I've always preferred Marvel in the end since they seem to me to have more interesting and down to earth characters that I can relate to more or they stir up some good mysteries and such. I do like some DC but mostly it has been Batman or the Vertigo comics under the DC label which are for more mature reading. DC always has seemed to just be out there and some of Marvel is too, but I just like more of the Marvel storylines and characters. My favorite comic company though is probably Darkhorse, or was. I haven't really been keeping up on comics in the last couple/few years.

Whenever we, the staff that is, move a thread to an area where posts do not count or we delete posts, your post count goes down. You may want to check what areas you are posting in and read the rules if your posts are being deleted or moved on you. Some areas, where posts count mostly, require you to post at least 6 words per post and to stay on topic with the theme of that area or thread. Hope that explains things in a nutshell.

It can take varying times to get over crushes. I will say that imagining up reasons to hate someone probably won't work because hate and having a crush are both extreme emotions and it can be surprisingly easy to flip back between the the immense liking of someone and next hating the person and vice versa.

The ways I have approached it were to try to not see the person through the rosy colored glasses that crushes put on you automatically and see the person for who he/she is. Also, trying to divert attention elsewhere and doing other activities helps to cool it off. In time it will fade to being more manageable as through life you end up having at least a few crushes. Another thing is to realize that if the relationship isn't working, or going to work, you are wasting your time feeling things for a person who will not reciprocate and well, there are other people out there who would so there's no use getting stuck on a person emotionally who doesn't have interest in you. It doesn't make the person bad so hating the person is rather pointless to me. It just means the person doesn't feel the same way and learning to accept this is difficult, but it's part of life and it is giving you and that person a respect in a way to move on and go do other things. You don't have to hate the person. It is natural to feel some sort of resentment but this too can be overcome with time. In myself, I just resolve the fact that though I really like the person a lot, we won't work out that way and if I do respect her at all, I must take into consideration her feelings. After all, there's a reason the crush happened in the first place and I do like the girl. For her good as well as my own, it's always seemed best to let myself move on and well, sooner or later those feelings do quell with the realization that there will be other girls to meet and that I can be content knowing that hopefully the girl I would have a crush on would be fine with her own life.

It's hard to get in that mode of thinking, but it does work. One thing to know is to try to keep your self-esteem up if you can. Just because someone who you really like doesn't find interest in you the same way you feel for that person, it's no reason to look down on yourself. Crushes are not just 'love' but very strong emotion and hormones. It's these we have to get a control over and if anyone's methods don't work above, they are suggestions and you may yet find your own way of making peace with the turbulence of it all. I wish you luck and hope things get better for you.

I don't feel as you do really in that matter. If I have friends I've had for years, I know them. If a girl or guy expects a person to give up their best friends they've known for a very long time, that's just cruel and greedy. Yes, friends also have to know that their time spent with you is going to be reduced but no one should have to give up those they care about for some girl or guy they are dating and surely if the person loved you, she or he'd never make those kinds of demands in the first place. It's very selfish to me and I've never done it myself. I've had gfs that try to do that and they were all very possessive and jealous. It was better to drop them than true friends I've known. Guess it just depends how you feel about the issue and if a gf or bf is more important than friends. I am maybe greedy and would want both so life isn't centered around just one person because believe me, that gets boring if you have no outlet ever and your partner doesn't either. It just leads to fighting.

For uni and official stuff, I spell it gray. However, it can be either gray or grey, but in uni, some profs are really picky so I had to get in the habit of doing it their way.

If you have allergies, those can certainly wear you out. What are you taking for allergies? The medicine or lack of it can attribute.

One thing that my friend uses which does wonders for her is a Neil Med Sinus Rinse which can either be bought with a Netty Pot or a squirt bottle. You can pick these up at quite a few stores such as Walmart, Target, drug stores and sometimes grocery stores. It can help clear out the nasal passages and assist in stopping nasal drip so that it doesn't go into your lungs and wear you out. You might want to try that as it has no ill effects like some allergy drugs do in wearing a person out or making them high-wired for a while and twitchy.

