The way this opponent talked was more than a little strange, and kind of creepy. "I think I'll pass. If you liked that, you'll love this though" Vex stated simply as he realized what Xera was trying to do. Taking advantage of the fact that she was attacking from the side, Vex decided he needed to distract Precious. He reached down next to him and grabbed his axe, using his magic to send small sparks of electricity bouncing along it. Dashing forward, he swung the axe with tremendous force, slamming down towards Precious at an alarming speed. Hopefully this would work, but if not then he had another plan in mind. Oscar followed his little brother, keeping close behind him. He wasn't quite as quick, but he wasn't far off. Once he had made it on top of the roof, he turned around to check whether their pursuers had fallen behind or not; they had, but not by much. He took off quickly, leaping from rooftop to rooftop as he made his way over to the wall of the northern exit. Not slowing down, he leaped off of the wall and landed on the ground, rolling to break his fall slightly. "Samuel, come on!" he shouted. However, they had a new problem; their pursuers hadn't gone after them on the rooftops, they had instead just gone directly to the gate in an attempt to cut them off. Shrugging his shoulders and looking to his brother, he gave a slight smirk. This was what he was good at, this was what he enjoyed. "Gimme a minute, I'll take care of this" he stated. He tapped into his magical energy and in his hand materialized a mask. However, this was no ordinary mask. This mask was in fact a rare and powerful artifact. Oscar had found it in his time as a mercenary, and this mask among others had come in handy quite a lot. Placing the mask on his face, Oscar immediately felt its magic merging with his own. This mask in particular was that of a monkey, and with it he gained an enormous amount of agility and speed. In an instant, he was off. Racing towards the pursuers in leaps and bounds, he reached them in seconds. Drawing his blade, he began his assault. Sword strikes in every direction, along with the occasional punch and kick, flew at his enemies at an incredible speed. The pursuers put up a valiant effort, but they went down in about a minute and a half, each of them knocked unconscious. As the last one went down, Oscar hurried back to his brother's side, sheathed his blade, and took off the mask. Instantly, the magic stopped working. Giving a small smile, he gestured towards the path ahead. "Alright little brother, you're the smart one, lead the way" he said simply.
Gaius had listened to people voicing their opinions. It was strange, standing there but not saying anything, it was like he practically hadn't been there at all. However, he decided that now was the best time to speak. He wanted to complete the job, but he wasn't about to ignore the fact that one of their guildmates were missing. "Veilen's right, we should all go. Faster we get her back, the faster we can continue on with the job" Gaius said, agreeing with Veilen and also looking to his left for some unexplained reason. Skadi hadn't said anything when Silvia had said she didn't need the help. She didn't need any thanks, and she didn't see the point in pushing it further. She simply smiled and nodded. Later on, after all the crap with the sugar plum princess had gone through, she was a little sceptical. They were supposed to go venturing through a house they weren't familiar with, trying to find a fairy that may or may not exist, to help a nutcracker that was somehow alive, fighting talking mice...all on the word of an owl? It sounded a little hard to swallow. However, the others seemed to want to go through the mouse hole, especially Thea, so Skadi turned and started walking towards it. "Well, it's not like we're going to be turned back to our regular size standing around is it?" the girl asked simply, entering the mouse hole.
