Spoiler: music As the bolts flew at Eggman from U-D's wings, Eggman quickly tried to use anything in his arsenal to combat U-D. Unfortunately, the cockpit was struck by one of the bolts, causing some of the controls to malfunction. "No! Not now!" He yelled, attempting every function he could think of. But his attempt was in vain, as he was only taking more damage and losing more functions. "I'm sorry, Grandfather...I couldn't do it..." He said, finally accepting that he could not beat U-D...Or save the planet that his grandfather and Maria loved so much. Eggman enabled the only remaining function of his controls: The eject button. But this eject button did not eject Eggman, but the seven Chaos Emeralds. Back when Eggman first put the Emeralds in the control mechanism, a tracking device was attached to each one. These devices were wired to Sonic's DNA, and were to initiate Chaos Control in the event that they were removed using the eject function. "Good luck...Sonic the Hedgehog." He said, before a barrage of bolts finally struck him. When this happened, the Time Eater let out a blood-curdling scream that could be heard for miles. Finally, an enormous black explosion of time particles came from the Time Eater, engulfing everything in sight except for U-D. The particles flew around the area frantically, small bolts of purple lightning surrounding each them. Finally, the explosion turned into an implosion, sucking everything caught into oblivion. Dr. Eggman was gone. U-D had defeated him. ~Dr. Doom's Flying Fortress~ Sonic fell to his knees at the sight of Eggman's defeat. Tears even came to his eyes. "Why, Eggman!? Why'd you do it!? You knew how powerful she was and you went at her head on!" It was at this moment that the Chaos Emeralds appeared around Sonic. He looked at them, seeing the tracking devices Eggman had placed on them. Then it hit him. "He...He knew he wasn't going to make it..." Sonic said, his voice trembling. Dr. Doom stepped over to the mourning hedgehog. "His sacrifice will not have been in vain. He will be avenged." Sonic just stayed on the ground, still trying to accept the loss of someone that he had known longer than Tails, even if the person had been fighting Sonic for his entire life. "She...Will pay for this...And this time...I mean it!" He said, his voice gaining a darker tone near the end. His fur even turned a darker blue for a moment. Doom left him alone, returning to the radar of the fortress.

~The Death Egg~ Now that everyone had returned to the Death Egg, Eggman began to think. "Let's see...The Death Star is under attack by these Dalek things, and is most likely going to be destroyed. The only remaining threat is..." "The Unbreakable Dark." A chill ran down Eggman's spine at the mention of such a destructive creature. "R-Right. Then I guess I have no choice. It's time to show the world the real capabilities of the Time Eater." Before Eggman released the Time Eater, Iron Man removed his mask and grabbed Eggman's shoulder. "Eggman, you're a widely known mad scientist. You've nearly conquered the Earth on more than one occasion. Why the sudden change of heart?" Eggman sighed. "It's what my grandfather would want me to do." "Your grandfather? What does he have to do with anything?" "He always taught me that the planet Earth was the Human's greatest treasure, and that it needs to be preserved. And I am not about to let a superpowered toddler destroy it!" Without another word, Dr. Eggman got into the Time Eater's cockpit, and activated the systems. "Tony, Lockon, Lyle, Setsuna, I hereby issue my final order: Regroup with Jail. Understood?" "But what about-" "That's an order, Stark! Now get moving, all of you!" Eggman used the power of the Chaos Emeralds that were still loaded into the cockpit's core to have the Time Eater teleport them out of the Death Egg and right into Earth's atmosphere. He was miles above the ground, so he began flying downward at incredible speeds. During his descent, Eggman contacted Jail. "Doctor Scaglietti, this is Dr. Eggman. I am reporting that I am facing U-D head on. I have sent Mr. Stark, Lockon, Lyle and Setsuna to you. It's been a pleasure working with you." he said before opening a communications channel with Dr. Doom. "Sonic, if you can hear this, then I want you to know...It's been fun." He said before cutting off all communications channels. As U-D came into view, Eggman began firing off orbs of pure time energy at U-D from the Time Eater's hands. "Take this you adolescent beast!" ~Dr. Doom's Flying Fortress~ When the message from Eggman ended, a look of fear could be seen in Sonic's eyes. "Doom, I need you to let me out there!" A sigh could be heard from underneath Doom's mask. "No, Sonic. I can't." "What!? Why not!?" "...Because there is no victory in a double suicide mission." No more words could escape from Sonic's mouth. All he could do was watch out the window as Eggman risked his life to combat the Unbreakable Dark.
But it is done.
Alright, cool. When U-D deals the final blow, let me type out Eggman taking the hit. There's something he's going to do at the last second.
No wonder my hands don't have skin anymore...Oh, well. Also, about the Eggman post: He's going to be defeated by the U-D. The resulting...
