Thank you, Slaughter. c:

And yes, Saxima. I'll send you the pictures and stuff.

How this'll work...Most of the time I'll be doing something. I think there may only be a couple of times I let you guys take care of everything, just as a test-run sort of thing encase that actually needs to happen. But for the most part, it won't.

But let's pretend I fell down some stairs and broke my arms, but for some reason I'm hysterical about keeping KHVchorus going. ...This is something I would probably do, lolol. I would maybe contact ya'll through Fuzzy Blue or something.

Lines will be sent to KlaireCross (I'll forward it) or directly to the Mixer's email/profile, or posted on forums. (No PMs or VMs to me this time, but you can PM or VM the Mixer).
Graphic Artists will send their FINISHED pictures to the Animator.
The Mixers will send their FINISHED MP3 to the Animator.

The animator will put it all together and upload it to the KHVChorus Youtube. They will be provided the password, etc. They will also post it, if they want. If they don't have the time, I'll post it.

Remember, the above is a hypothetical situation. It does not go into affect unless I state otherwise, so continue things normally for now. xD

So far, Saxima has been hired for a graphic artist position, and Cloudrunner62 has been hired for an animator position.

If you've applied, but I've not gotten back to you officially, I will. I haven't forgotten. Also, there will be more than one of each position. So if you still want to apply for something, go ahead. The more help, the better.

@Heart; Vote changed.

Smiling!

Stats.

3 out of 30 solos OPEN

18 out of 20 quartets OPEN.

4 out of 11 duets OPEN.

Chorus CLOSED TO NEW PARTICIPANTS. OPEN TO THOSE ALREADY IN THE CHORUS. ANY LINES CLAIMED BY NO ONE ARE OPEN AS SOLOS. ALL OTHER LINES ARE CLOSED, DESPITE NOT BEING STRIKED OUT BECAUSE I AM LAZY.

Notes;

IGNORE what is written below about solos/lines. You may have two solos and five lines all together. I edit this on the 18th, depending on the activity this song gets. This song is meant for more than one person, and it's meant to be a LARGE collaboration. Please join if you have enough time!

This was our randomly picked song.

I feel this song needs a bit of background. Smiling is a song dedicated to Nico Nico Douga. Some of you may have heard of Nico Nico Chorus. There are a lot of singers that come together in that community. Nico Nico Douga is like the Japanese Youtube. This song is pretty popular for choruses, but I've never seen an English one...

Anyway, the lyrics are pretty much talking about their bond, and coming together as one voice, yadda yadda...being there for each other. All of that good stuff. It's an extremely heartfelt, feel-good song.

That being said, despite most of you probably having no idea what this song is, it would be great to have a good amount of participation. Besides, I think variety is great. We've been doing a lot of popular songs, with the exception of Deck'd, and to branch out and do something new will be good for us. If you've got the time and are willing, please help out and learn the song.

I had to loosely translate/make the lyrics singable for us. It gets the same message across, all in all. But I apologize for any massive mistakes.

This song is made for lots of solos, and then a gradual coming together.

I'm going to split the lyrics up normally to gauge interest. If interest is so little that it's necessary, I will expand parts and this'll become a smaller chorus attempt than usual...But I'm hoping we can all come together and give this a short.
Pay attention. If you mess up on a word or a line, please do it over. Sometimes it really hard to fix your mistake. I know it can be time consuming, but it's worth it.
Your lines are due BEFORE the listed date. If you have to drop out, drop out TWO DAYS prior at the latest. This is a new requirement. I'm tired of late minute drop outs. Please help me out by giving me enough time to work with your dropping out, if you must do so.

What is this?

It's just a collaboration type musical thingy with KHV members. Anyone can join. ANYONE. All you have to do is post the lines you want, record them, and send them to me on time.

If you weren't in the previous choruses, I need you to find a picture for me to edit for you. High quality anime pictures can be found here: http://www.zerochan.net

It doesn't have to be anime, it can be anything. It just has to be HIGH quality, and LARGE enough for me to work with. Not giant. But a nice size. Bigger than our avatars. Once you turn in a suitable picture, you'll never have to again unless you want to for future chorus stuff.

So yeah, if you want to find another picture for me even if I have one, let me know. Otherwiseeee, for anyone who -hasn't- given me a picture yet at all, please do so.

There are no auditions, no microphone restrictions. It doesn't matter if you think you're an amazing singer, or if your mic is fuzzy, all I ask if that you have fun with it and turn your parts in!

The Song?

Here.
I'm sorry it's awful. I'm so sick right now.

Again, if there are any mistakes in the written lyrics, please let me know. I spent a few days writing them, but I tend to still miss things. xD

Edit; There's one part I think I sang might, when it should have been 'may'. The lyrics are correct, I am wrong. *__*

How to Record.

For those of you who aren't sure how to go about recording yourself singing it, there are several different programs you can use. Audacity is a free program. I use Reaper, which is also free for evaluation.

