I love it! I seriously love it! <3 Her upper body has this petite feeling, but it just suits her character so that's cool. There's not much folders in her outfit, but sometimes that's not needed - just in the most obvious spots can be enough. It's the flow feel of it all I highly approve of, I just can't help but smiling everytime I look at her! :D Lovely piece of art, I envy your skills. I take the courage to demand that you colour this, in MS Paint if you feel comfortable with it. Just one question - what is the workfile for MS Paint? I must know... I wanna be able to make more detailed pictures with that program too. *edit* Oh, I just noticed she doesn't have any eyebrows! Her cuteness blinded me, heeh.. ^^;;
I haven't heard of the manga, so I haven't read it. Though I'll give you some cnc. I like your profile of the heads, they can be frikkin tricky to pull off right. (I have some trouble with them myself, so ya) Maybe make their noses bigger, if it's part of their character or if they're just meant to have petite ones. The hair looked pretty decent - maybe add some harder shades sometimes to make it less neutral/flat? Yes, that would help for the depth of the hair, though it takes so little to fix it. The boy (I think it's a boy... in manga you can never really know anymore.... person to the left) looks OK with the slim body. The girl... Not so much. Her head ended up too big for her body, or I can't really put my finger on it - there's something that does not compute. I'm not so sure what you should do here: if she is older than the guy you could make her taller and add more flesh to the upper body and arms. Her thumb has an acward angle, though. Kinda looks rubber like, you know? Look at you own, it will naturally bend inwards to the hand. Use your own as a reference and it will help you loads. :3 I hope this was useful cnc, it's a pretty good drawing overall. :3 It has this distance yet a connection between the characters, that's pretty cool. :)
Not a bad size avatar wise, though if you want to let people use them for something like a more detailed avatar, a signature or as a reference (basicly every artist needs reference, I wouldn't say no to some :3) you'll want them as big as you can make them. I think that's what Cin meant.
I've seen through your pictures in this thread now, and I can only say that you are a very promising artist. Great to see that you work with realistic style too! :D My crit for your earlier pictures would be to avoid making the lineart so noticable for realism, since you are using pencils you should only let the darkest parts be sharp and leave the light parts light. In other words, avoid making a too neutral lineart. :3 The Cloud picture looks very good, especially the shading are pretty acurate to me. :) The arms looks a little too short, mainly the part of the arms closest to the shoulder joints ended up too short imo. You'll want to study how arms work, how far they can reach, and how far the elbows will be able to reach in a pose like Cloud is pulling right now. Also, Cloud's left shoe (as in his left) can be made a tiiiny amount bigger, for pespective's sake. It will give the impression that this foot is the closest to the viewer. Feel free to add shadows to the ground, even if he doesn't look like he's floating in mid air in this picture. (believe me, that's a rare thing I see when people don't add shadows on the ground) Other than that it's pretty awesome! :> I would like to see some more from you in the future.
The white pixels in the lineart kinda ruins it, though. If there is a way to remove that I recommend you do so. There's something about the background that is too messy, just be careful to not let it steal the attention of Yugi, OK? *don't be affraid of tutorials - it's a good way to learn something new to add to your own style, trust me on that. :> Some are just confusing at start, that can't be helped. Took me a year to figure out what layers were*
The only crit I can give you is to make Sasuke more a part of the signature, let him fit in with the background some more. It is mostly noticable in the light parts of him, try to add a hint of reflection caused by the bg colours. (skin, sleves)
