While he was able to keep up with the heartless and able to destroy them with great speed, fighting a horde with this knife was far less effective then it was with a keyblade, not that he got the chance to use his yet. He watched as a small group of drakball heartless come out of no where and ended up floating in front of him. They tilted their heads, looking at the sky aimlessly as they rose like black ink from no where to the leveled plain. They looked to him with intense glowing eyes. Their bent teeth showed. One of the darkball heartless jumped towards him, prompting Aux to tilt his head up as he watched the darkball hearless come towards him. The heartless looked down immediately and made a mad gliding dash towards the man. He remained in place as he watched the heartless approach him at an alarming speed. As the darkball heartless prepared to spinn away at his face, He quickly stabbed the darkball heartless by it's head causing it to flail. He glared at the creature as he jumped into the air, the darkball heartless' head still in his palm. As he jumped back down, he swung down his hand, slamming his palm and the heartless' head with it. Now that it was unable to escape becasue of the countless heartless infrount of him. With a heavy swing, he attacked another darkball heartless. The rotund heartless was caught unaware and he threw the darkball heartless into another one. He sent the darkball heartless into it companion. The darkball heartless would at least would take some damage. As much as he wanted to say they were getting close to finishing up their fight here, it was hard to convince himself of that. He looked around and noticed that there were just begining the battle. He fired off a another strike to a wayward darkball heartless. He took a swing at another darkball heartless, taking it out and looking around. It seemed kind of strange how there were so many enemies and yet they did not just completely overwhelm him all at once. It had appeared that he somehow had managed to get the darkballs to slow down. They were slowed down for now but he knew that they would attack soon. It seemed that the stopped darkballs were not going to stay stopped. Taking another deep breath, and ready for the onslot that was sure to come from the darkballs and shadows. With his wepond at the ready the boy charged forward with swift speed rushing towards the darkball heartless. before they could do anything. With a single cut nothing seemed to happen at first, only for the keyblade master to then immediately strike with yet another swing of his weapon the darkball exploded. Another darkball show up this one looking regular size and he took this one one fast too. The heartless were destroyed in an instant, unable to take the raw force of the attack, and dissipated back into the strands of shadow they were made of. He was staring to get the grove of this battling thing but he knew that he was getting tired. With that some of the heartless were now gone. He knew that he would be be able to cut through the heartless even more easily than he had been before, and started to run headfirst into the on coming mob. There was still a gap between him and the next darkball heartless, meaning that he would have to try and make his way further through the battle at hand. There was more fighting to be had before he could ever make it over to the next darkball. He watched as the darkball heartless flew through the air before hinting the ground and disapearing. Perhaps he should have thought things through before throwing a heartless into the air. Spinning himself around he searched around for anyone that was familiar. He still was not quite able to see anyone again. His combo hitting was successful as the one of the darkball heartless faded into darkness. The heartless around him had to have been anticipating his first step because a darkball heartless with a little shadow heartless riding atop its head had flown directly in front of him. The shadow heartless struck first with its claws outstretched and was swiftly swatted it to the side. The darkball heartlesson the other hand was more on the persistent side with its attacks and spent a bit flying around AJ, narrowly avoiding all of his attack that he threw at the heartless. When the heartless thought it say its chance to strike, it opened it mouth and prepared to strike. That proved to be a fatal mistake for He was able to dodge the attack and launch a counter attack of his own. Vaporizing the darkball heartless soon after. As the blonde settled down a bit more, he began to consider possibilities to get further out of the jam he had placed hhimself in. With the first of the darkball like heartless having been felled, he was given a bit of a reprieve to catch his breath. As he did so he started to think of what the heartless were like here. The last time he had fought the darkball heartless, in the first wave, they were only difficult to face due to his sheer unfamiliarity with them. However, this time they seemed to be far more ferocious in nature, and not only were they more aggressive but he had felt as though they were faster and stronger as well. They were able to continually exert great pressure, greater then what he had experienced not a few moments ago, and he wondered what was going on here. And though he had only managed to fight a few darkball heartless in the last encounter, these too seemed stronger as well. Trying to figure out what was going on here he looked around and did not see much. He was soon swiftly cut off as another darkball heartless came down to attack him. Dodging away from the attack first, he did not want to deal with another one of these things so quickly after the last, especially with the damage he had taken so far. He needed to get his wounds healed, though, he hardly expected the heartless to give him the breathing room to actually cure himself. He had to blink a few time to readjust his vision, while the now defeated darkball heartless took a large portion of the blow, he was still a bit dazed from the impact. The first of the darkball heartless moved fast towards him. Rather than lunging at them, as they would not to do, this darkball heartless floted in a odd way towards him. As it did, two more came out of nowhere. The last two, behind the first, merely seemed to flote there, looking as if they were waiting for something to happen. As the first of the darkball heartless had finally closed to the distance. He watched as more darkball heartless began to rise in front of him. Their bright eyes illuminated the atmosphere of darkness that was laid before them. He let out a sigh time for battle. Holding his weapon aloft, he looked onwards to the swarm of darkball heartless. Hoping to try and deter their efforts while saving some of his own stamina, he helt his wepond over his head. Pointing straight at the darkball heartless and attacked them. View attachment 48808 Moments ago he had thought that it was over, that they were done with this fight, having just fought off over a thousand heartless, but this was not the end. Their test as masters was just beginning once more. He knew that the Mark of Mastery exam was going to look like a cake walk, compared to what was coming for them in this battle as large shadowy creatures rose out of the ground and loomed around them, as smaller heartless filled the space between them, much