I really have no idea. I'm not going to say it's ridiculous because even if people basing it on a calender is, the scientific facts that something catastrophic will happen in our lifetime because of climate change, pollution, melting glaciers and ice and other realistic things like is not. If anything happens, I'm not sure it'll be the "end of the world" or in 2012, but I do count on something pretty awful happening soon that affects the vast majority of the world and not just a small island or region.
