That's not what I said nor what I'm trying to say.. However, I feel it's worth noting that it takes two cards to make LaDD weak enough you can run him over, and it takes two cards to kill Quasar. Quasar on the other hand, instead of wiping your field if killed, summons Shooting Star Dragon, which also takes two cards to kill and can't be run over.

But his name isn't Strawberry. That is one meaning that it has, but not the meaning that is intended.

One reason I don't like dubbed versions is because of things like that. If they translate his name as "Ichigo" then they have to make stuff up for the scenes when people call him strawberry and he gets pissed. And if they translate it as "Strawberry" it would sound stupid, and it makes no sense that he would get pissed when people called him that.. But they still have the same frames so they need to make something up for people who have no background knowledge.
Something like that doesn't make much difference, as it's just a throw-away joke, but then if you have something that ends up becoming relevant to the story, you have to change the story in ways that often don't make sense.

I haven't stopped playing.. I've just not happened to play much. Ever since brio being banned I haven't really played that much..[DOUBLEPOST=1364249949][/DOUBLEPOST]I miss how the arena used to be.. How we'd fill up a page or more every day, even after dueling had died down.. I miss watching Terra's Gishki fight, and I miss facing strong decks with my Fables.. I miss Fearless too, and I don't even know her. I miss having arguments about how to beat 'unbeatable' fields, and cards like LaDD.. And I don't really miss arguing with Jaden about what is 'good' and what isn't, but that wasn't that bad.. And now we can go more than 24 hours without a post, and without it being a big deal.

You're right, I'm thinking sideways.. I should probably go back to either playing the game regularly, or looking at the cards >.>

Except you have two lava golems on the field. Attack directly, if they block you're good, if not they take 6k damage, then you overlay for the Heiratic, nuke their face-down, and you still have a card in your hand.

And yeah, I always forget shock master is banned, and then when someone points it out, I go "Of course it's banned, why did I forget that?"

3x trap eater, 2x golem, overlay for shock master declaring traps, they have to stop you. overlay for the Heiratic Xyz and tribute itself to hit their last face-down. You have one card left, and you can win.

mask of restrict isn't an issue because spiritualism. Also.. A rule that says no unbeatable combos is really stupid to apply. I understand why you don't want people going "Exodia, I win." but when you try to apply it to really strong first turns.. The game is decided by the second turn, so you're just saying "You have to make a move that looks like it can be beaten, but your opponent can't beat. If they can beat it, you lose, and if it looks like it can't be beaten you're DQ'd.. So make an unbeatable first move that doesn't look too unbeatable."
Also.. You didn't call unbeatable on quasar stardust stardust assault and four back row when it was used against me, so.. That game ended up with monster effects negating my stuff on six different occasions..

Yeah.. SS 31 times isn't too hard with desynch and brio, plus tuningwares and such. follow that up with CD and you have 9 cards left in deck, set and taiyou morphing jar you're hand five, four left in deck. That's not enough to do anything with. draw you're hand six three left in deck. Even if you can do something, 2x gift of greed for game.

But it's not fun to have to deal with five face-downs, and six monster effects that negate.

Playing here wasn't bad, until we got too good at it. Also, word of advise: If you play against someone who is using customs, ask to see all of their custom cards first. In addition to avoiding broken cards, this lets you know about cards that are unusual.. It's good to know your opponent has a four star with 2500 atk that requires them to pay 1000 LP to attack with before you summon Stardust Dragon.

We play.. Or played.. non-random here. You choose what a given card is only the moment that your opponent would see what it is. If you set a monster, you don't have to decide whether it's Ryko, Sangan, or Morphing Jar until it's flipped face-up, or destroyed. And if they return it to your hand with Compulsory, you can discard it as an effect veiler. If you set a face-down card you don't have to decide whether it's Mirror Force, MST, Solemn Warning, Jar of Greed, or Monster Reborn until you use it, or someone destroys it.
Because of this, there is a very large advantage to being able to go first, as everythingyou do while your opponent has face-downs can be negated.. So at high-level play whoever goes first wins, unless they make a stupid mistake. And because of that, those of us who used to play a lot stopped playing, as it stopped being fun. Then some people tried playing random, or with custom cards, or both.

I vote you make a deck entirely out of monsters whose attacks or defenses end in 500.

Very powerful very situational cards, especially customs, aren't fun to play against in non-random. You don't even know they exist, and then suddenly your opponent goes from defeated to having massive advantage. I don't know whether or not you're literally making up cards to fit the situation.. But it is very hard to believe that you aren't when you use something that's that situational, and if you are then it means that the duel itself is entirely meaningless.. It's just "Can you make a custom card that can counter my awesome custom that only works right now?" and nothing, not hand size, not field strength, not LP, significantly impacts the outcome of the duel.