Some other things to do, are to try taking a multi-vitamin per day that includes iron in it. You may have iron-poor blood at the moment so that can revitalize you within even a couple days after beginning taking the multi-vitamin. Also, try to lower caffeine intake, and if you want to, try getting some kind of protein shake like 'Designer Whey' with whey in it. Make sure to eat a healthy breakfast that is not just full of oils or sugar. That way you aren't burning yourself out through half the day.

The last suggestion is to try to get up your metabolism as you do these new foods and vitamins and such, and take care of your allergies. Try doing something fun to get the blood going that is exercise. Do a start up of easy things and work on up. Even if you feel lethargic and say do 15 jumping jacks to begin, that will help get your blood moving some more. Do push ups or 'wall push ups' if you can't manage push ups. Do some crunchies now and then. Like 10 each of the push ups and crunchies. Work these into times where you are doing nothing else basically to work the muscles and then you won't be sore but will get some energy as time goes on. Work out more as you feel you can. Maybe go for a walk now and then just to look around, feel better about your surroundings and get the blood moving some.

Having a low self-esteem and these other issues you have such as allergies can lead to depression and exhaustion. Make sure to get your 8 hours of sleep a night if you can. Don't sleep more or less if you can help it. A nap now and then is ok, but you want to make sure you get proper rest as too much or too little is also a contributing factor. If after these sorts of ideas don't work, or if you feel really down and just can't motivate yourself, the last thing I'd suggest is that you see a doctor who can address your allergies and also recommend you to a psychiatrist or counselor to talk to so that you can get other help. These suggestions work if you are willing and able to invest some time and all, but if you are really depressed, you really have to try to break that pattern. I wish you luck and hope things get better for you.

I know for one thing, I don't hate you. xD And others who posted here obviously don't dislike you either. You are cool to talk to, debate with and discuss things.

I will say if some members (not all because it is definitely not all) may be getting a negative attitude towards you, it may be because at times you can be rather abrasive or well, to be honest as I tend to be, sometimes you come off as having a superiority complex. You talk down to some people occasionally and it can hurt them. If you curb that some, I am sure that things will clear up for you around here. It's obvious that you don't feel you are superior to others, so you might want to watch how you word things sometimes when you disagree with someone's opinion. Then you cover yourself and also get your idea across with less of a reaction in the negative. You're a good person and they'll see that and if they don't, oh well. We can't make everyone happy and at times some people take things way too seriously if someone does disagree.

I hope that didn't offend you because you are cool to me. Things will get better here, I'm sure, so hang in there, buddy. As for outside of the forums, try to see if you can recognize anything that might seem stand offish to others. Maybe as corny as it sounds, try to think of what you said to some people, record it for yourself and leave it alone for a day or two. Then play it back to yourself and pretend someone said it to you and see if it makes you feel negative. It's a good way to catch things. Or well, another idea is to ask some people to be straight up with you and see what their thoughts are. Of course, try to do this with someone who is known to be rather honest and not just a ******. Hope you feel better soon, man.

It is probably due to possible carpal tunnel symptoms or nerve damage in your hand from possibly using it too much. Some things that may help is trying to soak it in warm water and stretching the hand carefully, moving it around slowly in the water for say around 10 minutes at a time. You might want to see about getting a wrist brace to make sure you are writing with your hand straight enough so that your wrist is not stressed. If you feel any pain or swelling, you might want to use an ice pack on the area for a few minutes. Is there any pain in the thumb area or pinky finger area or anything?

If you still have problems, you will undoubtedly have to make another appointment with the doctor. I hope it is nothing too bad and that it is just some minor thing that can be worked out with some rest and such. Good luck with this.

To me, without knowing details exactly but hearing that you can pinpoint things that are bringing you down, it sounds like you've become depressed and also frustrated. It's made you anxious and angry because it has built up to such a level because there seem to be multiple problems of the past that have not been able to resolve so that you can go forward.

