As Snow ran toward Typhlosion, Ethan commanded his Pokémon. "Typhlosion, Defense Curl, now!" Typhlosion did as Ethan said, and literally curled up into a ball, defending itself against Snow's magic attacks. While Blizzard wasn't very effective, Water still managed to deal some good damage on the Pokémon. "Alright, now counter-attack with Quick Attack!" Typhlosion un-curled before charging at Snow with great speeds, ramming itself into the l'Cie. Typhlosion jumped back near Ethan. "You okay?" Typhlosion nodded, ignoring the damage done to it. Meanwhile, Shadow had been slowed down by Vanille's spell. "Hmph. Slow me all you want. I'm still faster than you." Shadow said in a slow-mo voice before using... "Chaos Control!" Shadow then warped from his position to behind Vanille, where he roundhouse kicked her in the side. Since he was still "slowed", it didn't have as much force behind it as he intended, but it still dealt damage. He then teleported back to his original position, where the Slow effect wore off. "Foolish."

Shadow fired off several small yellow energy spears at Serah.
