..................................................................... *coughinflatedegomuch?cough* >_> <_< You may also notice the featured article before that was Kingdom Hearts.........................
I dun get it D: It's just Wikipedia.............unless I'm missing something really obvious, if that is the case *facepalm* T_T
I stalk myself.......................
I will be willing once I have my costume, as I am going to a party, so there should be many pics. There will also be pics of my face make-up which I hope my friend will do (even though my costume has a mask, I doubt I will be wearing it for very long at the party, drinking is rather hard through a mask :P)
I am going to a halloween party which is optional fancy dress ^^ I am going as V but have yet to buy the costume >_>
You should stop it moving because by the time the top line is fully on the screen the start of the bottom line has already dissappeared >_>
I saw a sign in the window but couldn't quite make it out....... O.O *runs*
You are sounding very relaxed Sara xD *pours more fruit punch* :3
I know that, I do not consider her to be God-like, I was merely stating that of all the things she could have gone on to do after marrying the possible future King of the UK she decided to do charity work. She did do a lot of good work, but you are right nobody is perfect. That just goes to show that she is in fact a human being like the rest of us. Do you think she wanted to be considered all high and mighty? Mother Teresa gave her rosary beads, I doubt a person like Mother Teresa would give something like that lightly (Mother Teresa died a week after Diana T_T) The jury have been told to ignore and forget all that they have heard over the ten years and concentrate only on what they hear on the courtroom. Do you really expect them to find ANYONE who was not the tiniest bit influenced over the years? I agree, I think that really an inquest is actually unneccesary at this point. If it had been done at the sensible time, i.e. as close to teh event as possible, then it might have achieved something. The only reason it is happening is because Mr Mohamed Al Fayed, Dodi's father and owner of Harrod's, has been demanding it for years. I also do not mean to offend anyone, especially not you CtR ^^
I am going to a halloween party in a hotel with most of my year at school, optional dress up :P. I'm going as V. Cookies for anyone who knows who he is ;D
Link to BBC story with links to other sections relevant to Diana. Ten years overdue, but finally started. Eleven ordinary people make up the jury in the inquest into Diana's death. They will be going over any and all conspiracy theories that have arisen over the intervening years. I think the saddest picture or at least the one that stirs the most emotion is Diana's last recorded smile :'(. And this next picture shows the last picture of her alive, albeit the back of her head. I think it is so sad that one of the most compassionate people of our era was snatched away from us so brutally. RIP Diana T_T
10 years after her tragic death and the enquiry is FINALLY under way. But I was wondering what peoples thoughts on the events that took place on the 31st August 1997. There are many conspiracy theories flying around, some even think the Royal Family themselves had her killed. But what do you think?
I always pronounced it Mic-ken-zy for come reason >_> I think it is Mic-Kek-nie or something similar.
