New schools are always hard. This thing is, you do have to be yourself, or else people will be making friends with you for someone else, not you. Be weary of people who befriend you, but don't be totally reluctant. I know there are some people who take advantage new students.

Mind racing, Mona sprang to her feet. She grabbed the collar of Alan's jacket with one hand, while putting the water back in its container with the other. She pulled him to his feet and pinned him to the wall of a nearby alleyway.
The man was almost right behind Mona. Her heart started racing. He's a tracker! her thoughts screamed at her. But how do I do anything now without him going after me? She unscrewed the cap off her water bottle attached to her belt. Concentrating, she pulled out about half of the water so that it was floating in the shape of a ball about half an inch above the palm of her hand. Slowly, she turned her head to look sideways at Alan. Mona made the water form into a rope-like shape. It lassoed around Alan's ankles, and in half a second it swept his legs out from underneath him.
I Love It. It made my Youtube life, I'm not f*cking kidding. They had uploaded it earlier and taken them down again about a week before the parts you see there, because they had to rename it for legal reasons. And for some reason they edited out some parts. For example: Spoiler the Hermione/Ron kiss was longer and even funnier, and they took out some epic lines from the part when Snape's... you-know-what gets bitten by the snake. XD FIND! >8D
Mona looked up as she heard footsteps approaching, too close for comfort. A nervous looking man in a leather jacket was walking along the edge of the sidewalk several yards away. She put up the hood of her sweater of her head and looked straight ahead of her. Please, don't be the Vereor, she thought desperately. I'm tired of running and hiding, I'm not going to do it anymore.
