I thought it would be "Official KHV Pokemon Tournament" or something boring like that, but I love love love the idea of naming it a league. thats awesome. How about The Kingdom League or The League of Hearts or The Master League or The League of Darkness (lol) or something? Or if anyone has any ideas at all that are better that would be great.

edit: im gonna go ahead and start making it if it hasn't been made already. maybe we could expand this even more and hold tournaments throughout the year, or even have it be a hub of sorts for khv Pokemon activity where anyone can play against another khv user whenever they want and keep a tally of wins. I know this is pretty ambitious thinking and maybe even leaves the realm of feasibility for a social group but it's something to think about, though really it's just a matter of coordination. I just think that in naming this a "league" it could be so much more. lol no. Even with perfect IVs and EVs in all the right stats with the appropriate nature and great moves, that's still a grossly optimistic statement to make considering the person you're playing against likely EV trained and got the right nature as well. just doesn't work like that
Those strategies (if you can call taking advantage of a luck-based system a strategy) are fine for in-game play, but in a competitive scene they can break the game when everyone is maxing EVs and sweeping. Deal with it.

Because legendary =/= OP. There's no reason Phione should be banned for the same reason Mewtwo is banned.
There are already many elements of luck to a game. Moves that decreases accuracy or increase evasion decrease how competitive a game can be while giving all of the advantage to one player. It's kinda the same idea behind only being able to put one pokemon to sleep at a time.

Gotcha. I just think having super op pokemon in this tournament, or whatever it is, of ours would make it less fun. I don't want to exclude certain legendaries by virtue of their rarity or strength but rather pmon that simply outclass others (like Mega Blaziken and Mega Gengar), and Smogon's tiers are good at defining what is op and what isn't. There's no reason we couldn't familiarize people who don't know the terms with them.

Before we discuss this here any more we may want to make an "official" thread of sorts or something somewhere so we can get the details and stuff figured out.

Rather than limiting what legendaries are used, I propose that we just not use any Ubers. It's easier to exclude that tier than to worry about whatever legendary falls under that specific category. You said you would like to ban Mega Blaziken. This would fall under Ubers which is another reason why we should avoid that tier altogether imo. luv blaziken but he's p. broken

I agree with the rest. Using Smogon's regulations and stuff is fine, though I'm not competitive enough to use them in my personal play (why I said we should establish how competitive this is just so we're on the same page, though after your post I think we have). Do we want to simplify all of this and adopt Smogon's clauses altogether? http://www.smogon.com/bw/banlist/ I have not given this an in-depth read yet, though I am somewhat familiar with it. We don't have to, but it may be a good idea to go by it or adjust it to our liking.

Driving without sleep isn't safe and you should get sleep, but in your case you're getting the same amount of sleep just at a different time. As long as you don't have to wake up early and drive, there's nothing wrong with it. And even though driving without sleep is bad, it's not as though you absolutely couldn't do it, and it's only really a problem if you've gone a long time without it. I've driven after getting little sleep in one night and had no problems. You just have to be careful as always.

I'm not rooting for anyone because I'm not on either of these sites so I don't care, I just find the idea that everyone should tag everything because someone could get triggered or offended, rather than those people not putting themselves in the position to be offended, obnoxious. I don't want to be all "it's the internet so you have to accept it" but there is a degree of inevitability. I just think people should be more responsible with their sensitivities rather than pushing the responsibility on others.

This is why it would be beneficial to spread it out over time and schedule when matches are so people could plan in advance.

I don't know anything about Earth-9 so I can't help you there, but the thing about any alternate universe story or story without a set continuity is that it's generally inconsequential to the mainline, and can be read on its own. You don't have to read a mainline book if that's not what you're interested if. But if you are interested in current, now's a great time to jump in because DC's New 52 is only a few years old. While it wasn't a totally successful reboot, you could theoretically pick up a book without feeling like you're missing out on 70 years of backstory. Their longest-running titles are now only 30 issues in, so you wouldn't be missing much by starting now, and it wouldn't be hard to go back and catch up. I would also recommend looking at trades because you get the same stories told in issues without being concerned with how many issues and across how many series. While I'm not a huge fan of trades for collecting purposes, they're wonderful for reading material. Whenever I get around to reading something like No Man's land, I'm certainly going to go to the trades rather than tracking down and worrying about how many issues there are.
I don't know how much you know about the format comics are released in, but once you understand that, it immediately becomes far less daunting to find what you're looking for and navigate the years and years of releases. Comic Vine is a great place to do some research and get a feel for what was released in which volume. I did a lot of browsing there when I came back and it made things so much easier. Wiki's are great as well. If you need help or something message me and I should be able to help.
