It was not an explosion even though the theory is called the Big Bang. It was an expansion. All of the matter and energy in our universe was contained in one small space. Outside of this there was literally nothing. The edges of this space were the edges of the universe itself, there was literally "nothing" outside of this. No space, not time, NOTHING. All of our dimensions expanded into this nothingness and continues to do so to today and beyond.

Apparantly thinking about such an act is as bad as commiting the act itself, so it's a bit late x]

And anyway, relationships at work never last :P

(Lol my parents met in work xD)

My problem is that just because they are on the internet they can still use proper language. It shows respect to the other people of the forum in that you want them to be able to easily read your post.

Also, it isn't hard to get a spell checker for your browser or at the very least proof reading your post before clicking Post Reply.

The point (I'd prefer to use the word meaning >_>) of life is what you make it. There is no all encompassing point of life. We are all too different. Your life will not have a point if you don't try. You have to find things to give it meaning and purpose. Basically, your life is as good as you make it.

A woman from the UK who travelled to Sudan to teach children was arrested for letting the children call a teddy bear Muhammad. She let the children vote on a name and they chose Muhammad. After several parents of the children complained she was arrested on suspision of blasphemy. She could face imprisonment, 40 lashes or a fine.

Now I think this is just ridiculous. She meant no harm, she said she had always been careful over religious sensitivities and that this is just a simple misunderstanding, and I agree with her. One of the children even said the only reason he wanted that name is because it was the same as his own, and in no way trying to make a mockery of the Muslim Prophet.

    Thoughts?

They have to show to be doing something, so they choose something to make an example of something and splatter it across the media.

I havn't seen it but I think I know what it involves and yes it is an over-reaction.

The cloning of humans would be used to create a ready supply of body parts for organ donation. It would (or at least should) not be used to create new life.

But there will always be those with a big enough ego who want to bring themselves up through childhood V.V

As has been stated absolute zero is the point at which atoms lose all energy and stop vibrating. It has also been stated in this topic that for something to lose heat there has to be an imbalance between the matter and its surroundings.

Oh and temperature and heat are not the same thing.

Nothing special would happen tbh. It's just one of those quirky little things in science that they chase after, not really practical but fun all the asme (some may call it a pipe dream) =/

    Fates

Not many things last forever, humanity is probably not going to be one of those things. Humanity will fall at some point so it's a question of when and not if.

And anyway, even if we could find a way to survive indefinitely would it be enough? There is so much more to life than survival. Living just to survive just seems pointless in a way.

Is that not the same with a lot of other art?

Really if it is just expressive and 'tasteful' (a word with debateable meaning) then it is art. But I would consider porn to be media created specifically to only have adult content. It really all depends on what the most important point of the media is, if it is about sexual acts then it is porn, if it is about a hidden meaning or expression of an idea then it is art. Lol I make sense :) [/sarcasm]

    Wwiii?

It was actually World War III Einstein was commenting on. He meant that WW3 would be fought with nuclear weapons. He considered this would end civilisation as we know it and so subsequent wars (such as WW4) would be fought with primative weaponary (aka bows and arrows).

Breastfeeding has also been linked to increasing intelligence in babies. The milk activates a gene that is in 9 out of 10 babies and can increase their IQ by about 10-20 points.

Not to mention the anti-bodies and proteins and general goodness available free from nature.

The problem is knowledge on its own is not good or bad, it's just there. It's what people do with it that is the problem. Destroying knowledge just because some people have, in the past, done bad things with it is wrong =/ You should destroy all books on military strategy as well, people kill people with that too.

I've pointed out mistakes teachers have made before, it's fun x]

Lol, we asked our maths teacher for help with a hard question that no-one could get (I had several sides of formula trying to work it out x.x). She then spent the hour lesson working it out and got it at the end. She said if anyone could get it by Monday (this happened on a Friday) she would give them a chocolate muffin ^^

    I got so close T_T

I didn't say that these things happen, I asked if Roxma would be willing to let the things I mentioned happen. I was speaking hypothetically. The government (any government for that matter) may never do these things or may not even be able to. I was showing that letting a smallish thing slide can lead to bigger things happening.

It's not that, it's that a family is supposed to be a group of like-minded people to hang around with. IRL you only get one, maybe two families (marriage, adoption etc). Family is supposed to be something special, being in more than two takes that away and makes a mockery of having families at all.