like the heartless they just fought. This was true that the mark of mastery was easier by comparison. Aside from the Darksides that loomed over them, at least this battle would be similar enough to the previous one, fighting similar enemies meant that he could take what he learned from the first battle and put it to use here as well. The amount of those annoying flying drakball demons had increased however and he knew this time he would not be able to take as many out as fast. This time there seemed to be more Invisible heartless. The last wave had exhausted him slightly and this wave was bigger then the last and he knew that there was a possibility that the waves would continue to get bigger. Sighing the boy got ready to go into a fighting stance and deal with more darkball heartless. He attacked the darkball heartless. The creature might have stood up after his attack, if it had feet but it was a floating thing. He had ran through the horde, dodging as much as he could to save Aux during the first wave and now he was stuck here untill the end. Some of the horde began adapting to new tactics. As the first the darkball heartless dissolved she was back in the horde that surrounded him but soon even more came out ready to fight. Moving through the horde was not a option, the boy got in a guarded stance as yet anotherdarkball heartless came at him. As the darkball heartless had charged him, the boy stepped backward, immediately evading the first of the attacks from it. However, this way not enough as the darkball heartless began to spin around, rushing into him and striking into unguarded self. The wind being knocked out of him, as the darkball heartless knocked into him, the boy skidded backward. Putting up his hands again, the heartless moved towards him with its teeth showing. Wincing in pain, from the earlier attack he looked for an opening against the heartless he was fighting, though the creature was moving much faster than usual and was unrelenting in its pressure. Trying to evade the attacks, the boy kept moving side to side. Punching forward, the boy struck the darkball heartless and destroying the darkball heartless entirely. Catching his breath, he was a bit taken aback by the suddenness by which he was attacked by the creature. The boy felt a bit weird, having just fought so many but he knew this would not stop. Taking a deep breath, he began to focus on the opponent before him, before back stepping away from the heartless as it attacked him. The darkball heartless continued to put on the pressure. soon another dark ball had appeared behind him, mouth open. Stopping to not be bit by the creature, he stuck his hand out killing the one behind him. Now to take care of the one infrount of him as well. That was when the darkball heartless attacked again. Having avoided the attack by backing up to the palm tree and moving to the side. He looked back and it was time to go on the offensive. It was only for a moment, but the darkball heartless were all clustered up. Without wasting a moment, he seemed to be able to take out a few darkball heartless. A momentary pause and an unnatural stillness from those darkball heartless followed. He moved forward slightly and unleashed a flurry of blows before the one of the darkballs heartless could escape. A darkball heartless leaped at him, spinning its whole body to attack him. He however back-stepped out of the way, before lunging forward and cleaving the heartless in two with his blade. Following the larger one was a plethora of regular shadows. He charged them head on and mowed them down one by one. He threw out his almost dull knife of a weapon in a straight line, decimating a row of the small heartless. Another darkball leaped at him with almost just the right timing to hit him fortunately for him he was able to move just at the right time. The blonde stood himself up next to the palm tree to keep good balance. Thinking he was doing alright for now. Though one thing he had not necessarily anticipated was another attack by darkballs heartless so soon after the last one. He pick of another piece of bark again. A new storm was out there one more powerful then the last and more heartless were coming. The storm still was in the distance. The storm swished a piece of wood past him and the he had no focus in that direction as it slammed into her face, knocking him onto the ground. He turned to focus more on the debris since the wind was more in focus on that direction, while he was not in focus, a group of darkballs suddenly went in with an attack. The blonde went flying into the large palm tree that was still behind him. The darkball hearless had jumped in frount of him or more like flowed in his way. He was genuinely curious how he was going to manage to keep going with this at this pace. He watched the darkballs heartless fly in every direction. By this point he had to find a way to give himrself enough of a break that hhe could focus more before another big attack. The heartless He focused on were the darkball Heartless. He had been taking them out slowly, but since he decided to leave some neoshandows for some time he could spot a few in the distance. Once more, just like before, he slowed her breath and focused her energy. His eyes glared at the cluster of heartless that were near the him. The darkball heartless. He found himself surrounded by a group of darkball heartless anlong with other hearless. Twisting around, one after another the darkball heartless were met with the end of her blade. He was not noticing how heavily his breathing was until he stopped fighting. Yet another trial of the darkball heartless had been clear and as opposed to getting agitated that the keyblade wielder has yet to fall in combat. He knew that the heatless would not stop there attack and he would not stop fighting. The smaller swarm of heartless around him was getting closer now. He had a little break between the fighting but man this was going to be one long fight probably one of the longest ones yet. Another gust of wind blew his way. Then there was spinning of the darkball heartless coming for him once again. With ease, the blade cleaved off the darkball hearless in half. Another one came and he retaliated with yet another slash. His blade had managed to cleanly find its way across the darkball heartless. In merely two clean hits, he had managed to kill the darkball heartless. View attachment 48798 After bringing his blade up into a guard, he then blocked the next attack as another of the darkball heartless came his way. The large darkball in the distance had appeared to be amused by His attemets of attacking. He made a gesture and fortunately for the keyblade wielder, there weren't any other darkball heartless of that massive of a size. He did not want to deal with another expolding darkball heartless but it looked like that was not a potion. Instead this time he choose to play the numbers game and had the smaller darkball heartless come towords him. Eight darkball heartless were sent his way, all grouped up to make it so that he would not be able to take them down in one strike. He knew that he was runing low on energy he felt tired. He would have to rely on his own skills to deal with this threat, which was not too much of an issue as he had done this song and dance before. Not to mention he had a few more tricks up his sleeves. While he thought on