The video is all done. :D I mean, yeah. Unless someone else joins or drops out, it is completely finished and timed to the song.

Ace, Maka, Sabby, What? and Catastrophe are the only lines I'm waiting for. If they can get their's in. Ace is the only one I haven't checked in with.

Maka, Sabby and What? say they'll have theirs in tomorrow.

Cat hasn't answered me and I haven't asked Ace.

    Introduction

Welcome to Role Play Idol! An original role play competition! 'Original' role playing (on KHV) is the acting out of a particular character you create yourself, from scratch. From name and age to bio and personality, you create this character and act them out in a story-like format with other players.

So, do you enjoy role playing, competitions, or just writing in general? What about if you need help sharpening your role play skills, want to get back into it (or start it), or want to meet and interact with new people or role players? This competition may be for you!

We're back for another fun Season. Hopefully this one will be more organized. ;D For those of you who competed or judged last time, take a look here to suggest some things to help this one run smoother!

Uh, sure. But what is it?

This will be an OC (original character) competition, meaning that each contestant will have one original character to create and compete with throughout. There will be a different 'season' each month, but this is for season two. If you sign up for season two, you do not have to compete in season three or onwards. The competition will last however long it lasts, at this point, lol.

There will be several different challenges and themes, and this will work in an 'American Idol' style. There will be four judges. You can not compete and be a judge at the same time, but no matter who you are, you can apply to be a judge. There will be no more than 12 contestants a season.

At the end of each challenge, the panel of judges will give their critiques to each member on their performance, and there will be a vote off period. Contestants and judges will be able to vote for their favorites, with no voting for themselves of course. The prize will of course be being crowned KHV's Role Play Idol for season two, and you also receive a pin!

Okay, so I can just sign up and do whatever I want then?

...No, lol. Here are some guidelines/rules.

♣ There is no voting for yourself and when you vote, you must put a valid reason for why you're voting for who you're voting for in a post.

♣ Please be original. Your character cannot be from another anime, game, etc, unless the challenge causes for them to be.

♣ Your entry OC must be as simplified as possible. That means no powers or anything weird like that. Why? Because some of the challenges might conflict with that. Don't worry, the competition isn't that straight edge. You'll get to play with some powers.

♣ No god-modding. Yes, this still applies. No power playing.

♣ Do not ignore the other contestants. Interact with everyone fairly.

♣ Activity will be important, but you have three days to post between challenges and voting periods.

♣ Try to stay in character.

    ♣ A judge cannot be a contestant.

♣ You must have two characters. A girl, and a boy. They can be the same person, just gender flipped with different names if you want, but you'll see why this matters later.

♣ Don't bring drama into this. If you're paired up with someone you dislike during a challenge, and/or you get voted out, don't rage. Just deal with it, or try again next time.

♣ You cannot have your friends vote for you. I think I said it before, but people outside of the competition can vote for the contenders, but must provide a valid reason for doing so--like everyone else. If I find out you've asked your buddy to go vote for you and BS some reason, you will be disqualified. It is unfair and dishonest. Same goes for constantly voting for your friends, and for not voting at all. All contestants and judges are required to vote, FAIRLY.

♣ I reserve the right to add more rules before the competition starts, so check back here often if you decide to sign up!

Alright, whatever. How do I sign up?

Just fill out the sign up form below and wait for the fun to begin. :] This form can be short, by the way. You don't have to work hard at it. Remember, two characters. Male and Female.

There are TWELVE slots open for contestants (if less than that sign up, then we'll rearrange some things). FOUR judge slots open. There's no way you'll be denied, if you apply. I won't 'not' accept you, so give it a shot.

    Bio:

Wait, what does a judge do, then?

If you are a judge, your job is to read the posts, and follow the competition. Before the poll goes up, all of the judges will critique every contestant on their performance, and state who they think is the winner. The judges will have to have private conversations to mutually agree on who is the winner for that challenge (majority vote), and that person is immune from the poll. You guys aren't actually apart of the competition, but you help with the voting process, and eventually, crowning the winner. Your sign up is nonexistent, anyone can be a judge, even if you don't role play. Just be fair and send me a private message. Anyone posting on this thread about wanting to be a judge will be tsk'd and denied. First come, first serve. You cannot be a judge repetitively.

    New Rules and Guidelines;

If you are a judge this time, you cannot be a judge for season three. However, you can be a judge for season four.

I would prefer the judge have MSN, because that's where most of the discussion will be taking place and it's the easiest. Either that or access to Voxli if the majority of the judges don't have MSN.

You'll have to write--a lot for each person, twelve in total, and you can't be lazy about it. You must post ON TIME, at least two paragraphs for each and every member, no exceptions UNLESS it's later in the Season and there's really nothing to be said. That's a total of 24 paragraphs required for the first round. This is so that all members get equal feedback and equal footing and chance to improve. If I can't get in touch with you for judging, or you don't get online, or you don't post your critiques, or aren't there for the group discussions without adequate reason and discussion with me, etc, etc, you will be dropped and replaced as a judge with a back-up judge and also be placed on probation for future seasons.

Probation is more of a detention period, in this case. Meaning that you also will not have access to becoming a judge until later Seasons when enough time has passed. The reason for this is because it is entirely unfair to me, the other judges and the contestants for you to be inconsistent, or deem the work is too hard for you and just leave, lol. Please do not sign up for this job unless you can stick with it until the very end. Of course, this all excludes EMERGENCIES. So if something suddenly happens, like someone dies, or your power blacks out for a month or something, or your falling wayyy behind in school or something (and you don't have a history of claiming so and remaining super active everywhere else) then okay no punishment and it's understood. The last competition took two months for reference on how long you'd be committing. (It'd probably not be that long this time around.)

