking about it because the drama is just taking up too much and don't we have other crap to talk about? I sure hope so. Sorry again for the essay here but there's just no easy way to say some of these things shortly for me. Let's try though to make something work and chill on attitudes, getting offended, and well, being offensive. I sure hope the next KH games come out soon so people have more things to do and chat about. Drama only seems to crop up like this when we are lagging between things. There's an old saying of 'treat others as you wish to be treated' and I think it's really time we learned to follow that to some degree. We may have different opinions there on how we'd like to be treated but most of us don't want to be treated like crap or pitied, etc.
Cupcake, everyone, including you, has ranted and said things they probably may have been better in -one- sense not saying, but you know, in another sense, maybe it's a good thing. We all do it from time to time. People get sick of each other. I'm going to go ahead and make another thread though n the response I had here because I realize it became too long so...yeah.
It's like releasing an obnoxious fart or burp. It's all better now, but there's a stink in the air.
My mom was rather very abusive like that too and used to beat me up all the time when I was too little to run away or when I just didn't care. If she has bipolar, there's a good chance if you feel mood fluctuations so extreme that it is possible. I do hope that you can find out so that you can help yourself. It could be just the regular emotional turmoil teens go through; especially after experiencing the trauma you have by your mom's abuse of you, but if you feel you might have it, that may be a sign to look into some ways on coping with it, to include if need be, seeking help. I wish you luck and hope things work out for you.
I wish you luck then and if she's a nice girl that isn't co-dependent and all, she probably is just being heart felt and showing you how she feels as she can at the time. Good deal. :)
Nice job, Ghetto. Maybe for 09 we'll have two skins to choose from.
I really don't care either way who Lohan dates. Really, it's her life and well, as you said, I would just hope it means that she's going to clean up her life and keep away from drugs, PARIS HILTON, and doing things that harm her image and bring her more pain. Really, if this new person keeps her away from the likes of Paris Hilton, who has messed Lohan, Spears and Ricci up and somehow avoids rehab herself...well good for Lohan and she will have got her head on straight. I don't think that many guys would whine over it really. After all, the chances of getting with an actress/actor whether they stay single or not, are gay or not, etc really is so slim that it's best to just admire them from a distance any way.
Yeah, I remember that. *snicker* I think I'm the one or someone else was and I posted after, that ruined it. It was so long ago. I realize now I have a very crappy memory.
