I'd say that well, there are a few things to learn from this and then I'd suggest the thing to do is move on. One is that if you like a girl, you might want to try just asking her to go on a date with you and don't well, tell anyone unless you really trust the person or want an opinion. Don't let them do the 'middle man' message passing thing. It can make a girl think you are too shy and well, she might not want to get with you for that reason. It seems this happened to you by accident and yet that's how these things sometimes go, sadly. I know it's rough, but it does tend to work out better in the end and if you get a 'no', which we all fear, it's not so bad really. It just means to wait around until you find someone else you like and sometime you will eventually get a yes. Rejection is tough and stops a lot of people from asking others out but it's a fact of life to really strive to face so you can get over shyness. I say that part because that is probably how this 'Brandon' slips into the scene. He probably liked her and took initiative so she was more attracted to that. If you can learn the trick of the trade and not become an a-hole like he is, well, you will win in the end and so will some lucky girl who says yes. The next thing I'd say to take from this is that Shannon is someone you should probably write off as a potential girlfriend and if you like her, consider her a friend instead who's well, made a decision. She probably didn't have the heart to tell you that she wasn't interested and well, likes you as a person so she said what she did. She meant well and though I tend to feel the truth is always better, sometimes this is what people do to let someone go. It hurts, but at least she had your feelings at heart. That's what I think happened anyway. As some others mentioned, school is a weird place and there is a lot of drama and mind games, even if some are unintentional. It's where everyone is pretty much learning the dating stuff and blunders galore happen. Try to not take it too seriously if you can help it. I hope you'll meet another girl you like but if I were you, I'd move on from this girl and do some other activities and such. You'll meet someone else and hopefully you'll have better luck with her. You aren't at fault for anything really and dating in school is just a game of chance. Wish you luck with this and hope you'll feel better about things.
I wouldn't say it's exactly a problem. More likely, it's a stage thing. I have liked to have alone time often. I don't like talking on the phone with people. It bothers me at times and I'd just rather if they were going to do that, if we were actually face to face. However, having said that, I do like to come on the internet and chat with people and talk on forums if it feels meaningful to me. In some ways, at times I can be very social and hang out with others. At other times, I really don't like having people around as I feel that there are just moments where too negative (drama and angst and woe, spewing hatred etc) things or too positive (giggly hyper people, people that are pretending or just overly positive or positively fake) can get on my nerves and I'm mostly a mellow person that likes to explore, study, and move about unhindered. At one point in my life I was very anti-social, but I've gotten over that so that now I've learned to just space myself out. It could be that because you have trouble finding people like you, it makes you feel withdrawn. I think in some ways that was my deal. I was always feeling more mature than others in my age group and felt that what adults called 'mature' wasn't. For example, I'd be called 'childish' for liking cartoons and would throw back at the person that they were so much more mature because they went out and got shitfaced and had to be dragged to their bed, suffering a great hangover the next day. I think that you should try to enjoy your time alone, explore, and well, try to not be too negative. There are other people out there like you and if you meet them, they won't seem so obnoxious or annoying. However, like you, they are probably going to be rather quiet so the internet can be a good way to meet them, or just look around for others who do seem to match more what you are like. I think since you have some friends, even if they are annoying at times, doing things occasionally with them too is a good thing. It's not a very good idea to seal yourself totally from others. But also enjoy the time you have to yourself and make it constructive. You might find some activities you like to do that might not be so bad to do with others which might help open you up a bit more. Also, try to not profile people if you can help it. Each person is 3d and yet sometimes some people -really- put forth an effort to look stereotypical and 2d, and to me, these people are what I'd coin as immature or fake. There are others out there though who aren't like that. Maybe you seek what's more real to you and in school environments where people are so worried about popularity etc, that can be rough to find. Those people exist in any 'classification' out there so you might want to keep that in mind. You seem the sort who would do well to seek out those sorts of people and even if it is one to three great friends, these are to me better than a ton of acquaintances. I do hope things go well for you and if you do some alone time because you seem cognitive and more inner-tuned than outwardly, but at other times try to do some activities with others so you don't become totally introverted, and keep your eyes looking for those people that are seeking more 'real' things, you might be happier. Good luck and I hope this helped you at all.
