Okay, let me rephrase: He's attempting to be serious in a usually non-serious place. Okay, that's fair enough. Everyone is entitled to do so at one point. However, instead of getting a bit upset when it's known that people don't usually take things seriously here, shouldn't he say that he's being serious instead of sounding upset? Some of these jokers thrive on getting that reaction, so in reality, his reaction is inadvertently causing it to happen moreso.
I think what Nights means is that Smash should be aware that people are going to joke about it because the spam zone isn't a serious place.
