I don't know, man. Coming from ASM2, these look like they were from the early 2000's to me, which before seeing the new one I wouldn't have said. There are a lot of scenes in 1 that have a distinct early 2000's look in the camera angles and stuff. Like when you see something from the 90s and go "that's so 90's." I'm not saying that they look bad or that they don't hold up, it's just apparent that they're "older" movies now. And Batman Begins which came out a year after 2 doesn't look nearly as old as 2 does now. However I think the age adds a bit of charm to the movies, given that they're adapting early Spider-Man (ignoring 3, of course. always.) it seems somewhat appropriate to have them look a bit older.
This is the mindset the majority of movie-goers are going to have. Guardians have never been A-list and have never had a cartoon, so unless you're into comics you won't know who they are. I'm curious to see how the public will react because the characters and setting are very far from what people have come to expect from MCU (which to a lot of people is Marvel), and this will undoubtedly be the introduction to these characters for a large number of people.
if i have something going on the next morning i generally try to be in bed by 2 if not it could be literally whenever
I was just discussing this with someone the other day. It really bugs me to see people show flagrant disregard for their technology. Maybe it's because I take care of mine to the point of paranoia (because I seem to break things easily), but seeing someone treat their technology without appreciation for its value is somewhat disconcerting, like my sister who leaves her 3ds on the floor. not to imply that you're like this mixt lol
for like the 10th time in a row or something funny how you can 'discover' something you've known existed for years
i can never pry myself away from whatever game/comic im reading/playing at the time. "why sleep when i could be doing other stuff" is my logic at night.
Aside from the lack of being able to dodge, Terra. Aqua was fun as well, really liked how her style of play differed so far from anything we've gotten before or since.
After playing FM, there really is no option other than Rhythm for me. It's so much fun and I don't dread going into it like I do with most others. Aside from that, I like Wingblade and Spell Weaver fine. Though overall command styles are not something I'm a fan of as they are in BBS.
absorbing archaic like a sponge
watched spider man 2 and 1 recently they are really starting to show their age which i guess makes sense considering they're a decade and older now. which is so strange to me op pop figures, specifically luffy, have been moved very close to the top of the list of things i want but cant afford that scene where luffy came out of megalo.. so awesome.
so you're saying the white-haired girl's voice isn't one of the most unbearably annoying voices you've ever heard? for the record, the white-haired girl embodies so many of the things that i dislike about anime, her voice being one of them.
i dont like sleeping i usually only get around 4 or 5 hrs a night.
im sure. anyone who converses with jiku must adopt such a rapport or get butthurt hayabusa was the one who said "posts like these" or something to that effect, everything i've said has been in response.
i don't disagree but when discussions degenerate to throwing insults back and forth it's not a discussion worth having anymore. i would like to think people here are capable of having discussions without doing so and given that the spam zone is one section on an entire forum, this is clearly the case. if not posting a discussion-worthy thread in the spam zone means that topic can be explored and ideas can be exchanged without derailing into personal insults like "youre taste is ****", there's no reason it should be posted in the zone. and if a person has so much repressed aggression that they are unable to converse without insulting other people, that's an issue that should be dealt with outside of a place where people should be free to discuss things without feeling attacked. and make no mistake, i like the spam zone for what it is. im just responding to your statement
a bit more... polite? idk. people undeniably conduct themselves better in discussion sections which is why the "i dont post threads in discussion sections because of this behavior" makes no sense when that behavior is almost exclusive to the spam zone
to be fair i said that before those posts people are usually a bit more civil outside of the spam zone
I can't think of a single one that I would have a reason other than "it's what I grew up with" or "it's what I'm used to" to support it. I think a lot of the problems I have with English dubs stem from the directing given to the voice actors, and not the capabilities of the actors themselves. The voices are often trying to replicate certain vocal tropes found in anime, and these simply don't translate well or sound good English. I also don't like this hang-up with trying to pronounce certain words, usually names, in Japanese while saying everything else in colloquial English. It sounds ridiculous. Example: Naruto (because I'm sure most of us are, for better or worse, familiar with it), specifically the early episodes. I have no idea what it sounds like now. Sasuke says Naruto's name with a Japanese pronunciation, rolling the "r" or whatever, while Sakura says it with an English pronunciation, with a hard "r". I much prefer the latter because while I'm listening to something entirely in English, it sounds very unnatural and, to be frank, bad, when everything is being said in English and suddenly this one word is being said with a foreign pronunciation for the sake of "authenticity". At least this is how I remember it, either way the example stands. I don't want it to sound COMPLETELY faithful to the source, I want it to sound good. Like Simon from TTGL, which was mentioned earlier. Unless his name is actually pronounced See-Moan, and not simply the Japanese pronunciation for Simon, it should have been given the English pronunciation in the dub. And I think female characters get the bulk of bad voices. When I look to American cartoons, or shows in English, the voices sound fine. Generally. They sound like real people, meanwhile there are animes are using voices that sound like the furthest thing from a real voice, which has everything to do with the tropes I referred to. Like Jakuzure from KlK, and Shiro from No Game No Life. Who the **** talks like that in real life? Nobody. It takes me out of the show and really bugs me. Though this is entirely a personal hang-up. I'm sure there are people out there who like it, but for me it's one of the biggest eye-rollers in anime. this should be moved to discussion
you die edit: dammit
i know you're being facetious but i should add that he would send me the money
My friend, the X-Men fan, is offering to pay for me to see Days because I can't afford it. I don't know what to say. I want to accept the offer because I want to see Days, but at the same time I'm not comfortable with accepting because he's payed for me to do stuff before. It doesn't feel right. He wouldn't say why, but he wants me to see it, so I'm somewhat inclined to take him up on the offer but I would feel kinda scummy for doing it.