I don't really feel comfortable throwing RP stuff in the Spam Zone. xD But the main RP section gets more traffic than the Discussion Section, so I could post something there. :] I was planning on making an RP Idol scoreboard type thing so we could put it there in the main section.

You both did absolutely awesomely. Congratulations to the both of you for making it this far. The judges have been talking about it and reading your posts...

    Over the challenges, you all have received the following critiques;

Something to be worked on I think is the presentation. The colors were readable (default forum skin user), and there were a lot of ellipses. "..." is a pause, remember. So when you read your post it was almost more of a poem than a 'story', to me. It was still lovely, though. Very creative.

There were a few cases were the ellipses became too repetitive. It detracted from the confused sensation that you were creating at times by extending the pauses out too much.

Insults aside, the spacing you have is a little awkward. It looks almost as if you push the Enter key a little too often.

Ellipses were still used a bit in over-abundance but you definitely show growth, which is very important. Now, content-wise...Your posts are always very real.

Alright, so like Jayn had mentioned, there was still a bit of overuse of ellipses. I think that you could have cut them out at some parts, which to me seemed like they would have had a better effect without the pause.

Nice post...just try not to squeeze out extra awesome when it doesn't need to be there.

Also, what tends to get me about your posts is though they are creative and fun, the format is a little odd. The paragraphs are broken up so that looking at it makes me feel like I'm looking at a poem, and not an RP post. As for ellipses, you've definitely cut down, but there are still quite a few unnecessary pauses.

All of your posts so far have been pretty witty and creative. xD And while there was one or two unnecessary pauses, I thought you did a really good job with the ellipses.

Your formatting has improved, though towards the end it started to look like a poem again. imo. xD It's obvious you're paying attention to the critiques. I tried to explain what I meant by spacing things out a bit in the quote above.

You did very well with the detail. I like how you gave insight on the character's usually behaviors and person as well. Howeverrrrr, the person (or style) you wrote in in the beginning threw me off. I felt myself confused more often than I wanted to be, which is probably my own problem. The 'she thinks' part was a bit repetitive, to me in the beginning so I'm glad it didn't continue. As the piece went on and continued, it got better and better. You did extremely well.

First off, the last thoughts of your character were hard to read. Don't use the default purple ever! EVAR. Your choice of narrative was a little awkward and that's really my main complaint. It just...didn't feel as good as it could've been. It just takes away from the feeling of the post. Technically speaking it was well written and everything but the narrative of it just makes everything worded awkwardly. I like what you did but my suggestion is to go with traditional Third Person.

I was thrown off a bit by the style in which you chose to write it. It's definitely unique.

Alright. Um. I feel like this was just a bit rushed.

While technically speaking there's nothing wrong with your post...It is underwhelming considering it's you who's writing this. Even with a short post your character is great but I guess I just expected more. Though in light of the circumstances, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.

Amazing, as usual. Your posts weren't actually overwhelmingly long. xD You found a nice balance, as I saw in the last challenge your post was surprisingly short, and in this they were consistently pleasant. Good luck in the finale.

This must be so agonizing for you guys.

No, but seriously the winner is... /troll

    Chesterfield! *Balloons and crap*

You were amazing through and through. Great job to you. You also get the first RP Idol pin EVER...When (insert name here) finishes it for me. :'D Congratulations, you are the Role Play Idol.

And congratulations to Bushy for making it this far. Good luck to you in the future. :]

Aha, you weren't bad at all! >: Everyone who says they're gonna be awful at this never is. And if my opinion of you depended on whether or not I thought you could sing, I'm probably taking this 'music' thing a bit too far.

Clawtooth suggested the same thing. If this first one goes well and it continues, then there will be a poll so everyone who wants to contribute gets a chance, but "Want You Gone" would definitely be on that poll.

If you want out, then I'll edit you out, lol. But no one cares how good you are. I mean, it's just for fun and the more voices the better. xD

However, if you don't mind being in it, then I ask that you record your parts anyways. I really don't...want to edit the video again, if I don't have to. It's kind of a pain-- *Shot* No, but seriously, it's your choice but you are contributing to the finished product. If you're worried about other people not getting a line they want, then I could re-open your parts just in case someone wants it and I'll edit you out if someone does take your spot, and otherwise I'll keep you in?

Well, I can't really say. At this pace, it could be finished before the deadline. Howeverrr, there's bound to be the ones who don't turn in their lines until the day before or the day of and it won't -really- be complete until everyone's lines are in.

There's only one empty part right now. The "I'm not even angry...". For a few seconds, it's all instrumental. But the rest is actually pretty filled up. I'll be content when I can listen to the song in Reaper with no empty parts. That means that if someone doesn't pull through, or quits last minute, it's still 'done'. But until the gaps are closed, it's not.

Anywhere that isn't crossed out isn't taken. The full parts aren't that long. I mean, if you record on Monday, you should be able to do one of the not-crossed out parts, since it's not split up into one-liners. xD

"So I'm GLaD. I got burned.
Think of all the things we learned
for the people who are" This line.

    And;

    "And tore me to pieces.
And threw every piece into a fire.
As they burned it hurt because I was so happy for you"

Are pretty short. I don't know what your vocal range is, so the latter part would be at a...less-high pitch. xD

@Kayate: Yeah, I feel brainwashed. ._. Still Alive, everywhere.
