It's simple. Riku shares some of his energy with Sora and they perform a high-powered limit. The reason why Riku and Sora can use Dark Aura is because Sora as well as Riku has a dark side, which allows him to gain some of darkness to his own hand. He doesn't usually attack with darkness though. That's the best way I can explain it.
