Oooo... We only have icy temperature here. But I have seen loads of tiny birds after I hung up some fat meant for them to eat, and the other day I saw a squirrel munching on one of the trees surrounding our house. It squeaked angrily at me because I was taking many pictures of it, and it jumped off the "cliff" if that's what you can call it here.. X3 Though I think it's been stressful for every year that passes, it's liek we don't have time to enjoy anything about Christmas anymore. We may not even have a Christmas tree this year because there's this new heavy oven standing on the tree's spot that's been there for a year now - and nothing has been done about it. So it looks like we'll have to decorate the oven instead. *shrugs*
I've already reported this so now all we do is wait.
I like DestinyStar.... Plz keep it.
That is true.... I can only asume it's the work of a mod.... or a bug in the system. I guess in the end it doesn't matter.
Can I have...?
Apparently a "Xaldin" was pulled... IOW, one of the staff was messing with your minds and the worst part is that I missed it!!! Anywhoo.... Anyone gotten in the Christmas mood yet? The nostalgic type I mean, not the forced type.
The only thing I spotted so far is the shoulders on the girl in the middle. It's like you can't see that the shoulder is a joint of the body. You don't really have to, but if you show the shape of the shoulder (round) more it could get better. Try it to see if you like it more. *wait... I'm the first to give constructive crit to you..?* o: I always thought it'd be wise to say why something is wrong and how to fix it. Otherwise, how are you supposed to know what needs changes?
He's in chibi mode..? Very thin line between normal and chibi in this case. :3 The only thing I noticed was that the left (his right) arm is too short. I know you thought of the perspective rule and all, but it ended up too short. It should be lenghtened, but you're already finished with the drawing and everything so nevermind that.
Well, he does look young.... If you want him to look like we all know (and love) him, you need to make the head look less round - when character's faces are mostly round it makes them look like a child or teenager. Vexen's face is more like.... a triangle with an obvious jaw, so it's also more square like. So try changing to that if you want original Vexen. The source of the neck is too far to the right - it should be in the center of the upper body, because it's part of the spine bones in the back. If you keep that fact in mind you can lightly draw the spine, and then build up the body from there. If you want any tips on the body.... I think you have to ask GIIIIIIIIIRLZ :D for suggestions, she probably knows everything you want to know in that area. :3
Great... Another random forum event I missed out on.... <<
I honestly didn't notice the text before you mentioned it. It seems to crowd up a lot in the sigs, there's so much action that it might be too much. Most of all there's a lot happening in the parts in the left and right of the sigs, if there's a way to calm it down more I suggest you do that, make it more part of the background. But remmeber not to leave out the guy if you do so, or else he may be the one to stand out too much.
I love your edited versions a lot - both the bright one and more visible one look good imo. Very suitable font for the little text you have. Very classy. :3 Most sigworthy I've seen today.
*for commenters* If we like or don't like the akuroku thing doesn't matter, in any way - our suggestions for the drawings are more importaint in this thread. IMO. */end mini rant* The way you draw Axel makes him seem very young - almost like Roxas' age. I'd say it's because of the eyes, they're big and more youthful compared to the slim and trixter like ones he really has. The shape of the head are also youth like, his would be more of a young adult. Which is also more slim and less round. So if you think about that for any next pages you can really create a contrast between Roxas and Axel, and Axel will look much more threatning. Which is good. You've good some nice ideas with the panels, but it seems to me that you have skipped some parts to make the story whole. It seems kinda too sudden in my opinion, and maybe even harder to understand if you're not familliar with the original story already. If you haven't already, write down a script of how your story will go and adjust it to comic, something like this: Chapter (if there's more than one) Page 1 Panel 1 *dialogue, content* Panel 2 *dialogue, content* Panel 3 *dialogue content* etc Page 2 Panel etc It will be much easier to plan out how you want the pages to be like, and how to create the gap on the last panels that will make the reader want to find out what happens next. For this page you have this gap, where Axel looks like he's about to become agressive unless Roxas obeys him. I have read in a book that each page will have something between 4-8 panels, and each manga chapter will have something around 15-30 pages. If you feel like you want to continue, please do. This is very good practice if you want to work with comics one day.
Lol, I remember seeing your fishbone Sora earlier.. X3 But like Orange said, propotions could need some minor adjustments. Problem is, you probably aren't familliar with using stick figures and guiding lines as you draw. I suggest that you start using that when building up a character, because you will have much more control over what goes and what doesn't compared to if you just draw what you see. ( I don't want to use the word copy/tracing, but it is similliar since it's the same pose and chaarcter you're going for that already excists - but it's not a bad thing! The only way you will learn is to copy what other artists have done before you, it's how you learn how to write letters is it not? :3 ) So since you have the skills, advance your techniques. Build up everything with stick figures and orbs/cubes for any joints. Trust me - in my case I cannot do without.
*lol, looks like you got Vaan too on that quiz, eh? So I'm not alone then* You've got a very nice way to take the shading to your potential - usually the risk of it looking choped up and bad is high, but when I see yours on these drawings it gives this nostalgic feeling that I like a lot. In your case, shadows aren't needed for this particular style because you make it work well without. The lineart is strong and that helps out with your shading. I just got to say this right now - that way you draw the hair is pure love. It definatly looks true to what you have intended. The chin under the mouths of the first drawing looks too short. Kind of. I'd want to see it slightly lower since that would seem more natural. The nose of the girl should be more of a sharp triangle like the boy's, or I don't know how her nose is meant to be built up like. But right now it looks odd for reaching down to the very top of the lip - there should be space in that area. I like your choice of pose in the 2nd drawing, but it you create folds caused by the back and shoulders it will make him seem less flat in the upper body. Think of the spine and how it will go, that will help. Very nice drawings! I'd love to see more from you. :3
I'm sure you can open it on MS Paint and resize it there if you're having problems with only PhotoShop and not the file itself. If that doesn't work, maybe make it your desktop and screencapture it?
Why hasn't anyone commented...? >> I always did love the FF covers since they always had a very good potensial being made into a signature. I love your choise of colours - they're not the original orange-blue theme but they still work well. Especially the green on the right part of the armour I like a lot! *thumbu for that* The grey lines rising from the bottom I don't quite know if I like, I just don't know what it's purpose to the signature is. Which makes me ask if it is really needed? It's almost distracting. It's shown in the avatar too, not much but still confusing imo. Very very lovely otherwise.
It will melt in your tongue..... Very useful if someone steals your teeth. And Non Stop is a must, especially for any event like a birthday party, you can decorate with it. Like I did, but my sister is dangerous since it won't be long before she eats it. :x You gotta have the hat. :>
Kitty, looks like we'll have to invite you to the land of Vikings - and the Freia factory. You have sooooo much you need to taste.... It's a crime not to! *points* Actually, this goes for all members of the forum.
Lucky..... All I have is a medal that is made of chocolate. Though that won't last. *munches*