One of the things I noted you saying is that you have been bullied and people have discouraged you from even thinking you have a chance academically. I was bullied too until I became sick of it and resolved it in myself that I may not be better than others, but I'm also certainly not worse. Some people are rotten at times and they say the worst of things to those who will listen to them. Some people get off on encouraging others to suffer. These are the people that you should ignore and not even give a second glance to. I know it is hard to do but they are wrong and only you can let someone hurt you with words. Maybe part of what they are saying, you believe is true, but in the end, look at the source of who is saying the whole rotten thing and realize that they are talking trash so who the hell are they?

If you see your own faults, you can work on them. You don't need an idiot telling you what your faults are. You can mold yourself how you want and take charge of your life. This includes academically. You want to do well, what do you do? Study and take some time for yourself to research things you enjoy. Work on the troubled things and if you need, go to a book store and get some helper books on subjects you have trouble with or computer programs which can assist you more. You can take charge of your life in this route and well, blow off the nay sayers.

Another thing you pointed out is you have a lack of friends. This can be tough to change around. Are you often quiet at school? You might want to try to associate with some of the shyer or quiet people as well if you would find that easier, or see who is amiable at all and try talking to that person. There are always others that are feeling just as alone as you are. Don't be too desperate to them or they might weird out but if you approach some people, sooner or later someone is going to be your friend. Maybe try to invigorate yourself also by joining a club of some sort. This of course may take some time.

Some things you can do to help with depression and frustration anxiety are:

Make sure you try to only allow yourself 8 hours of sleep if you can. Too much or too little of sleep are both bad for you. A nap now and then is fine but too much sleep exhausts you too and makes you lethargic.

Try doing some exercises or get into some kind of thing like martial arts or a sport. Depression and anxiety can be helped by having a strong body strong mind philosophy to some degree. It helps regulate chemicals in the body and release more positive endorphins. In simple, so it's not all big talk, it gets your blood moving and gives you more energy, though at first you might feel it is opposite. You also build up your endurance.

Try eating some healthy foods like with protein in them and a vitamin a day. Drink more water if you can. Some invigorating protein foods and a vitamin will help pick up your metabolism and give you some more energy to help you get through the day.

If you feel really angry and frustrated, as funny as it sounds, beat on a punching bag or a pillow or something that can't be damaged but that you can take some anger get out on. If nothing else works, try going somewhere away from others and have a good yell or play some music with some loud voices that goes along with how you feel, and vent with it, singing to it. When you feel that anger slip away, play some soft music that is not pessimistic like some Pure Moods or something like that which is relaxing and non-stressful.

You might also want to try meditation as I know it's done wonders for me. I recommend it to anyone to help as it's helped many people with anxiety and stress to help get rid of some of the burden of emotions that are blurring thought progresses for at least a temporary time. Sometimes that temporary peace of mind is enough to come up with ideas on how to deal with problems. If you want to know some meditations, I can describe them for you.

Try going for walks now and then for like 30 minutes. Just try to look around at what's around you in a good nice spot as you go and well, see if you can focus on that to find some serenity and calm. Or go to a favorite spot to relax. If that's difficult, try doing some light hobby that does not take much to do at first so you don't find yourself frustrated with that project. As you get into progression with one task you set for yourself, pick gradually more difficult tasks. It will help get your brain back into gear so that you can see that things can be accomplished.

If you have other problems that you'd want to discuss, feel free to post them and maybe we can give you some ideas. I hope things get better for you and that you feel better soon. You seem to have quite a bit on your plate so breaking those issues up can help in finding some positive resolutions. Hang in there.

I can see why you'd get annoyed. My friends and I are of all sorts of ethnicites so we tend to tease and say jokes to one another often without taking offense but we never really say things like 'all <insert race here> should die' as a joke. I'd have told her that her jokes are only funny to her so unless she wants no friends, she should consider anyone else's feelings instead of telling them to deal with it. You are dealing with it by not associating with her, as many other people will if she doesn't learn some compassion. So in the end, her rotten sense of humor leaves the joke on her.

Hopefully, she will learn to cut it out but maybe if she does say something to you, you can explain that to her and let her have that to chew on a while to see if it wakes her up or not. No one has to accept that kind of behavior so yeah, take your break from it and I hope you have other friends and such and maybe someday she'll wake up and see reality.
