Who is to say she tried to fake it? As has already been said several times in this thread (by several different people) it is highly likely that it was either glare from the camera or glare from the sun.

All it takes is a biased mind to interpret something in the way they want.

Lololol I hear many conflicting stories here and many of them are wrong xD

I read this in the paper today while I was on my break in work. He was "disgruntled" after a bitter divorce settlement and wanted to get back at his ex-wife. He dressed up as santa and went to her house carrying a big "present". A little girl opened the door, she thought it was santa bringing presents, and he shot her in the face >_> (She survived but is in a critical condition in hospital). In all he had 4 weapons. In the box he had a home made device which sprayed inflammable liquid around the house. He also shot at the party guests as they ran away. Two of the guests are in hospital and are expected to recover. In all nine bodies were recovered, out of 25 guests, but dental records are needed as they are too badly burned to identify them in any other way. After doing all this he drove to his brothers home and shot himself in the head.

He had planned to escape to Canada (they found $17,000 and a plane ticket to Canada on his person) but was badly burned by the fire and obviously thought he wouldn't make it =/.

A point I just picked up from your opst there Shiki, why would a woman whose daughter is seriously ill in hospital have a digital camera with her? Taking photos of her dying daughter? >_>

People get better, people die. That is life. But of course, Christians have the fall back (as the mother was setting up previously in the article) of "maybe it's time for her to rejoin god". Way to safe your back from scrutiny.

I am also not scorning them. I am saying it was not a miracle. What saved that girl was her immune system and the hospital. Saying that "divine intervention" was needed mocks the effort of the hospital and is really not needed.

O.T. And why do you dislike that particular actor?

I would also like to point out that the hard work of the doctors and nurses seems to have been completely ignored by the family. How outrageous that some flash of light gets all praise when these people who devote their lives to saving people just like that girl have sacrificed so much of their time and effort in making her better. It finally pays off and glare from the sun gets the credit.

Yes that's right. Notice in the article it says "“What was so ironic… is it was a rainy day,” Colleen said. “It had been overcast all day. And the sun only came out at that point.”". Strong sunlight coming through an outer window and being blocked by people and other objects in whatever room it had to go through. Tada, you get glare against the wall with an unusual shape.

I mean really, some people really need to think before they speak.

After an extremely traumatic event (such as, for example, the death of one of your children), you aren't likely to be in your right mind. So (if it was accidental) there is a very good chance the mother would have hidden it. She has probably seen how the court cases go on TV and watched enough crime series to see that she would be the prime suspect. Being overcome with grief she wouldn't be capable of thinking of the consequences of her actions.

As for there not being any of seeing if she died, the first article said that her head was skeletal. If she had no flesh left most of the evidence of her death would also be gone. The only things left would be fractures, and there are quite a few ways to kill someone without breaking any bones.

Of course, if she is guilty I hope she is punished appropriately.

People see what they want to see. Of course an astonished mother is going to see a "live-saving angel". How a kinda blobby light shape constitutes an angel I don't know.

Also, notice how the word used was "predicted". Predictions are based on assumptions and therefore have to be taken with a pinch of salt. Another similar case was the conjoined twins (Faith and Hope) who were born to an 18 year old (youngest mother to have conjoined twins). Her doctors advised her to have an abortion because there was no chance. Hope died a few weeks ago and faith died yesterday. Neither of them had a chance. The doctors were right, but again there was the chance that one or both of them could survive and it would be seen as a "miracle". They've died and it's a tragedy. It's all subjective and dependant on what actually happened.

Well, I doubt it is purely genetic but genes are certainly an extremely important (and probably the main cause) part of it but environmental factors can also play a part.

It is certainly not a choice now (unless you are talking about bisexuality then I have no clue xD).

I bow for he is one of the few with sense in this Horus-damn crazy world.

Also, he is the incarnation of Horus.

Thank you for addressing my question. I am now that little bit wiser.

Can we now get back to the point of this thread, which is the discussion of the Pope's most recent opinion on homosexuality?

I am really loosing my patience with members on this site. Obviously no-one can read past the first post on a thread.

If you hadn't noticed I posted again asking for clarification on the whole Pope thing. Thanks for ignoring me trying to fill the holes in my knowledge and bashing me for having them in the first place.

The point I was making about the Pope and Catholics is that Catholics believe the Pope to be god's representative on earth. If this is true (this core part of the Catholic faith) then surely all that the Pope says must be from the mouth of god.

(I won't go into the number of times Popes have either gone back on what they have previously said or later Popes have reversed what previous Popes have said [like the abolition of purgatory, where did all the dead unbaptised babies go? =/] as that would just add to the contradiction)

If I am wrong on the Pope being gods representative on earth thing (which I am pretty sure is right) feel free to correct me, I want to know as much fact about these kind of topics as possible =]

    BBC story.

Of all the things he had to choose to talk about in his speech he chose this xD

Likening "protecting humanity from the destructive influence of homosexuality" and protecting the rain-forests from destruction was certainly a bit too much (i.e. completely out of line).

This also means that all catholics believe this now x] And if not well, you just aren't catholic, are ya?

    Comments please.

My point exactly. The car may not have gone up in flames. The co-worker could have waited for a trained professional to arrive to do the job properly.

This is all a case of what ifs, and as we all know what ifs are pointless as they can only work if we can be outside the current situation. This of course being impossible because this is the only way it happened.