What I'd like to ask if that you sing along with the instrumental/main track for timing, but your finished track not have the instrumental. For example, if you make two different tracks in a program, and record yourself singing on one track and have the instrumental on another track or playing on youtube or something while you sing your part, when you send it to me I would like to just hear your voice and not the instrumental. It is MUCH better for you to be too quiet than too loud. If you're quiet, I can turn your volume up. If you're too loud and your mic peaks, I have to turn your volume way dowwwn.

You can sing along with the instrumental, and it's okay if the instrumental/main song is heard faintly in your recording, so long as it doesn't overpower you. For those of you who decide to use Reaper, I can show you a detailed tutorial on how to do it.

Here's an Audacity tutorial written by P for Mulan, but whatever;

How to Use Audacity

Getting the Stuff

Go here and download the version for your computer. (Use the 1.3 series.) Install it in the manner appropriate for your OS.

Go here to download and save the Mulan instrumental to somewhere on your computer. (Or whatever instrumental you may be using.)

Opening the Instrumental

Open Audacity. You'll should see this.

Open the Mulan instrumental with Audacity. In a Mac, it's File>Open. Navigate to where you saved the Mulan instrumental, and open it.

You should now see this. There are two tracks, for the two stereo tracks.

Recording

Open the Audacity preferences and look under the 'Recording' tab for the Overdub option. Make sure it is ticked, so you can hear the instrumental as you record. Mine looks like this, but yours may be slightly different.

Press the red button up top. A new track will begin to record, as can be seen here

Listen through the instrumental until you get to the part with the lines you need to sing, at which point, sing them. When the song is finished, press the yellow, square stop button. You should end up with something like this.

Fixing Errors

Of course, you'll probably screw up somewhere. That's why you can do it multiple times. Click mute on the mistake'd track, as in here. Next, click before the area where you made a mistake and press the record button. You can now sing the part again. When you're done, press the stop button. You'll end up with this. You can do this procedure as many times as needed, until all lines are correct on at least one track.

Editing

Now we have to delete everything except the lines you're gonna use. (You can now unmute any muted tracks.) We want to use the Split Delete tool. You do this by selecting the unwanted lines, as in here, and using Split Delete on it. On a Mac, the shortcut for it is Option+Command+K, but on a PC, at a guess, it would be Alt+Control+K. It will yield this result.

Continue doing this until you've only got your lines left. Mine looks like this.

Now we remove the instrumental track too, by pressing the X on the top-left of those two tracks. We're left with this.

Sending to Jayn

Now the hard work is done, we just need to export it. Go File>Export, and choose where to save the file. Make sure it is in WAV format. It'll look somewhat like this.

Ignore this metadata thing that pops up. Just hit 'OK'. Likewise, hit OK on the Mono Channel warning.

You're done! Now go and upload your file to some filehost, or email it to Jayn.

Rules?

• Have fun!
• Send your lines to klairecross@gmail.com in MP3 or WAV format OR provide a download link for me in this thread, PM or VM.
• You may have FOUR parts (FOUR lines), and a maximum of FOUR people can sing one part together--EXCEPT for the lines in [brackets]. Those are solos, so only one person can claim those. This rule may be changed depending on how many people are interested.
• These Kawaii Desu things here --> { ♥ } <-- are for duets. Only TWO people can claim those.
• The lines in black should be recorded by everyone.
• First come first serve for lines, but the deadline is January 24th. That means turn in your lines BEFORE then.
• Once a line is striked out, it means it's not available anymore.
• Please RESERVE your lines before you record. You can post here with what lines (FOUR max, but not three solo parts) you want. I will update the thread with who's singing what part, and what lines are all reserved out.
• When you send your lines to me, you can either have your lines timed to the instrumental in ONE long file !TIMED TO THE INSTRUMENTAL!, or you can record all of your lines separately and send them to me that way in a ZIP or RAR file.
• Once again...TIME your vocals. Sing to the TIMING of the song. Sing to the song.
• Remember that I don't actually want to hear the song behind your vocals. If you sing along, wear headphones so your mic doesn't pick it up OR have the song really low while you record. If I hear it, the audience will too and that makes it sound bad.
• Please help fill out the song. If you have the time, please pick four parts. REMEMBER to record the BLACK LINES. Otherwise, when the chorus sings together, your voice will not be included.
• Anyone can sing the black lines, but I'm less likely to fit you into the video if the only thing you sang were the black lines. (When it's much harder to fit everyone in to begin with.)

Lyrics/Parts:

Black Lines = EVERYONE records that part.
{ ♥ } = Duets. TWO people can claim that part online.
[ ... ] = Solos. ONE person can claim that. Only ONE solo per singer. This MAY change depending on how many people join.
♂ = Male
♀ = Female
// = Anyone can sing/optional/adlib...Please do the adlibs. I took out a second rap, and it'll just be silence. xD

@Tummer; Ooh, good job. The first dare that actually feels like a dare to me.

Three options.
• I can do this dare when I'm not sick anymore and ruining my throat with KHV Chorus stuffs.
• I can record it normally without the straining pitch increase.
• The dare can be changed all together.
ToD? Short truths.