Aww, what's wrong? *pester bother bother*
I'm sorry to say that this idea really could never even be implemented. You can say that 'staff has to approve' of any members presented, but in the end, it would come down to an over glorified popularity contest, rather than getting people into a position that they'd actually know how to do. As staff works, you may not always be happy with some of the choices made, but they are made based off of skill (if they have knowledge of message board operation or other things beneficial), mannerisms (for the most part xD), and the ability to make decisions for the good of the members and be as impartial as possible (meaning friends who do wrong are just as equally dealt with as others are and not more or less). Often times, part of what does make a potential person staff material would be how well they get along with others, but there's more to it than that. You don't have to be 'popular' and if members could vote on staff in such a way, though some may be quite sincere in saying they feel the person is honorable, trustworthy and thoughtful enough for it, let's face it. We know it just wouldn't work that way and in the end, popular people would be fighting because staff would say no and members would get in a huff because they are being ignored. It's not about choosing who's 'popular' or who's 'superior'. It's about selecting who the staff feels would be best for the job as they want it ran to keep the site maintained. The voices of what members want to see happen, well...you post your ideas here and we see if it's possible to make it happen, let us all, members and staff included, debate on the suggestions, and then if they can get done and are beneficial, they happen. This is about as democratic as nearly any message board or chat channel can really be. We're not a country. The other thing to mention here is that interviews for staff would be more scrutinized in a way and members could really be humiliated. Why didn't your choice get picked? Well, they did this..that.. ok. It would just be an embarrassment whereas otherwise, if a person is denied for staff, it would be understood why between the staff interviewers and that member only and no one even needs to know the person was interviewed. It makes things more public that just don't need to be. Another point is how would people even choose members and well, some members would harass others and do dirty tricks and all, or somewhere along the line people would be encouraged to drop out or they'd get insulted etc. I think it would make people really feel that there's an issue of favoritism even worse than people feel there is now. Also, let's not go too far with the imagination and think of if some members win and others can't stand the person at all. At least with how things are now, if you don't like a staff member, you can blame staff for the decision. Staff are members in the end, but we have some extra responsibilities that we are willing to undertake to help keep things going smoothly. Some people seem to think that staff (because of former staff no doubt making that impression) are better, have had to be recognized as popular whether troublemakers or not, and well, like beating down people. It's a job, though one we don't get paid for, but in the fact hopefully we kept things neat and orderly, stopped some trolls, cleared videos and other such things to keep the site fun. Hell, it can be a real headache some days. xD I'm skating around this, I realize since it's late and I'm lacking on sleep, but hopefully you see the point I am making. A democratic process just would not work in any fashion because someone's always going to feel pressured or burned. It's an extra hassle for staff and members that just isn't needed. If someone has the potential for staff, well, I outlined some of what it would take above there. It's kind of like you have to have the heart for it and if you do, when openings happen, there may come a time when you get your shot at it. So yeah, blah blah, I went on, but thought it was an important enough issue to explain out why it probably wouldn't work in any way. For those of you who like my essays, here's another one for ya.
Leon was meant to be Squall, not Laguna. He's just possibly a bit older than Squall was in FF VIII. As for Cloud wearing Vincent attire, that was done because Nomura wanted to put Vincent into the game but could not manage it so instead he altered Cloud to have some of Vincent's clothing.
And here it's been moved. Rah rah. xD
I'm around. Just I happen to get here late at night when a lot of others are asleep often. :( School and work keep me busy. How's it going?
My condolences regarding the loss of your pet. It sucks that someone would do that and just drive off. It happens so often that people will do such a thing and it's a serious shame most don't get caught. P.S. Anyone else who wants to add in stupid remarks to this post or anywhere else in this area, I'm not taking it as funny. I will warn and ban. Please be considerate of others. If you can't, don't post here. This is the final warning regarding this.
~~~ Kweh. ~~~
You can get some stats for enemies if you buy the Brady game guide. Some gamefaq entries probably also have stats for the enemies.
McDonalds, Burger King, Wendys, KFC, and there are some other places not on this list that are pretty fattening and are grease attacks waiting to happen. Any place that sells burgers and fried chicken is automatically fatty.
If you really are hearing voices and such, you should be seeing a psychiatrist since that is a sign of schizophrenia, which is a debilitating brain condition.
There's really no reason to bring up Xendran. He's a banned member and if you don't know him, don't worry about it. This is being closed to avoid future issues.
I guess I'd call it an anime because of the style it is drawn in and how it plays out with scenes that are more done in an anime fashion than in other cartoon styles. If I wanted to be more specific, I'd call it American anime, so as to differentiate it from Japanese anime. There are other anime shows not just done in Japan after all. And as someone mentioned, if you actually asked someone in Japan what an American comic was, that person probably would say manga since it is their generic term for 'comic'. They'd probably say 'anime' for any cartoon they might see too from somewhere else as that's their word for 'cartoon'. We differentiate more based on style than they do really, because we like our sub-divisions. So, in 'proper' form I'd say it's fine to call it anime or American anime.
I voted for Sean Connery because to me he was the one who set the frame work down for how Bond is on the big screen and he was great. I also liked Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan who seemed naturals for the role.
How could you just leave us? How rude. :( I'm taking your favorite seat.
I'm not afraid of death and can say that I don't bother to try to come up with what happens after I would die. I figure there's peace of some kind, whether it's an end or a beginning after an end. I can leave it up to mystery but since I've nearly died a couple times and felt there was nothing to fear in it, I don't worry about it.
I hope things get better and less hectic for you, DP. You'll be missed. Get back here soon.
Oh, man. Saki is leaving. You best learn your stuff and then come back here sometime. Take care.
This is just pathetic. To sue someone for a picture for slanting her eyes when others did and there is an Asian even in the picture who doesn't seem to care. Maybe they should consider the context of the picture because obviously that guy had no problems with it. People getting offended here don't deserve money. If you are that upset, don't buy her records etc. Really, some people will gripe and do anything to win money. lol .. just stupid.
