given that all anime is an accurate representation of real life, i'm inclined to believe everything would happen as you see it.

I mean there's not much to say. He only has 4 movies and a few shorts and miscellaneous things. Fans of his call him the "new Miyazaki" or something, a statement he finds to be an overestimation of his ability, and a statement I find to be a inaccurate assessment of his movies. I don't know much about him other than that. I kind of want to do some research on him to learn more because I like him so much, but there doesn't seem to be much to find.
i think i want to make a makoto shinkai thread where i discuss all of his works i know i said this about one piece and never made it but i havent given up im just lazy I watched his first film [long title] and it's not that great; you can see where the potential lies and where there's room for improvement. I think it's far too ambitious in it's plotting and doesn't quite hit the mark on either the sci fi or the drama it wants to be because it balances the two poorly, plus there's an abundance of contrivances and conveniences and things unanswered. However, just like the rest of his works, it resonates emotionally with me so deeply that I can't help but have a certain degree of fondness for it. Makoto always captures some of the most relatable human emotions in his films in a longing for "early days" coupled with a dissatisfaction of a present, something that I can relate to on a profound level. You can see where he improved in his later films, specifically Children which, while I like Days more then Children (that fantasy feel just isn't my thing), is much more coherent in its narrative, albeit less emotionally-driven. I'm not complaining too much because I watch Makoto films expecting and wanting my emotions to be wrecked and to see breathtaking animation and he always delivers on those. I think by Garden he's struck the perfect balance of an emotionally-driven story with plotting and characters solid enough to not detract from the film (though Garden isn't as fanciful in it's concept as Days or Children), which is why it's my favorite anime.

Both. Kinda. Better in that I'm more productive and focused on important things, but worse because I now live a joyless life.
Joel Siegel said the first Pokemon movie was the worst movie of 1999. that's hilarious and this is one of the hokiest/funniest things ever two classy gents walking across town with friendly banter to go to the movies. The one with Siegel is just as funny but I couldn't find it.

I had planned to place one in here once we had everything figured out and it was closer to time for the tournament. It would also be used for any play post-tournament. I'm trying to get some definitive decisions down so we can keep progressing in the planning process. As far as the tournament itself is concerned this is where we stand, yes? 2 tournaments A 3ds tournament where anyone can play where no genned Pokemon are allowed officially. A simulator tournament for competitive players. I want to ensure that casual players who may not want to play super competitively have a place to play as well in hopes that this will increase the number of participants, and since some people have expressed disapproval of genned mons, this will give them a place to play as well. However many people here seem to be at least somewhat competitive, so there will also be a simulator tournament for them. This may have to be adjusted depending on how many people want to play (will advertise/ interest check once we get things figured out).

I mean without Speed Boost he immediately becomes less threatening so I think that's pretty fair. though i have to wonder how many people have a Blaziken without speed boost

What do you want from ORAS? As in, what are things from XY that you like and want to see return, what are things that you would like to be improved upon, and what are things you think the series should let go and move away from?
It was an intentional change. I saw how my behavior wasn't being well received and I decided that I didn't like not being liked so I changed stuff. It's something I'm still working on. I'm still trying to find the best me and be that. It goes beyond the internet and into real life where there are things I don't like about myself or the way I do things and I try to change them. My biggest fear in life is probably being like something (details withheld) so I make an effort to not be like that. Maybe that's not healthy behavior but that's kinda what my life has come to. im sorry Truth or dare?
I like it as it is. I doubt it's a rule we'll need to consult very often, but as it stands I think it covers everything that needs to be covered and does it fairly.