this, the darkballs and shadows seemed to merge into the one being. This was not the case but they were so close together at this point they looked like one thing. The darkballs fortunately did not seem all that smart or maybe they were and this was all so he would lower his gard. The darkball heartless was not all that intimidating of a sight by, more strange. No matter the thoughts were pushed away and he went on the offensive and deal blow. It was successful in striking down some of the darkball. His original plan was to strike away at the darkball heartless untill it was gone. He had to deal with as mamny of the darkballs heartless as he could. As they floated his way they had fallen flat on the ground. Now he needed to think of something else while dodging the heartless's repetitive attacks on him. It may have been the same size as him, but its mass made its attacks slow and easy to dodge. Everything around him seemed to be keeping up nearly as well as he was. He was fighting hard he could tell. There still there was hardly an end in sight. They would need to put a lot of work in in order to get any further with this fight. That being said the big threat still loomed over him in the form of the darkball heatless that was clumbted together. He would need to deal with this before he was allowed time to relax a bit. Then he might be able to deal with the small enemies. As much as hhe would like to join the fight reducing down the numbers, left unchecked this could be a problem. As long as he could not get those countless heartless under control he should not rest. be too much of a problem. Though having their numbers cut down by some now seemed to have made it somewhat easier. He could see them start to dart around him trying everything they could do to get to him. Jumping back a little to the palm tree. The darkball heartless did not seem to be giving him any chances. He had to get a chance to hit the darkball heartless. The next thing he knew the darkball heartless came towards him. As the mass of the group of dark heartless came at him he took a few swings clearly hurting. With a few more swings of his blade the drakball heartless was gone. View attachment 48797 He still felt no different in being a keyblade master. Strike after strike that the darkballs did he dodged the darkballs as the came close. He was not sure how much damage they could do to him but he was not about to find out by getting hit. The largest drakball looked ready to try and kill him. Through all this he managed to close the distance between himself and the large darkball. He did not worry too much about the Iarge darkball as soon he was sure it would be gone. He knew that the moment that he stopped moving left to right and back agin there would be an attack again. He did not want the battle to come to him as it was easier for him to take out things slowly to the side. So he just made sure that he keept on was still hopping around so that if they did attack he would be ready. He was sure the heartless would miss if they attacked. These heartless seemed to be not only intelligent in the way the approached combat, but it also looked like they were pack hunters. He was glad they were only in the realm of darkness for a short amount of time, and during that time they were mostly participating in the reaper's game. If they would have been there for very long before dreamer had collected them all and taken them through the castle of illusions, the heartless almost certainly would have picked them off one by one. For now he had to face this horde alone. That was when the darkball hearrtless attacked again. Having avoided the attack by backing up to the palm tree and moving to the side. From the corner of his eye, he could see many of the smaller shadow heartless sinking into the ground and heading right for him. He moved back and began to stand far from the heartless as he could. He whacked his way through the wave as they mad there way towards him. The heartless were trying to reach him still desite his fighting style. He noticed that fighting the once adament heartless seemed relatively easy to him now. He kept moving until the large darkball blocked his path. He froze in place, backing up a bit at the size of the above average darkball heartless. He backed up and use his back ended up next to the same palm tree. While he was not the fastest, he thought that he could manage to race around behind the heartless before hitting the heartless with his knife. The power of the knife did a number on the darkball heartless, doing massive damage and causing the heartless to decrease in speed. Seizing his opportunity, he unleashed a quick torrent of slashes before the darkball heartless finally dispersed. He continued to look around for any of the massive darkball heartless, he had never seen before before backing up slowly. His back eventually hit something, as he was stunned before turning around. and saw that it was still the palm tree. View attachment 48795 Seeing that he was out voted in going to the farm it looked like he did not have much of a choice in going back to the inn. He thought about going off on his own to the farm, but seeing how dark it soon would be and having no clue on to get get to the farm he followed the others back to the inn. Kyo soon led the group out of the Town Hall and passed the iron gates, which were locked tightly behind them. Kyo led them back to the Inn, and as promised, there was a mother cat with a kitten to play with for Thea. As soon as they reached the inn and he found a spot to fill Zephyr in in what he learned. He filled Zephyr in by saying, 'that everything had happened at least six times since over the last three months or so. There is always fog that rolls into town. That this kind of fog has a mind of its own. It seems to move on its own, and it makes it hard for anyone to see in. It also seemed like the flute player could only pick one person to take and the sleeping seemed random. He also expressed his concern to Zephyr that it might be a inside job because it seemed to easy for everything.' After Zephyr had told him what he had learned he thought that perhaps that there was some kind of sleeping pill so that the children slept through the flute playing. Dinner was made and served up to the mages, which was a hearty beef stew with potatoes, carrots, basil, and bay leaves. He did not really touch the food and his mind was on what they had learned at the town hall. Soon they went up to there room which Thea was put to bed. He didn't sleep, in fact he didn't have any plans on doing so. He stood up and watch out a window. Thea soon jumped out of bed and walked out to the street to see what was going on. He let out a sigh thinking that it might be best for her to stay put but then another thought came to his head that said it was possible that when they came back she might be gone. Thea had said, 'We have to check on my new friends! Make sure they are alright!' He did not have much of a choice. Not long after Zephyr said, 'You go with Thea, there's something I need to check.' He followed close behind Thea. He thought about going after Zephyr but the idea of leaving Thea by herself was not a option. He gripped something small and silver in color in his hand ready to use if he had to.