I've got a link I've got a link between you and me it really really stinks
Mother of calculations, he just found a way to take every single bit of effort Krowley would have to use out of the equation O.O
Glen was just about done with this battle. However, just as he decided it was over, an image popped into his head. An image of Kaida giving her all to finish the evil demons, and not being able to because of lack of BP. He wasn't going to allow that. He turned to call to Beuce to toss the pebble of legend his way, but his friend knew him too well; he knew exactly what to do. Leaping into the air, Glen did about a billion ninja flips despite not having the ninja class, spinning faster than a Garen and the swiftest beyblade all at once, and kicked the pebble much harder than every lee sin ultimate that had ever been used. The pebble flew at two demons in particular, and bounced repeatedly off them, creating the most badass game of pinball to ever exist and sending Glen into triple digit score. At this rate, he would earn an extra ball and be able to finish off the rest of the demons! As the two went down, Glen saw a clone of the pebble appear right before him; his reward for being awesome. Trying the same motion again, Glen missed and simply fell on his face, making himself look far more stupid than the entire Argentinian soccer team in 2014's world cup. The point is, THE DEMONS DIED AND PAVED WAY FOR KAIDA'S VICTORY. CSTAR THIS IS YOUR QUEUE, EMBRACE YOUR POWER AND STOP THE EVIL. Never mind, there was one too many. That demon spontaneously burst into flames. If you need a reason, it was because the snail had secretly relieved itself on that demon earlier, causing a delayed explosion. Horned Demons: 3/20
Focusing all his energy into a single attack, Glen flew into the sky and slammed with colossal force into Horned Demon 2. Faster and faster his body spun as he attacked, using his awesome speed stat to become a human drill and repeatedly hammer the demon....for 1 damage. Like a boss. Imp: 0/30 Horned Demons: 8/20 Brutes: 0/10 Injured: Horned Demon 1: 1/5 Horned Demon 2: 3/5 Horned Demon 3: 4/5
Unfortunately for Glen, he had a remarkably short attention span. There he was, about to engage in battle with the creatures, when he had seen the most amazing snail you ever heard of. Yes, a snail in an area full of demons. It was a demonic snail. Such a thing of beauty could not be harmed, for it would be the most heinous of crimes to injure it. That train of thought lasted for several minutes, but then Glen's impatience got the better of him. Beautiful as the snail was, he needed to get exp or he was screwed. He felt himself sobering up, but a quick cure stopped the hangover because the magic of storytelling demanded it. Now that the hangover was taken care of, he had accuracy once more. Lining up the snail, he kicked it with full force to get it out of his way. The snail went flying towards three brutes and landed in front of them, spinning and coming to a halt. What happened next sounds so impossible but I swear it happened. The snail exploded. Being a demonic snail, it unleashed the flames of hell upon its former allies that had allowed it to become a snailish soccer ball, and then three beeps later it unleashed a mighty explosion that would have probably killed everything in sight were it not for BP limits. Because of said BP limits, the 3 brutes vaporised instantly. 7/30 Imps 20/20 Horned 1/7 Brutes Injured: Imp 1/3 Brute 2/8
RNGesus has determined I shall sign up for Flynn!
Amidst the mass of people fighting was a man without a weapon. The man had heard everything going on outside and rushed to see what had happened, before being assaulted by some of the empire's soldiers. Being blind, the sounds ought to have terrified him, and to an extent they did, but his bravery far surpassed his fear, his determination his most powerful weapon. Unarmed, blind, and surrounded by multiple soldiers; five, to be exact. The odds were most certainly not even...for the soldiers opposing him. The man's name was Akin. He had once had a surname, but he had abandoned that long ago when he had lost everything else. He had heard the voice of the man responsible for his loss. Ares, one of The Thrones of Olympus. Akin felt an urge to simply charge through the soldiers in his path, to rush for Ares and defeat him then and there, but the blind guardian was no fool, he knew that to oppose Ares would mean certain death. No, the smarter option was to take care of these soldiers that surrounded him, and retreat to make sure that the goddess was safe. Every soldier there could die, could fall in the service of their leader, but all was not truly lost until the goddess was taken from them. Should that happen, it wouldn't be just the castle they would lose. Akin focused his senses now. He had to minimise his focus on the area around him, and focus more on the battle at hand. He was already missing one vital sense, he had to make excellent use of the others. As the first soldier attacked, Akin heard the sound of him stepping forward as well as the sound of the sword slicing through the air. To others, this may seem impossible, but to a man that