Go to Start --> Control Panel --> Hardware & Sound --> Device Manager Under "Sound, video and game controllers" do you have any devices listed? Here's a ss of mine as an example. If you see your audio device in there, right-click it and make sure it is enabled. If it's there and already enabled, try right-clicking it and going to "Update Driver Software".