View attachment 48794 He was still fighting off by himself. He had to keep going. Wave after wave he stood there fighting with the palm tree still to his back. It looked like the waves of darkball heartless would never stop coming. The waves of heartless slowly at first got smaller then it got progressively faster until there was a few left. He just keep on fighting taking on the few darkball heartless that was left. Soon all seemed to clear out and soon he could finally go join the others. He could take a break. He was about to head out and join the other when he looked over to the commanding officer and he was still was fighting who ever had decided to help them. He was still unsure if this person was on there side or not but he was not going to complain about the help right now. Uniform was parrying with the unknown person with powerful assaults with his metalic arm, the unknown person grinning at keeping him occupied. He could now spot Hikaru now and could hear him shout, 'Hah! Is that all you got?!' Why just why did he have to say anything? The second Hikaru finished his question, the heartless that appeared on the field were virtually double the number that appeared last time. In front of them was a horde of two thousand shadows accompanied by 450 darkballs, 450 Neoshadows, 30 Invisibles, and two whole darksides. Some appearing right infrount of him blocking his path once again from joining the others. Of couse it could not be easy, when was it ever easy? In fact the only time it had been easy had been when it practically solod two parts of the mark pf mastery. Why oh why did Hikaru have to say anything? It did not matter the battle was on once again. He let out a sigh and took more of a grip on his weapon. He could still see some of the others and he spotted from across the field, Aux's neck quickly turned to Hikaru as he yelled loudly and in annoyed and frightened tone. Then Aux said, 'You thought something good happened. When has anything ever went well for this group?!' "Maybe if we live long enough to we might be lucky enough to see something good happen." He was not holding out hope tho. Soon the heartless came in closer and completly blocked him off from the others and he could no longer see any of them. With a new wave of heartless being summoned to the field, he was getting more and more tired he would just have to press on. The heartless did not seem to keen on waiting for him and looked like they were ready to fight ant a moments notice. Sence there was more this time then last he wondered how he was going to live though this wave. He was still surprised that he had lived through the first. Even if it did not take too long to attack he was sure it would be harder then the fist wave. In fact the heartless did not seemed to be too fond of them in general. The effects of this battle were starting to be noticed, by him he was felling tired. Noticing that the battle was about to start again he readied himself for the next attack. It did take some effort. The heartless themselves had to have noticed this change as well for they were starting to get more aggressive with their attacks. Again this fell mainly with the darkball heartless. The one plame tree behind him was going to have be be his cover once again for the time being. Instantly turning to face him due to its near unrivaled speed in this fight, it attacked him with a barrage of spinns. He maneuvered his blade in a counteractive slash for each one, spinning it as he did so. The darkball backed away for a moment as the keyblade master just stood there. An impressive feat, given how unwieldly the weapon was, but right now it would have to do. Wasting no more time showing off to the heartless that would soon be dead, He lunged forward, sliding across the ground. Normally this was a weaker, more mobile tool of combat they possessed, but he had turned it just as deadly as most of their other arsenal. He slashed upward the moment he reached the darkball heartless, cleaving it in two. A few darkballs heartless rushed him, gnashing their teeth as they rapidly flew through the air. He was not quite able to counter all of them as, despite his skill with his blade, it could only be in on place at a time. However, being hit did not mean he was not going to make them pay for it ten times over. He leaped into the air at the flying heartless, slashing straight through the first one. It exploded into an inky black smoke, just like all the others had, and just like the ones before him were about to. A second leap, and his blade broke the skin of the second darkball heartless, destroying it instantly in a very similar fashion. He jumped head-first into a pile of darkball heartyless that were floating around, looking to attack him. He really was not looking forward to dealing with those guys, seeing how it had been mostly what he had been fighting so far but it would have to do. The Darkball heartless that were floating around, turning into puffs of smoke and acting all crazy. He did not even want to think about those big flying heartless. He figured that was the only annoyance he had to deal with when a larger version of the darkballs and neo shandow heartless. He just took down some darkball heartless and more were flying at him from out of nowhere. He brought up his weapon to defend against the darkball heartless and staped the heartless. He spinnined the darkball heart less around. It Then landed on the ground and readied itself for another fight. Apparently This thing was not about to give up. He had to deal with this darkball heartless fast. He jumped back as quickly as he could when it came spinning towards him. He continued his advance through the heartless, stopped by yet another darkball heartless. Looking at it he had to fight this darkball. Barely being able to keep up with this creature, he just barely managed to put his wepond up to defend against the attack. The blade managed to cut at bit of the darkball heartless. Then it went for him. Wincing in pain from the attack, the boy attempted to back off from the creature. His back was once again next to the palm tree. He attacked the darkball as fast as he could. View attachment 48770 After the mass of the group of dark heartless came at him he took a few swings clearly hurting. With a few more swings of his blade the drakball heartless was gone. He looked around at the broken and dark world. It was...hardly what he would have thought was going to be going on. A darkball heartless leaped at him, spinning its whole body to attack him. He however back-stepped out of the way, before lunging forward and cleaving the heartless in two with his blade. Following the larger one was a plethora of regular shadows. He charged them head on and mowed them down one by one. He threw out his almost dull knife of a weapon in a straight line, decimating a row of the small heartless. Another darkball leaped at him with almost just the right timing to hit him fortunately for him he was able to move just at the right time. The blonde stood himself up next to the palm tree to keep good balance. Thinking he was doing alright for now. Though one thing he had not necessarily anticipated was another attack by darkballs heartlessso soon after the last one. He pick of another piece of bark again which was now running low now. The storm still was in the distance. The storm swished a piece of wood past him and the he had no focus in that direction as it slammed into her face, knocking him onto the