On the sex before marriage thing, I'd have to say that yes, I'd want to have done so before committing because to me, having that intimate connection is kind of important. It's not the most important thing to me, because the friendship and compatibility otherwise would be, as in how do we deal with problems, strife, anger, etc and also do we have things we can connect with in life such as similar likes in movies, activities etc. However, it does fit in with things and I wouldn't want to really be married to someone that I did not feel enjoyed having sex with me, let alone me liking it with her. Of course, if there was some medical issue or something, that would be different.. but well some people sexually just are not meant to be. I can see why some people think teenage sex and pre-marital sex is bad but the only way I can really see it as a bad thing is if the people doing so are doing unprotected sex and not being responsible, as well as not considering each others' feelings on the matter. I just don't want to hear people whine and cry if they have a kid or get some STD from unprotected sex because the info is out there for most of us. Also, STDs happen if people are not careful and do not use protection. If teens do the responsible thing, the numbers of STDs amongst them would drop considerably. With the way the law works in some places though, where people feel sex education should not be taught properly, well...it shows that teens are going to have sex anyway and because they aren't taught responsibility, they end up hurting themselves. If you know what to look for and do things right, that's not a real issue. As a joke but on a serious note, my grandfather used to tell me to 'wrap it before you tap it' and well, as funny as it is, it's so true that being responsible is the way to go. If some people prefer abstinence, I think that's fine and dandy, but for others of us, it's kind of illogical to do if we are going steady with someone. Laws shouldn't be implemented more than they are, to me, just because some people are foolish or others are preferring abstinence. No one is telling anyone to go have sex, just because the law isn't against it. It's your choice.