Happy Birthday!

Notes;

Just post here if you're going to join.
You'll have to depend entirely on the reference, for this one. There aren't many decent instrumentals, and it's more personal this way. Just have fun. ...No, really. This is just a little something we can send KHV people on their birthdays, so if you want to say something at the end like, "derp, happy birthday! have an awesome one." or something, you can.
No lines/slots. Just join, send your crap (sing the whole song), and there you go.

♂ = Male
♀ = Female
// = Anyone can sing/optional.

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday dear Member,
Happy Birthday to you.

(adlibs everywhere, feel good happy things here, birthday wishes...)

@Tequila; Oh, come on. Your dare has us bonding! kukuku.

You have no weapons or phone in your room. The door locks.

You wake up in the middle of the night to a shatter of glass. Figuring it's something from across the street, you close your eyes and begin to drift. That is until you hear gunshots ringing. You can hear a scream coming from within the house, and then some protesting--begging You hear a muffled voice demanding something, and a sob that follows. Then you hear another shot and heavy footsteps.

"There's one more left! Search for valuables, put it all in a double layered black bag and leave it outside of your door. We'll leave this one alive and disappear."

You know they're talking to you. You can hear the sound of a family member struggling. You scramble around to find things that are valuable, doing as your told. All the while they mock you, telling in you're running out of time. Right when you're almost done, you hear a gunshot and the cry of the family member. Your entire family is gone.

"That's too bad...Looks like you've run out of time. But hey, if you leave the bag out, we won't kill you."

You have two options. Put the bag out there and risk getting shot as soon as you step outside of the door. Or you can try to escape out of your window. The real question here is whether or not you'd have the will to escape/attempt survival after your family has been killed.

@Mish; Inactivity. When the forums are dead and there's nothing to do. Hate it. :c

Eva hesitated, for just a moment. How would her mother feel? Would she approve or disapprove of what she was planning to do? She shook her head. Far too long had she depended on and obsessed over her mother. She would have to grow out of it soon enough, and what better a time than now to start? The first thing she would have to do was test Nieve's memory. Instead of wasting time asking her to sit, Eva moved the cake from her lap and placed it on her bedside before pushing Nieve down onto her bed. She tilted her head, watching the girl stare blankly up at her. She felt a rather disgraceful cackle coming on, but she held it in and snickered instead. How exciting.

Her ruby irises locked onto the pendant around her next and she grinned wide. Her pale fingers reached out to remove it, but instead of coming right off, it zapped her. She yelped and brought her fingers to her lips, glaring hard at the emotionless girl before her. She was tempted to punish her somehow, but she shook her head and calmed herself down. Why wouldn't it come off? She shook her head again and sighed softly, planting herself right next to the girl.

"I don't suppose you know."

She scoffed, resting her elbow on her knee and placing her chin in her palm. What was it the Queen had said? Something about a chant or...something...

"Pendant, pendant, on her neck. Please unlock so I can--um...mess with her."

It took a few more useless tries before she remembered her mother had called it an amulet. She repeated some more useless things before she finally remembered. Her mother had been quiet specific. Evalotte blinked, smiling once she had figured it out. She propped herself up as the irritation left her face. "Dark amulet, unlock." That was definitely it. She watched the light return to the young girls eyes, so she calmed her face herself. For this to work, she was going to have to enter another frame of mind. "Hello...? Do you know how I am?"

She hoped not. Her voice was gentle, frail, but on the inside, she was near hysterical with joy.

@Rat;

I think I owe someone a truth...
It's either you or Tummer, so here you go...both/either of you.

If you knew someone who often, casually, spoke of suicide, how seriously would you take it?

For example, let's say I'm that friend. We're out at the movies on day, and we're watching a movie. I mention something cynical about a movie preview we see, stating that the new 3D fad makes me want to kill myself. Of course, I laugh after, signifying it's just a joke. I make these types of jokes often. When you mention it to me one day, I simply shrug and say it's not like it would matter if I did it. But I laugh after that as well, and we go on about our business.

It's not obvious what feelings I'm trying to convey. In other words, I'm not making it painfully obvious that I want to commit suicide--or that I'm just joking. I've always made these types of jokes. Would you ever worry I was serious? Would you ever tell someone, or try to get me help? Or would you think it was just apart of my sense of humor and let it go?

Let's say my personality is pretty normal, just for reference. I like to joke around, but we have our serious moments. My personality doesn't exactly indicate I'd be the type to kill myself, but it does leave room for wondering.

Truth.

That is horrible, but the way you phrased this made me laugh.
Go on.

The thread is open for discussion and to keep tabs on the songs currently in progress. The poll is open because there are still songs to be voted on for the chorus to continue. Suggestions are closed on request, do to the massive amount of songs already on that list.

This thread will never close, regardless of whether or not suggestions are open. We ask questions here, discuss chorus ideas here, and on top of that...if the thread is closed, so is the poll, so it would be impossible to vote.

That is why the thread is open, but I'm not updating the suggestions list.