ground. He turned to focus more on the debris since the wind was more in focus on that direction, while he was not in focus, a group of darkballs suddenly went in with an attack. The blonde went flying into the large palm tree that was still behind him. The darkball hearless had jumped in frount of him or more like flowed in his way. He was genuinely curious how he was going to manage to keep going with this at this pace. He watched the darkballs heartless fly in every direction. By this point he had to find a way to give himrself enough of a break that hhe could focus more before another big attack. The heartless He focused on were the darkball Heartless. Hhe had been taking them out slowly, but since he decided to leave some neoshandows for some time he could spot a few in the distance. Once more, just like before, he slowed her breath and focused her energy. His eyes glared at the cluster of heartless that were near the him. The darkball heartless. He found himself surrounded by a group of darkball heartless anlong with other hearless. Twisting around, one after another the darkball heartless were met with the end of her blade. He was not noticing how heavily his breathing was until he stopped fighting. Yet another trial of the darkball heartless had been clear and as opposed to getting agitated that the keyblade wielder has yet to fall in combat. He knew that the heatless would not stop there attack and he would not stop fighting. The smaller swarm of heartless around him was getting closer now. He had a little break betwenn the fighting but man this was going to be one long fight probably one of the longest ones yet. Another gust of wind blew his way. Then there was spinning of the darkball heartless coming for him once again. With ease, the blade cleaved off the darkball hearless in half. Another one came and he retaliated with yet another slash. His blade had managed to cleanly find its way across the darkball heartless. In merely two clean hits, he had managed to kill the darkball heartless. The large darkball in the distance had appeared to be amused by His attemets of attacking. He made a gesture and fortunately for the keyblade wielder, there weren't any other darkball heartless of that massive of a size. He did not want to deal with another expolding darkball heartless but it looked like that was not a potion. Instead this time he choose to play the numbers game and had the smaller darkball heartless come towords him. Eight darkball heartless were sent his way, all grouped up to make it so that he would not be able to take them down in one strike. He knew that he was runing low on energy he felt tired. He would have to rely on his own skills to deal with this threat, which was not too much of an issue as he had done this song and dance before. Not to mention he had a few more tricks up his sleeves. While he thought on this, the darkballs and shadows seemed to merge into the one being. This was not the case but they were so close together at this point they looked like one thing. The darkballs fortunately did not seem all that smart or maybe they were and this was all so he would lower his gard. The darkball heartless was not all that intimidating of a sight by, more strange. No matter the thoughts were pushed away and he went on the offensive and deal blow. It was successful in striking down some of the darkball. His original plan was to strike away at the darkball heartless untill it was gone. He had to deal with as mamny of the darkballs heartless as he could. As they floated his way they had fallen flat on the ground. Now he needed to think of something else while dodging the heartless's repetitive attacks on him. It may have been the same size as him, but its mass made its attacks slow and easy to dodge. Everything around him seemed to be keeping up nearly as well as he was. He was fighting hard he could tell. There still there was hardly an end in sight. They would need to put a lot of work in in order to get any further with this fight. That being said the big threat still loomed over him in the form of the darkball heatless that was clumbted together. He would need to deal with this before he was allowed time to relax a bit. Then he might be able to deal with the small enemies. As much as hhe would like to join the fight reducing down the numbers, left unchecked this could be a problem. As long as he could not get those countless heartless under control he should not rest. be too much of a problem. Though having their numbers cut down by some now seemed to have made it somewhat easier. Hhe could see them start to dart around him trying everything they could do to get to him. Jumping back a little to the palm tree. The darkball heartless did not seem to be giving him any chances. He had to get a chance to hit the darkball heartless. The next thing he knew the darkball heartless came towards him. As the mass of the group of dark heartless came at him he took a few swings clearly hurting. His combo hitting was successful as the one of the darkball heartless faded into darkness. From the corner of his eye, he could see many of the smaller shadow heartless sinking into the ground and heading right for him. He moved back and began to stand far from the heartless as he could. He whacked his way through the wave as they mad there way towards him. The heartless were trying to reach him still desite his fighting style. He noticed that fighting the once adament heartless seemed relatively easy to him now. Was it something to do with becoming a master? Regardless, he felt he had grown as both a keyblade wielder and as a person. He kept moving until the large darkball blocked his path. He froze in place, backing up a bit at the size of the above average darkball heartless. He backed up and use his back ended up next to the same palm tree. While he wasn't the fastest, he thin he could manage to race around behind the heartless before hitting the heartless with his knife. The power of the knife did a number on the darkball heartless, doing massive damage and causing the heartless to decrease in speed. Seizing his opportunity, he unleashed a quick torrent of slashes before the darkball heartless finally dispersed. He continued to look around for any of the massive darkball heartless he had never seen before before backing up slowly. His back eventually hit something, as he was stunned before turning around. and saw that it was still the palm tree. With his slashing of heartless having managed to destroy a large swath of them. It would do him no good to try and destroy every last heartless that was here and instead it was better to slowly destroy the ones in front of him to systematically lower their numbers. Perhaps at some point he might see the others and they would then try to destroy some. Through his combined efforts he would be able to get through this swarm of heartless with no problem. Of course, in front of him to start with was two of those darkball heartless shadow creatures that he had run into before. While he was fast enough to not get hit he was not taking any chances. At this point some more darkballs formed a swarm behind him. Regular shadows were far slower in comparison to their more matured versions. As such, he could not just run past the darkballs and expect to continue fighting them. More to the point, he could not actually just kill them in an instant