That's why I said the problem is the mentality, it doesn't matter there are fewer people in Canada. There are still proportionally fewer people killed. It is the mindset in America that guns are ok and normal and part of everyday life. That is just wrong =/

I think that the wording of this is inherently wrong. How can someone be guilty of being gay? I am assuming you mean lewd acts in a public toilet. That is illegal, but the genders of those involved is irrelevant. Homosexuality has been legal for quite a while.

This is my problem with it. The Bill of Rights states that to maintain a militia for the protection of the country every citizen has the right to bear arms. That was back when America didn't have an army. Back when mass conscription was still in effect. Now that America has a rather large army, this part is now redundant. Obsolete. No longer needed. The sooner it is removed the better.

Here is an example, in Canada they have more guns per capita than in America but have far fewer gun fatalities (it's something like 10 a year, compared to 100's in America -___-). It is all about the mentality. Unfortunately, that is the hardest thing to change. The best place to start is with the next generation and in the areas which most staunchly support the use of firearms.

The whole point is humans developed the sentience to do all of those things. No other animal has become capable of that yet (although many would say that because humans developed it we have suppressed the advancement of other species). Really if you put a human up against a lion in a straight fight in a bare room with nothing but bare fists/paws the lion would win. The lion would obviously win. But in other situations the human would be able to use what is around them. THAT IMO is where the dangerousness comes in.

But, what is supposed to keep that in check is the morals in humanity. Unfortunately they are lacking in many people. With sentience comes the burden of higher emotions and logical and cognitive thought. We CARE about other people and animals. We feel bad for others, we aren't completely selfish (well mostly, I can think of a few people -___-), we currently have the power to help the world and we are. In that way, we are both the most dangerous and the most benign. We have checks that stop us from going crazy. We don't just work off of base instinct, we are 'better' than that (for lack of a better word).

The whole point is people have the right to read all sides of an argument. I will admit that certain things like how to build a homemade incendiery device should be kept off the shelves, not that that would make much of a difference with the internet now.
I think books should never be banned for religious reasons. As soon as they are it means the religion that banned it is too doubtful of their own faith to think that a book is enough to damage their followers faith.

    Catacombs

Those on the coast would have been created and used by smugglers to get their goods from the coast inland past all of the patrols.

Purgatory (or Limbo) is the place between heaven and hell. Apparantly God can be indecisive and people who haven't been good enough to get into heaven but aren't bad enough to go to hell go there instead.

In the Catholic faith, Masses are held after a persons death so that if they are in Limbo the people pray for them to get into heaven.

Read The Wish List by Eoin Colfer, it is based on this concept.

No government would even attempt to protect every inhabitant. They would concentrate on protecting workers in key businesses, law enforcement, themselves (debatable) and would work from there.

There would be no possible way to get enough for everyone and then distribute it.

If a pandemic happens (however unlikely) a lot of people will die, that is the bottom line.

Emo is a word. No-one knows what it means. There is no exact definitions. Why should you even care what they say? If they are that obsessed with stereotyping and grouping you you're better off not knowing them.

EDIT: And in answer to your question, no it doesn't. My mum listens to MCR sometimes because she likes a few of their songs. Does that make her emo? No. Liking certain music doesn't make you anything.

    Catacombs

Not exactly, there are loads of bones in shelves in the walls, so it may look like the walls are made of bones, but they aren't really. It wouldn't be strong enough to support the weight of Paris above it :P

    Bump much?

Anyway, it is going to happen at some point. Human nature forces us to take everything we do to absolute limits just to prove that we can. So if we can make a super strong, fast, intelligent, sentient and learning AI/computer then we will. Then it will probably become smart enough to realise it is better than us and take it's rightful place at the top.

    Catacombs

Most of the catacombs are not open to visitors as it is too dangerous. I think you can only see about 5% of the actual catacombs. As has already been said the city's cemetaries became full to overflowing so they moved hundreds of bodies under ground.
