These countries are non-secular meaning the church and state are not separate. They are in effect the same thing. So whatever goes or does not go for the church affects everyone in the country, regardless of their own religious views. This of course is completely immoral in itself and should really be banned.

As for it being a death penalty, of course it is wrong. How can someone be put to death for being something they didn't choose? It sounds like a throw back to the witch hunting days when a single accusation from a respected member of the community could have someone put to death.

    Insane.

Not to mention Bradford & Bingley being nationalised in the UK, Lloyds TSB taking over HBOS and the global recession.

The point is, as soon as they asked for a mortgage they should have been denied. Banks and mortgage companies run background checks on people who apply for mortgages so they know exactly how able they are to pay it back. If they have bad credit or a dodgy income (i.e. low and/or not very secure) then they shouldn't offer them one.

They didn't have homes in the first place. It's not like they had their own home then took out these mortgages to upgrade. These were out of desperation. And the banks and mortgage companies snared them in their honey traps.

So they are stupid for wanting something better? If everyone took that stance no-one would ever try.

And anyway, if the banks never offered these mortgages in the first place there would be no problem. It's practically entrapment.

Yeah, we don't want them playing with investments. We want them being intelligent and not taking outrageous risks.

As for not bailing out the low-income Americans, what have they done wrong? They got the mortgages completely legally and all they are doing is aspiring to the "great American dream". Can't blame them for trying. But you can blame the banks for giving out the mortgages in the first place. If they know they aren't going to get the money back, why give out the mortgage in the first place?

Idiots, they deserve to be sacked. I just wish they weren't taking whole economies down with them >_>

No-one actually cares about the presidential elections anymore. They are a non-issue if there is no economy for them to reform.