either, as they had proven to be more difficult to actually land a blow on then their smaller counterparts. Add to the fact that while in this state of his he could not actually. Regardless, he began to ran at them, and the darkball was ready for him. The first of the darkballs seemed to flop down to the ground trying to stop what he was doing. The darkball then began spinning at him. He was unsure of what was looking at, but the darkball heartless seemed to be more like a wheel of raw slashing power that he wanted to not deal with at all. so, as the spinning darkball heartless moved towards him, he jumped over the heartless. he brought his blade into it by shoving the blade backwords killing the darkball. Bringing his blade up into a guard, he then blocked the next attack as another of the darkballs came his way. View attachment 48767 It had appeared that he somehow had managed to get the darkballs to slow down. They were slowed down for now but he knew that they would attack soon. It seemed that the stopped darkballs were not going to stay stopped. Taking another deep breath, and ready for the onslot that was sure to come from the darkballs and shadows. With his wepond at the ready the boy charged forward with swift speed rushing towards the darkball heartless. before they could do anything. With a single cut nothing seemed to happen at first, only for the keyblade master to then immediately strike with yet another swing of his weapon the darkball exploded. Another darkball show up this one looking regular size and he took this one one fast too. The heartless were destroyed in an instant, unable to take the raw force of the attack, and dissipated back into the strands of shadow they were made of. He was staring to get the grove of this battling thing but he knew that he was getting tired. With that some of the heartless were now gone. He knew that he would be be able to cut through the heartless even more easily than he had been before, and started to run headfirst into the on coming mob. There was still a gap between him and the next larger darkball heartless, meaning that he would have to try and make his way further through the battle at hand. There was more fighting to be had before he could ever make it over to the largest darkball yet. Frustrated about not being able to get to that large darkball heartless. He brought his attention to the closest darkball to him. He readied himself and the darkball flew at him stapping his knife into the darkball. He began to spin it over his head before throwing it straight at another darkball that was popping somewhere between him and the largeest darkball yet. He watched as the darkball heartless flew through the air before hinting the ground and disapearing. Perhaps hhe should have thought things through before throwing a heartless into the air. Spinning himself aroundshe searched around for anyone that was familiar. He still was not quite able to see anyone. He was a keyblade master but yet he felt no different. he was ready for more darkballs. Strike after strike that the darkballs did he dodged the darkballs as the came close. He was not sure how much damage they could do to him but he was not about to find out by getting hit. The largest drakball looked ready to try and kill him. Through all this he managed to close the distance between himself and the large darkball. He did not worry too much about the Iarge darkball as soon he was sure it would be gone. He knew that the moment that he stopped moving left to right and back agin there would be an attack again. He did not want the battle to come to him as it was easier for him to take out things slowly to the side. So he just made sure that he keept on was still hopping around so that if they did attack he would be ready. He was sure the heartless would miss if they attacked. He was still mad that Aux had left him to die. After that he took the makeshift knife nd drove it forward into where the heart would be if this darkball was a person It was hard to tell being that it was a floting orb but he did his best. The Heartless tried to fight back but it was hopless for it. View attachment 48766 After the last wave of heartless had been dealt with he thought that the heartless were somehow thinning. He had a feeling that this would not last that long. He knew that soon enough somehow more heartless would come out of no where. No sooner had he thought this then over the heads of some of like five shadows, who at this point seemed weak, rose several dark balls. With a spin, kick and slash of his weapon he took the five shadows out and then the darkballs made there way towards him. With blade in hand, the boy began to make his move towards the side as a large collection of darkballs made there way towards him. Some of the darkball heartless seemed to be far fatter around then the ones he fought before. They were defently different then the regular darkball heartless. Staring at the strange creature, it looked back at him as well, a feral look in its beady eyes as it readied its self for attack. Throwing his almost dull makeshift knife at one of the darkballs. The darkball exploded lunching some unknown purple liquid out from its self. Thankfully it did not get on him. Now some of the heartless around him had a purple glow to them. He was given a short break upon the exploding darkball. After the faling of so many heartless why they still came after him was beyond him. He was felling the massive heartless battle was just begining. To make matters worse, another darkball had floated its way over to where hr was. Surprisingly none of the heartless had made an another move to attack him again yet. This was despite clearly having the numbers advantage against him. Yes he did just prove time and time agin that he was not going down without a fight. It was likely that their strongest force out of all of them was there number not the strength of one heartless but one of manny. Him fight or they being gone for good would only last so long. Who made it longer it was hard to say at this point. This one heartless was clearly sporting a cocky look on its face as it looked down upon him. Not to mentioned that it was had floated down and stared him down from its higher position. This heartless was challenging him wasn't it. It had a expressions on its face that said all of this. He would have been all to happy to take this darkball out. To take it in this challenge seeing as it clearly wanted it, but the moment he took a single step forward a good five more dark balls joined in. He let out a sigh. This battle seemed like it was never going to end. It was the battle that went on and on. The never ending battle fighting the heartless. It may have been brief, but still long enough for him to pick up another pice of bark and use that as his new wepond seeing at the last makeshift knife was long gone. He was able to deliver a devastating lunch to one more of the dark balls heartless and sending it flying back into the crowd in a fiery explosion. He was not sure why some of these darkball were exploding but he was going to try and not question it. Gripping his wepond tighter, the boy was ready to make another run at the darkball swarm that was ready to attack him. It had appeared that he somehow had managed to get the darkballs to slow down. They were slowed down for now but he knew that they would attack soon. With