Merry is one of the few animes this season that actually has a plot though. I mean personally so far it has that D.Gray-man feel to it, at least in the last 3 episodes. I mean yeah it has a few moments of fan service, but they don't drag it on forever like most shows are doing nowadays.

I agree completely. Being a fan of the show myself, I mean its cute and funny... but not once did I even try to compare it to some of the beyond superior anime I've seen. I mean k-on doesn't have a plot of any kind, especially in the second season. To be honest the only reason I watched it because it was airing when I did so it was one episode per week. But yeah, there's a lot of moe shows starting to pop up... not sure if they will ever come close to k-on, and frankly I hope they don't for the industry's sake.