had trained his hearing to be his greatest tool in battle, this was child's play. The sword never connected with Akin's skin. Spinning quickly, he surged forward with a kick to where he imagined the man's hand to be, making sure to duck down in case the blade was swung for his head, like so many soldiers did. It had been. The sword was dislodged from the soldier's grip, flying away from him and stabbing into the ground nearby. But the soldier would not get the chance to grab his blade. The guardian before him was already on top of him, bombarding him with a flurry of kicks and punches, before he lost consciousness and fell. The other soldiers had closed the gap now. Akin heard the sounds of three of them moving towards him, and immediately he was prepared. As each of them attacked, he avoided them, using nothing but his sense of hearing to predict where the strikes were coming from. Again and again the soldiers tried to take down this one man, and repeatedly they failed. After a time, Akin retaliated with his own attacks. Several kicks and punches were thrown at them, taking out on of the soldiers. After narrowly avoiding another strike from the second, he turned to face him and lashed out with a punch. It felt as though it had connected with his face. So, he had an indication of height now. He grabbed the man's head and forced him downwards slightly, before raising his own knee and delivering a painful blow to the soldier's face, probably breaking his nose and knocking the man out. The third soldier had the sense to run. Akin could hear the frantic footsteps, the heavy breathing as panic set in. He would not escape, however. Using his special technique he had trained so hard to achieve, Akin fired a sonic wave at the man, hearing it hit him. Upon being hit, the soldier was hidden no longer from Akin, the guardian knowing exactly where he was. Dashing towards the soldier, he assaulted him with a flying kick, hitting him in the back and knocking him unconscious too. As the fourth soldier from that battle went down, Akin had a startling realization. There had been five soldiers, and he hadn't heard the fifth move. Where were they? He got his answer moments later. He heard the sound of the man leaping into the air from behind him. This was a horrible situation to be in. He wasn't familiar enough with the outer area itself to remember whether or not there was a raised platform that the soldier had leaped from. Instinctively, Akin shot a quick kick backwards, but missed the soldier entirely. So yes, there had been a raised platform of sorts. The only option now was to roll out of the way and hope for the best, but was there enough time? He wasn't so sure. He was dead, he would join the other fallen soldiers here on the battlefield. You will not fall today, Guardian Akin heard the voice before he heard the collision. He knew that voice anywhere, and yet others would not have heard anything. He allowed himself a slight smile as he realized what was about to happen. Engaged in an aerial battle, Gale had been fending off several enemies. The Griffin was a fierce combatant, never flinching and never stopping his assault against the ones that had dared to invade the castle. He had, however, been forced to escape his particular fight. He had kept an eye on Akin the entire time, always making sure his friend was safe, for he knew that the guardian was blind and could not see when an enemy was sneaking up on him; and Gale knew it was entirely his fault. The second he had seen the soldier sneaking up on Akin and climbing a few steps up a staircase, Gale knew exactly what the soldier was trying to do. Abandoning his own fight, Gale shot like a bullet from a gun straight towards the soldier. The soldier jumped off of the staircase, blade raised and going straight towards Akin. He never hit the ground, however. Gale, flying at a frightening speed, caught the soldier mid jump and raised him into the air. The griffin had no sympathy for murderers, for the scum of the empire; they had lost that luxury the day they killed both his and Akin's family. They had severed any ties to the only people that Akin and Gale had cared about, so Gale saw no reason not to do the same to them. He released the soldier. The cries could be heard from a great distance away, the scream that the soldier let out as he plummeted towards the ground, hitting it with a sickening sound before he screamed no more, nor would he ever again. Gale flew down next to Akin. He knew that while Akin had not seen what he'd done, he knew exactly what had happened. The two knew each other remarkably well, and while both of them were aware of their combat talents, they were also aware of how cold and ruthless they both were when it came to the empire. The griffin and the guardian knew all too well the pain and suffering that the empire caused, and this heavily influenced their actions. However, one other thing they knew was when a battle was lost. This battle cannot be won. We should retreat inside and protect the goddess at all costs. Thank you was the response Akin gave, not sure what else to say. The griffin nodded, before the two took off towards the goddess' room.