the there were still a few shadows left ready to attack him and then beyond them even more ready to join the fight. He looked over to see if Aux was ok and the first thing he noticed was he was not there. What the heck Aux he saved his butt and then he went off and left him to die alone. Turned and looked every direction to see where Aux had gone and he spotted a oppening that had opened up and it looked like Aux had just gone through it. He Saw that Aux had charged onto the battlefield without so much as summoning his keyblade. he watched as Aux jumped close to a darkball and held it's chain's slowly pulling it down. He swayed his legs back and forth as he was preparing to gain more momentum. The darkball was not fond of this and began to thrash back and forth to try and shake the man off. He saw that he was near Aislinn through the opening that was up. He turned to follow Aux but before he could the opening that had opened up was now closed. How Aux had not died in the process of leaving him behind was beyond him. He was not to happy with what Aux had done but there was nothing he could do now as Aux by now was long gone. He knew that with Aux gone he did not have to worry about hollowing out the palm tree. Continuing his defensive stance now that his only way out was gone. He decided that going after some of the bigger heartless might be best. That said he did not think that he had much of a choice in the manner. Picking on the bigger heartless first before bothering with the smaller heartless seemed like the best idea but no matter what ended up happening he was sure to get overwhelmed at some point. He was quite thankful that he somehow had not got himself killed yet. He wished he could be of a little more help to others but with no way of getting to them and no way on them to get him he was and they were out of luck. He knew that he needed to pace herself or he might die faster. slow death or a fast one? He did not think that it was much of a choice. If he was going to deal with the large heartless he could not waste time on the smaller heartless as well. If he tried to do too much at once, he would exhaust himself far too fast and would not be a good thing. There was also the fact he might die. Still only taking out a few heartless at a time was the best option for now. That being said the little guys in the quantity that they were swarming in could still cause issues if they wanted to. They already were for what he could tell as they were the only ones that kept on coming. When ever he made a move to go after a neoshadow in the distance a shadow to walk in and he would have to take care of the shadow first. It looked like the heartless were not giving him a option on who to fight and there seemed to be deciding for him that it would be the shadows. Having no intention of slowing down against these heartless, he stood his ground agest the heartless that mad his way toward him. They moved forward towards him. With the blade still in hand, the boy began to attack as they came towards him. After cutting through the last swath of heartless, he looked around the horde of shadows that seemed to be towards him more now. Stepping forward, slightly the heartless instinctively continued to come towards him. Only to eventually halt a few feet away. They were geting smarter. He knew that shortly the heartless would over take Aux and him. As they continued walking towards him, the halted horde of shadows began to charge at him all at once. This was not good. He had to guess that another neoshadow was leading them. Only this time he could not see the neoshadow. Of course they would all attack and once hoping to get a upper hand there were maybe 10 so so that had jumped towards him all at once. He tighten his grip on his makeshift knife he was never one for short range combat or hand to hand but he had to learn quick if he wanted to live. The mere flourish of his weapon didn't seem to do much of anything. It was not like he was using a keyblade. The heartless pounced towards him. He seemed to be suddenly swallowed in a dome of shadow and claw. The yellow eyes of the shadows were no longer visible with how tightly packed. They were now trying to scratch, maim and devour him. They wanted his heart. He once again backed up to the palm tree and this time the shadows were closer then before. He managed to take out a few with his makeshift knife which gave him enough room to breathe and fight his own way. Because of the larger wave of shadows he could no longer see Aux. He just had to hope that Aux was ok. He had to get rid of these shadows fast. With already a few down it might be easier. He slightly wondered how he was still alive. There was no time to think about that now tho. He had to act. The other heartless then recoiled from his last attack. If they could feel he would say that they were almost repulsed by the shear force he just showed and now they did not seems at ready to come at him. The risks involved in being completely surrounded by shadows was even greater now. While others may think that this was fun he did not. He knew for a while now that he was going to just have to fight on his own. He was somewhat glad that it was this way. If he went down no one would be able to see it. It was probably suicidal to fight alone but it was not like he had a choice. He still thought that it was netter this way. The shadows were getting smarter and smarter. If this continued they might be able to take him out. He kept himself in a defensive stance as he readied himself for the next attack. The next group began to jump and try to hit hit him again. He was able to move to one side again just in time as he saw a shadow hit the palm tree. The shadows as a result piled up on each other. At this point he was able to take out a few more that ended up on the palm tree with some kicks and the use of his knife. There were still a few shadows left ready to attack him and then beyond them even more ready to join the fight. View attachment 48764 The Neoshadow that had rose out of nowhere up in front of him was still there not moving. It looked like it was waiting for something. It most likely was waiting for him to let his gaurd down or turn is back. The purple color of this one was glowing. It was something that he had never seen before. It seemed like the heartless were thinning. He could now see some of the distance again but he was sure that it was not going to last long. He just had to find a way to get out of there. That was when the neowshadow rose his hand and shadows started coming his way. Wasting as little time as possible on the smaller shadow heartless, Andrew was quickly closing the gap between himself and the Neoshadow. He was still using the bark of the tree as a weapon. Trying to dodge out of the way and keep walking slowly towards neoshadow. The purple neoshadow would not allow such things as to die so easily from him. The neoshadow so happened to move and it launched itself at him swiping with both its claw like hands towards him. Dodging out of the way as fast as he could, Andrew rolled to the ground to avoid the attack the neoshadow was now close to the tree that was behind him and Aux. This was just going perfect. This neoshadow seemed to be a leader of some sort. Looking up he could see a higher elevation in the distance. Only if he could get Aux and himself there he might be able to