    Horoscopes

I read them for the craic. They are worse than religion in terms of validity (hardly seems possible tbh ;D). They are vague and designed to apply to anyone and everyone. Especially considering that a couple of sentences are supposed to apply exactly to everyone born in a month and a half or so.

People interpret what they want to interpret, simple as that.

I know xD There are certain things that large numbers of people can agree on as being "good" but it doesn't change the fact that not every sees that particular thing as "good".

So lets all live our own damn lives for once.

Also, the only reason the word "god" got a capitol letter was because it was at the beginning of a sentence. No sense capitalising the virtually non-existent =]

Good and evil are subjective. Everyone's idea of good and evil is different therefore it is not possible for any two people to be good in exactly the same way. I may think that choosing a blue car is good and someone else may think that choosing a red car is good. Neither is technically "right" but both of us believe that we are right. There is a big difference.

He may not have made us eat the forbidden fruit, but he created the forbidden fruit and our curiosity which is as bad as making us eat it. I mean, God knew that if we were made curious (which we were) then we would be drawn to anything mysterious (which the tree was when god refused to reveal anything other than "It will kill you") therefore he knew that we would eat from the tree. And yet he punished us anyway, what a bastard. Unless, of course, he doesn't exist and the entire of Christianity is a lie (which I think it is) then it is all fine because humans choose their own decisions and deal with them because they are human. God is an insult to humanity and anyone who worships god insults humanity as well. Thanks for the insult.

Lol way to throw out the ****ing martyr card. I am sick of Christians saying "Oh, you don't know what it is like to be made fun of until you be Christian" because really, Christianity is well respected compared to Atheism and Islam (as well as many other religions). So stop using the martyr card, try something else for once ;)

I do and I don't. I miss it because it was so much more relaxed. No coursework deadlines, work, social status etc. It was just having fun. No politics, no religion (hopefully) and little awareness of what was going on in the rest of the world.

But I don't miss being ignorant. It feels so good to know things and be able to explain things to people. I can still ask questions because there is a lot to learn, but I have already learned so much. I wouldn't give up all that knowledge for the world, not even blissful ignorance.

As does money and power. Look what two things religion has a lot of. Hmmmm........

Sex is sex. It makes babies when we want it to (unless you fail at contraception or are extremely unlucky) and is fun otherwise. Calling it a "cardinal sin" without giving reasons why other than "god/the Bible says so" is not an argument.

Evs? xD But yeah, language is all about context. The problem with the internet is that you can't hear the person speak, and the way a word is said is as much part of the context as the rest of the sentence is.

Who knows, it's just the way society works. And anyway, black people are seemingly allowed to call each other the N word, and I call my friend a *** all the time and he is gay. He isn't offended, because he understands the context. People need to try that some time, k?

You are telling people not to use it. How is that to be misinterpreted? Unless I have somehow xD Please explain if I have.

It can be used in a general way as opposed to specifically as a homophobic slur. Gay is exactly the same. Why only complain about one word?

I will say it again, a word is a word. The reason you find it offensive is because you choose to. It is usually not used in an insulting or derogatory way and so looses it's barb. Why don't either ignore it or see it as the word that it is rather than trying to tell the rest of us what we can and cannot say?

I do realise that enough can be enough, but was the original complaint not about the use of the word at all? A word is a word, it is context that gives it meaning.
