Alright... how about this. I'll pick a date (probably this Friday or Saturday) where I'll change the rep to say 500 for at least 48 hours. During said time, report back in this thread on how laggy it is/isn't for you. If I get enough people saying it loads too slow, after the 48 hours I'll install the comments left mod and split it half and half with the 10 (or maybe a slight increase) of the rep received. We will continue looking for a way to seperate the rep from the CP for the future.

Virtual dub is probably the worse thing you can use for gifs. I haven't personally used GIMP, but I can almost guarantee you it would be better then how you were doing it before.

What are you using to make these? 51 frames for that short a gif is very unnecessary. In photoshop you just delete duplicate or frames that don't really look needed. I mean I cut your original size in half just getting rid of all the duplicate frames. Now by default the gif plays noticeably faster (at least in firefox), since deleting frames makes the transition faster. But changing to speed of an individual frame or frames doesn't change the file size. So I slowed this one down: Notice it's the exact same size as my faster one. So I can successfully take your original 51 frames and make it 29 just by deleting the duplicates. It's also 142.61 KB instead of the original 342.82 KB I didn't even have to try and find which frames were not needed to make it fit the file size. I highly recommend getting Photoshop CS5 if you plan on making more gifs in the future.
Interesting. Well that mod does do what you suggested, but it's displayed on the same page (the user cp above the reputation recieved). I wouldn't mind installing that, but I would probably leave the reputation recieved count at 10 for lag purposes. So I guess it comes down to do you want half and half (rep left/rep recieved) or just a slightly longer list of rep recieved.

Unfortunately no, it's only a global option in the admin cp. Meaning either everyone has it or no one does. Well that's the reason it's at 10 for now. Increasing it to a slight number such as 15 or so wouldn't make much of a difference, but yeah beyond that there's going to be a some lag for a lot of people when loading their settings. If it was possible to make it a separate page or let users have control of their individual preferences, then increasing the number wouldn't be as much of an issue. As for temporarily doing it, we'll see.

Increasing the number of viewable rep will only make the list longer, it doesn't get seperated into pages after a certain number. So it can get laggy for a lot of folks when loading their settings.
This can be done, the setting is currently set at 10 but can be increased. This isn't possible to my knowledge.
