He took off his ring and tossed it in front of her.
"I've got a new little princess now since you don't care about me." He said as he lifted Garnet onto his shoulders.
"Because you were the only one I had...before now."
He walked over to her and clutched her chin to make her look at him. "So, you want me to stop acting like a child, hm?"
He gently picked her up and put her down next to him. "Did you catch the little traitor?"
He purred in contentment.
He moved her hand so she was stroking his hair. "Puppet, if you see Luana, capture her and bring her to me."
He moved her hand onto his head.
"No. They are a reminder of my flaws."
He rested his head on her lap.
"...Please do."
He hugged her tightly as he sobbed on her shoulder.
He looked over to her with a pained expression on his face.
"Now's your chance to get closer to Dad, Gem."
He cradled the baby in his arms.
He laid down on his bed, not caring that the hilts dug painfully into his back.
He didn't answer as he headed to his room.
"You can't. No one can."
He reached a hand up to his older self's back, planning to remove one of the daggers. He grabbed his wrist before he could reach it.
"Then you can never accept me." He said as he struggled to his feet with the daggers still in his body and headed home.
