Those "scars" you talk about are only caused because of the fact that prostitution was made taboo by the Christian church. If attitudes are changed, none of those things would happen. Also, if it were legalised (as has been said a few hundred times before in this thread >_>) it would be a regulated market and so there would be health checks etc meaning that the risk from STD's and AID's would be greatly reduced.
Normally it would not be the responsibility of "normal" Muslims. However, when I hear Muslims go on about how they have it so bad with them always being lumped in with the terrorists I wonder, what are they actually doing to combat that image? I think the Danish cartoons incident was pretty clear. They showed what the West though of Islam, and then the many protests (mostly violent), burnings and vandalism proved the West to be right.