Spoiler: Great Forest "She cast doom on you? This girl vomitting over the sight of a dead body, hating the idea of death altogether, tried to kill you unprovoked?" Dane questioned. Something didn't seem right about it. He hadn't expected Alisia to go back willingly, but for her to turn around and try to outright kill Samsara seemed a little off. "Hmm. Well, I guess that sort of explains what took you so long. I would've thought you would have been quicker. She didn't exactly run very fast, and it's not like she's good at defending herself. Guess you really do need someone to teach you how to fight huh?" Dane insulted. However, her and Lucien were right; standing around wasting time wouldn't be a great idea, they had to find the hero so they could kil- save him. He shrugged his shoulders. "Alright, may as well look around. You knocked her out though, so you've gotta carry her. Be careful if she wakes up though, wouldn't want you to get your ass kicked or anything like that would we" he said, unable to resist the urge as he walked after Lucien. Spoiler: Olympus Coliseum As Hunter and the others arrived at the arena, the male had the strangest feeling. What was it? It was like a heap of soundless screams, like people were being killed by...a giant magnifying glass lasering everything? No no, that wasn't what it was. Everything set on fire and defenceless orphans trapped inside? Unfortunately not. Which meant...it had to have been a laser fired at a whole crowd because the user hated darkness with a passion. What? This wasn't the first time he'd encountered such things, he knew this kinda stuff. Okay, he read the post, but this way makes it seem like he's some sort of detective. "Oi, Ginger, look at what we've got as our first match. Zombies! These aren't like the zombies from your rp though, these are ghostly zombies. Really, we shouldn't be able to hurt them too well, bein' spirits of the dead and all. But fortunately for us.." Hunter began, before equipping The Bloodthirster and slashing at the zombie thing in front of him, slicing it clean in half. "The plot demands victory!" he finished, completely abusing the fact that it was predetermined they would win. Spoiler: Cite de forgottherestofthenamebecauseTomneverfinishedthetabname Just as Caleb had decided to take down Dane, agreed to stop a monstrosity before he could kill anything, he saw a truly horrific sight. So many people gathered around because of them, standing close by one another as they tried to figure out what had happened. Then, before they could figure anything out, a complete lunatic swept the area with some kind of light-based beam, vaporizing the people as the light connected with them. For a moment, Caleb stood there unable to believe his eyes. He had always thought of the light as a force of good, something to help people, not to kill them. He could remain silent no longer. "Purified?! Human life isn't something to be taken whenever the hell you please, they aren't some disease to be cured! You worship the light, you kill in its name, but you're no different to any of the people tainted with darkness I've seen!" Caleb shouted. Holding both his arms forward, he thought of the dual blades he so often fought with. Their weight, their power, their appearance; everything about it memorised in his head came into play now. A glow enveloped his hands, before fading away to reveal the weapons that had been created there in Caleb's hands. The man had always thought of himself as a protector of light, and now he was facing an opponent who killed in its name....had so much really changed whilst he'd been away?
Skadi nodded to Alessia. "Yeah, help Thea! I'll help Silvia. The sooner we take down these mice, the better!" the ice mage replied. She turned and hurried over to Silvia, who seemed to be struggling against two mice. I should've tried to help sooner than this, Skadi thought to herself. Rushing towards the mice, Skadi leaped at mouse 14 and swung her staff with all her might against the creature. Skadi used Quick Blitz on mouse 14! "If the wand of light is what we need, then we should get started on that as soon as we can" Caleb stated simply. ooc: ready to go
Caleb stood, unflinching. He had gotten good at not responding to anger, remaining perfectly calm in situations such as the one he was in. It was tough though, listening to what Ghost was saying to him. 300 years had passed, and yet Caleb still considered him a good friend, so hearing how much anger and frustration was in his voice hurt just a little. "Satsujin, that man may have enslaved the girl, but he saved my life. When we were trapped in the beast's castle, we were attacked. Beuce, Xero and Gexln were among our attackers, but it wasn't just them. I had no way of escaping, and had it not been for Dane, I'm not so sure I would have survived" Caleb said quietly. When Ghost took off his helmet, Caleb started questioning his decision. He'd heard the words, but the words had more effect when he could actually see the truth in Satsujin's eyes. He could see the confusion, the annoyance, and maybe that was what pushed him to change his mind. Caleb had no idea what had happened between Dain and Dane in Beast's Castle, but he knew this much; Dane had treated his death like a joke, as though it was the most magnificent thing in the world. He'd also not taken things seriously when he was fighting Xero and Gexln, from what he could see. Dane treated fighting, treated killing as a joke. As a game. Caleb had to do the right thing, not the honourable thing. If he repaid his debt, he'd owe Dane nothing, but there was no telling what would happen. If he wasn't stopped, how many lives would be lost in the game before it came to an end? No, he had to be stopped now, while they had the chance. "You don't need to