There are plenty of people out there who live with the full reality of their situation instead of deluding themselves. People with terminal illnesses who accept it and move on. They don't try to ignore it or pretend it's nothing important, they accept that it is a part of their lives and move on. And they are stronger for it. It's like children of over-protective parents, when they get out into the real world their falter and fail because their parents had brought them up in such a safe childhood and even through teenage years that when they leave this illusion (if they ever do >.>) their entire world is turned upside down and they can't cope. Same principle.

Go for whatever seems natural. But if you can't decide, ask the hairdresser for a second opinion. They will have books or charts with the different hair colours so you can look at them and decide which one you want =]

Remember this, it is damn near impossible to get back from a darker hair colour to a lighter hair colour without seriously damaging your hair and your funds ._.

Untrue. The laws of physics are all-binding and certainly not "illusions" in any sense of the word. Now reality, therein you will find the biggest illusion of them all. What we experience as reality is what our senses tell us, but how can we trust that to be accurate? Richard Dawkins commented on our sense of sight being like a Burka where the inch tall slit that we see the world through is visible light. Above and below us would be miles and miles of cloth representing the rest of the spectrum. Imagine how much of the universe, of reality, that we are missing because of our inadequate senses.

There are other types of illusions though. Illusions of life that people build up to, as Repliku, make us feel safe. This can go as far as people descending into denial. If the illusion is broken the person is likely to become depressed or even suicidal as reality comes flooding in.

I've read most of the books and also own quite a few ;o

I joined the book club too xD I got sent recipies from the book and shizz, signed stuff from BJ himself ;D Posters and the like

I loved them =] Although, they don't seem as appealing now that I'm older =/ But they were certainly well-rounded novels with action, adventure, love interests (sexy squirrels FTW =P) etc

Or we are all too injured to continue, or dead. The more advanced weapons are the faster and more effectively they kill people. Therefore a war now would results in hundreds of millions if not billions dead. A frightening thought through anyone's perspective.

But as you say, it probably won't come to that. I think that world leaders are too lazy (/spineless/cowardly lol) to commit to anything that major. Unless there was overwhelming public support of course.........

You are forgetting the many other events that minor on their own could build up to something much bigger. The missile defence network crisis, dwindling oil supplies (many of the pipes of oil and gas from the Middle East come through Georgia), dispute over new found resources in the Arctic (mainly between Russia, the UK [I think] and the USA), the assassination of Alexander Litvinenko on British soil and now this. (lol there are probably other things but I can't think of them xD)

All sides concerned still have nukes. All I am saying is that it is a possibility, not that we could do anything about it even if it did happen.

That proves a point in itself. The questions which Repliku listed would delve into what the person is really like. Working out what someone is like from their religion is just looking at the shallow exterior. There are plenty of people out there that consider things like going to church to make them "good people" when they are complete asses to everyone and anyone the rest of the time.

Judging someones personality by something like religion, it doesn't even go through the skin.

Many people worry that this could lead to a WW3 =/ I also hope that Russia can stand on its own two feet at some point, but there is no excusing actions like this. Was there really any need for them to invade with such an overwhelming force like that? And the fact that they continued bombing long after a ceasefire was declared is nothing short of abhorrent.

I hate working with What Ifs, especially ones this big. They are completely pointless and impossible to fathom. The world as we know it would probably be fundamentally different, considering Christianity (in all its many guises) has meddled in most things.

There would be more in other religions, possibly even new religions and a higher proportion of atheists/agnostics as well. There would be less violence, no Crusades, people would have more money, there would be less over-crowding (population wise) and science and technological advances could well be much further ahead.

No-one will ever know anyway, so why does it matter?

This is hardly a repeat of the Cold War if there is actual fighting involved. That goes against the entire principle and description of a Cold War.

Anyway, I see this as a desperate grab for power to try and show the world that Russia is a country to be reckoned with again, if it ever was. The country always has too many problems, and never anyone competent to solve them. And the years under Communism certainly had to be their darkest and most pathetic time. I personally don't think a country that big could ever get itself coherent enough to actually be a major global power (the USA is teetering on the edge tbh)

What is wrong with hating god? Or hating religion for that matter? They are not human. No humans are harmed, none are hated. So what is the problem? Religion is an idea and a tool, nothing more. There have been many hated ideas throughout history, why does religion have such a taboo about it? If I want to hate it I will go ahead and hate it. But I will not hate its followers, unless they give me reason to.

There are plenty of people, Christians, who I like and are my good friends. Just because they have a belief that I hate and abhor does not mean that those feelings carry through to them. They are two completely separate "entities" and I wish people would keep them that way.

This is an awesome idea, having a separate section with each thread will allow members to quickly scan over the titles to see if their suggestion has already been not approved. It also means that a thread can simply be moved when locked.