stand a chance. He did not want to be in center of it all which at the moment he seemed to be. It was something to drive him a little more to fight he had to keep moving and the neoshadow seemed more intereted in him then Aux. As he moved around he gave the neoshandow a good kick and used the bark knife and slashing at the Neoshadow in a cross shaped motion. The Neoshadow fell and was now gone but there was till more heartless there. We at least he was keeping Aux save. He did not know that Aux was long gone by now. Slowly he hoped that more and more people would be joining the crazy thing known as this battle. He silently wished them luck knowing full well he might not see any of them again. He was forced to turn his attention back to the heartless that were still there and still coming towards him. He knew full well that they would not stay off of him for long. He needed to be ready for the next wave of attacks. Here we go again He thought. There was no way around them still well a way around that he could take Aux with him. There was a the mass horde of smaller heartless starting to make there way towards him. He took a firm step forward and dashed off towards the horde of Shadows he would not let anything happen He was just about done using this back that was a knife. He faced the smaller heartless ready for there next move. Some of the smaller ones that made the occasional swipe at him he would kick back or use his knife. Only the unlucky ones that decided to actually come onto his path were struck down. Three shadows had all jumped at once and met a swift end by him moving fast and striking them as they came for him. View attachment 48763 After using the bark chipper he used it as a weapon and brought to toward the darkball with a scream. He looked on to the heartless. He knew now that there was no way anyone was going to come and help him there just were to many for him to get away with Aux. There were also to many for anyone to get to him. It looked like he was just going to be stuck here until he died or the battle was over. He hatted thing about what would have happened if he took the portal to the island. They probably would have walked state into a trap. He was sure that had he gone through the portal it most likely would have much, much worse. It looked over to Aux from his palm tree which at this point a a hole big enough to fit his pinky in. By the time the hole was big enough for Aux to fit in he would probably would be dead. "Well It looks like a am the only recuse party you will be getting. Sorry to disappoint." He was sure that if anyone tried to get to Aux and him they would be kill just by the large numbers. He knew that it was not worth it. He tried to save Aux and it looked like he was going to fail to. Well no time like the present. "I will go down fighting. Before you say anything Aux I am not leaving. Even if I wanted to I would be dead before I made it five feet." He stood in a defensive position. He was going to give it his all here he had to. He knew that if something happened to Aux, Hikaru would never forgive him. At this moment he remembered his promise that he told Aux right before they got teleported. A promise to himself that he would not let what happened on his homeworld happen to someone else or to another world. So far he had not been that successful at this but he was not about to give up. He knew that this battle was going to prove a challenge of wills and stamina. This battle was not like anything that they had done before and he hoped that he would live a long life. He also hoped that there was not going to be another battle of this scale again. This was just a pipe dream tho. He knew it was just going to get harder before it got any easier. He knew the easy thing to do at this point was to give up. He was not about to do that knowing full well Aux would not lest that long if he died. How much time was left he had no idea nor did he know if he was going to last that long. Doing his best to stay in a defensive position with heartless still all around him that were in the area. it would be a miracle if he somehow lived through all off this. He set his eyes and sights on the countless shadows in front of him. At this point he was just going to have to use the palm park as a makeshift knife. As the shadows moved towards him he would give them a good wack. That was when a Neoshadow rose out of nowhere up in front of him. This one was purple in color and he could tell was different then the ones he had fought so far. it was smart and was staying back at bit. This was just perfect. Bark started chipping off. At one point he started feeling pain in his foot but after some time it was almost like he could not feel any more. It was going to take forever to hollow out this palm tree enough to hide Aux in it. A Neoshadow came up behind him and he did not see it. Moving to the side just at the right moment the Neoshadow went fast first into the tree taking some bark with it. The Neoshadow then turned and faced him. He still did not have his keyblade summoned so he could not use that for the moment. The Neoshadow then lunged at him and he gave it a good kick sending it back into the palm tree. Then then continued giving it a few more kicks until the thing disappeared. He then looked at Aux "are you doing ok? Do you have any ideas?" He looked back forward and heartless were still coming. Looking down and spotted a large piece of bark. Well bark was better then not using any weapon at all. He still did not want to risk summoning his keyblade as he might hurt Aux with the heartless being so close. He then bent over and picked up the bark. Looking at the heartless that were coming he threw the sharp piece of bark toward the heartless like a throwing knife except sideways. He guessed it was more like a frisbee then a knife throw. With some of the heartless dealt with he looked back at the tree. Why did it have to be a healthy one. A dead palm tree would have been a easier tree to hollow out. That said when has anything been easy other then some parts of the mark of mastery. One tree was better then no tree he thought. It was hard to say if there was still 10'000 heartless or not as there were still so many. He knew that by this point he got ride of 20 or so maybe. It was like a penny in the way to a million. He was not sure how much longer he could keep this fighting up. It seemed that he would just have to live long enough to fight on his own. He would fight until he was dead or this was over. He was hoping it would be the second option but it was not like it was his choice. It had to be a large battle still as to not have run across anyone else. Knowing Aux he would have said something to the effect of they left him to die or something. He gave a look to Aux who probably would have said that whole thing if he was not in so much pain. He still did not know if he could help him or not. He had no idea on how to stop the pain other then knocking him out which was not a option. He tunred back to the tree and pick up a piece of bark and started using it as a chipper to hollow it out. That was when a Darkball came up over the tree and there were still heartless behind him blocking his view of Hikaru or Kaida. He looked up and saw the darkball. Welp this was not good. using the bark chipper he used it as a wepond and brought to toward the darkball with a scream.