I know the feeling well, I always want to help people but can never seem to think of the right thing to do because I can't understand the position they are in. Great poem btw ^^
My point is, parents should teach their children discipline while they are still children. Teach them to obey authority while they are still malleable. Trying to teach them authority while they are teenagers is just wrong. Teenagers are supposed to be finding out what the world is like. They are supposed to be becoming more independent. How can they do that if they are still treated like an 8-year old? As for your parents paying for you, that is part of being a parent. If parents think that they get special treatment because they, out of the kindness of their hearts, pay to feed and clothe you etc they shouldn't have become parents. IT'S PART OF THE "JOB". Children who end up "yobbish" tend to have parents who couldn't care less what their children do. Or they are the extreme of anti-discipline and think that their children are adults from the age of 4 -____-. Both extremes are wrong, as is the ultra-totalitarian parent. Look at my life, my parents taught me right from wrong etc when I was a child. I don't swear, I am well-behaved at school, I am kind and courteous and have good grades. But, my parents don't say "You aren't allowed to go out with your friends" or "No drinking for you until you are 21". They let me live my own independent life, they give me freedoms to let me develop into a balanced adult. Also, now that I have a part-time job my parents are asking for some of what I earn and I think that is fair. I can never payback all that I "owe" them, but I can contribute to the running of the household. Also, trust and respect should be built up from early teen years. Your parents should respect your wishes when you are a teenager. You are as capable as them to make certain decisions centred on yourself. Your parents are also part of the last generation. You may have more knowledge about what is going on than they do. But, shouting at your parents never helps. If you want to be treated like an adult you have to act like one. Throwing tantrums will get you nowhere (not that it applies to this case). Sarcasm is ok but only if used sparingly, it can get really annoying =/. Back on topic...........what your mother said was said out of ignorance about the internet, which seems to be common among many adults. Taking the time to explain the issue to her and making her understand it is much safer than the media makes it look. I had to do that with my mother (although I don't think she is completely convinced :P). Sorry if that made little sense, I was typing on the go =/
Is the human race too big for it's own good? If you think about it, in nature, when a species becomes too numerous it tends to die down again to more normal levels so as to keep the balance. There isn't enough food, a change in climate, a species-specific disease etc. But with humans, our extreme adaptability has meant that we are no longer seriously affected by these. Could this be the reason why things like Avian Flu and Cancer are so wide-spread, because the population has grown so big we have reached and passed some sort of critical point? Also, at the social level, have we grown so large in number the concept of society is struggling to keep up? Most people are seen by organisations and governments to be statistics and figures, as there are far too many people to deal with each individual case. This causes major problems in many areas. Does humanity need to spit into smaller and more manageable groups? Or do we need to seriously curb the growth rate of the human species? I have more but it's late and I'm tired -_____-
I need to listen to music as if the room is silent I get distracted by the smallest of noises. The music creates a blanket background noise. When I'm reading time flies by, which is why I read as often as possible. Also, gaming has the same effect, I can play for hours when it seems to be much shorter =/.
Lol this thread is still going >_> I have thought about this and there are many possibilities: The heaven/hell route which many people believe The 'Nirvana' route which includes reincarnation Nothing, when you die that's it, you stop existing as a sentient being and register no more thoughts You go to some form of higher plane of existence, perhaps a higher dimension where existence is incomprehensible to us You dream forever, unable to wake up I personally would prefer the reincarnation route. It allows you to maximise your experiences in life through living over and over again. Heaven and hell would get far too boring, living in the same place for eternity >_>.
I have to say I disagree Gritz. I admit that you respect your parents wishes as they are the ones who provide for you etc. But they have to show repsect back. They have to repsect that you are becoming an independant person. You have a brain, you can look after yourself and make your own decisions. Love and/or repsect should be nothing to do with fear. Your parents shouldn't want you to fear them. They want you to fear the consequences of your actions, it's how you learn the difference between right and wrong. But you shouldn't fear your parents for being them. As I have said before, parents are there to protect you. That is their job and as you get older it becomes harder for them to do it. They feel less and less in control so they get scared. They try to pull you closer and in doing that they push you further away as you try to become your own person. I have to say Gritz you have a very dated view =/ Sure your parents brought you into the world and raised you, but surely anyone could have done that? I know it sounds harsh, but your parents are really just people, kind and caring people who have protected and supported you throughout your childhood, but still people =/. As for maturing mentally, that happens through interaction with others. Comparing your view of the world with that of other people. That can be done in many ways, including over the internet. Parents should NEVER make their children lose their free will, it's part of being human. Once a teenager has lost their free will and does exactly what their parents say all the time they have lost their life. You are supposed to bend the rules a little bit. It is how you test your limits. This is ALL part of growing up and maturing as an adult human being.
Belfast has loads of people trying to sell magazines and newspapers. Then there are the children and adults playing instruments looking for money. I have never gien any of them money and I feel so bad when I walk past them >_> My money is always in my wallet and it would be too much hassle to get it out and try to find some change to give. Anyway, if I use the crowd mentality, someone else is bound to give them something :P
