Everyone started to part ways and before she knew it, she was standing out in the wet halls of the Bellhurst High--alone. She was grateful to Brian for not denying her a place to stay tonight. As prideful as she was, she knew she would eventually have to go back home. She wondered how many times her mother had tried to reach her on her blown up cell phone--and then her thoughts drifted back and forth between her mother and Reuben, and then briefly to her father. An electrical pop! made her jump back into the auditorium for a brief moment, reminding her of how potentially unsafe the school was. When a few seconds had past, she trudged carefully back out into the quiet hallway. School will probably be out for a while... It wouldn't make much of a difference though, as Winter Break was scheduled to come up on the 12th anyway. If she were completely honest, she was no longer concerned with school. She was tempted to drop out. Maybe she could get her GED or something. She was convinced she would die before the 100 Days were up, so what did it matter? Madeline felt terrible as she approached the exit to Bellhurst and memories of Thomas invaded her skull. She pushed herself quickly out into the open, greeted immediately by a gigantic puddle. She shivered as the water made contact with her dry knees. She felt like crying, but knew better than to unleash here. Of course it seemed the Quin had avoided the puddle completely somehow. She was both amazed by and a tad envious of her grace. The car ride to and from the thrift store was uneventful and quiet. She liked that. Madeline was getting more and more comfortable with this kind of silence. There was no obligation to speak, and it was nice. Quin had let her stay in the car during her shopping, and she used the time to take a short nap and distract herself from hunger. She found that the more time she spent alone, the more she more guilt she felt about Abby. She wondered when that would go away. Quin thanked Brian as soon as they got into the house. Madeline did not. She wanted to, she did, but she couldn't muster one up. She felt ashamed at being here--at tagging along with Quin like a lost puppy. Even if she had asked her to go, she wondered if it were just out of pity. "There are a few places you guys can sleep. There's my bedroom, the guest room, and the living room right here." How awkward. She was tempted to offer to just sleep in Quin's car, but that felt even more invasive somehow. She had no idea where to sleep, but the thought to do so quickly vanished from her mind as she watched Aileen go into the kitchen. She took her wet shoes off by the door, and snuck away into the kitchen herself. Her stomach growled.

She was extremely nervous. She had nearly rubbed her hands raw with all of her fidgeting. She still did not like that Quin had been the one to shoot Abby, and every time she closed her eyes, she envisioned the blue-eyed beauty calm and poised in the center of the stage with the deadly bow and arrow. She was grateful that Quin had not been able to see how frozen she was during her possession. She had wanted to save her, but she was too far away. Not that she had made any attempt to move. She genuinely wondered why. She knew that she cared, and she was terrified of what would happen--especially when the arrow was shot, but she just couldn't move. Jealousy had flared within her when she noticed Altair had saved Quin, but it was soon replaced by relief and acceptance. Well, until Crestatia cursed him--or them, she couldn't tell. Madeline was going to refuse, initially. Though she didn't care much for her mother, she was immensely concerned for the safety of her dresses and laptop. She did not much enjoy Brian's company, either. However, when she registered that Quin was not only asking out of concern but because she wanted her there, her cheeks flushed and her mindset changed completely. She did not want to ruin this--whatever this was. Despite the ...previous events, she was now more confident than ever that she felt something positive for Quin, and that she did not want to abandon her or lose those feelings. "I would like to go..." Her voice sounded strange to her. She bowed her head and stared down at her restless fingers. How frustrating this was. Cherno approached for a brief second and her thoughts fluttered back to Brian. What would he think? Surely he couldn't have been fond of her, either. Since her nasty side had shown everyone seemed 20x more cautious of her. Maybe he wouldn't even let her come? It wouldn't hurt to try.

It seemed to stay molded that way for quite some time before softening slightly. Kallisti's chest raised with a deep sigh. "AL...TA...IR?" She sat up and pushed him off of her with ease. "What did YOU think YOU would ACCOMPLISH by SAVING Kallisti? Did you want to be a HERO? Spare her--the one who DESERVED death--? What GOOD did you think would come from STANDING in the WAY of a DEMON?" She stood up slowly. Her hands were shaking and her eyes flashed again, back and forth. She bit her lip to the point of blood spilling and stumbled back into the shifted spotlight to stable herself. "No GOOD," she mumbled. She seemed extremely disoriented, but her voice was booming still. "NO GOOD AT ALL." The spotlight shut off suddenly and the doors to the auditorium swung open. A small wave of water poured in, losing momentum before even reaching the stage and soaking into the carpet. In the darkness a strained giggle was heard, followed by a short groan.