worry about people not helping. I had the chance to stop him before and I screwed it up, I'm not going to make the same mistake twice" he said simply, the heavy feeling inside his stomach settling. Dane had to refrain from laughing as Samsara tried to intimidate him. Normally he wouldn't have been intimidated at all, but the fact that Samsara was about a full foot shorter than her only made it even funnier. He looked down on her the entire time, snorting every so often. Eventually, she let go and walked off. And grabbed Alisia's hand. She took his slave. Racing over, Dane grabbed Samsara and slammed her up against a tree, just holding her into the air. "Listen, I've been a real nice guy so far, agreeing to teach you, joking around with you, I even let you kill some of my things, and now you're going to not only threaten me, but try to take away my slave? You couldn't beat it into me if you tried, but fortunately for you you don't have to. I know your name, I've known it from the moment you told me, I just find it hilarious watching you squirm with rage at being called the wrong one. I'll teach you everything I know, but first you're going to have to learn to control your temper. If you can't do that, then you won't be able to do anything at all and the darkness will consume you, and then I'll just have to make sure there's as much life left in you as the bird Alisia had to move, okay?" Dane asked rhetorically. "So, just play nicely, hold your temper, and we'll be fine. I'm sorry I'm a crap teacher. You deserve better, Anadi" Dane said, patting her on the head like he would a dog, before letting her down. It was at this point that Dane heard Alisia making a run for it. He let out a sigh. "She's going to be trying this a lot, isn't she? Catch her, and I'll teach you how to throw a dark fireball of death and destruction, or something like that" the man said, too annoyed to actually go catch the girl himself. Hunter was actually surprised. Like, not even kidding, he was genuinely shocked that Gwen had called him by his name. Years of being called asshole, moron, and generally not very nice names...oh wait, that was just one of her boring-ass lectures. She had too many of those. "Ah I get what you're playin' at. You wanna form a team just so you can ride my coattails into the finals huh? I'll play your little game, and I'll carry the lot of ya all the way through before demolishin' the hero myself" Hunter said, not cocky in the slightest.
Name: Akin Age: 30 Faction: Union Race: Human Appearance: Spoiler Pact Partner: Gale Pact Price: His sight Weapon: His body itself, for he fights using Martial Arts. He can use a blade efficiently, though he does not carry one on him. Weapon magic: Sonic Wave/ Resonating Strike: Fires a soundwave towards an opponent. If this soundwave hits, Akin launch himself at the target with a flying kick. Safeguard: Akin dashes to a nearby ally, shielding both himself and the ally. The shield absorbs a miniscule amount of damage before it breaks, however. Personality: Serious, quiet, but exceptionally determined and co-ordinated. Bio: Spoiler Akin was a part of a very proud and noble town. When the empire began their takeover, Akin's village was one of the first to refuse to bow down. A young Akin would watch the warriors of the town defending their home, always looking up to them and wishing he could be like them. At the age of 16, Akin got his wish, but it came with a heavy price. Whilst training in a field, he encountered a Griffin. The creature seemed vastly intelligent, and concerned for the safety of its kind. Akin voiced his concerns about his village constantly being in a state of war, and told of his desire to protect them, to become one of the warriors that had dedicated their lives to the safety of the town. The Griffin told Akin that he would not become one of the warriors he wished to, but would become far more powerful than that. The two creatures formed a pact, a union of souls, and they became much stronger, although Akin lost his sight as a cost for his newfound strength. After the ritual of the pact was completed, the two creatures parted ways, knowing they were linked but each of them having their own homes to protect. The young guardian, from that day onward, became one of the most powerful warriors to ever set foot in the town. The town stopped having as many casualties, and with Akin on the front lines they were able to effortlessly repel the might of the empire. At least, they were until they decided to send one of The Thrones. The Thrones were the most elite of Olympus, and it was one of them that was sent to deal with Akin's village. Ares, the warmonger, was sent along with a huge force of soldiers. Akin fought bravely, but he stood no chance against Ares or his pact partner. At the age of 20, Akin's village was destroyed, and Akin himself was beaten to the point he was barely alive. He was thankful for being blind, as he did not have to see it, but when he had lost his sight his other senses had been amplified, so their screams were much, much louder. Ares left the defeated guardian alive, knowing full well that he would never overcome what he had just been a part of. Akin was a broken man. He began roaming the lands, looking for a new purpose, but he could not find one worthy. However, on his travels he ran into the griffin he had met many years ago. The griffin, being linked to Akin, had felt the pain he had felt, and wanted to help. The warrior got onto his griffin's back, and they took off, determined to never again let the empire wreak such destruction. Theme: Last Whisper Name: Gale Age: 17 Faction: Union Race: Griffin Appearance: Spoiler Pact Partner: Akin Personality: Honourable, has a keen intellect, swift to act. Bio: Spoiler Gale is part of an endangered species. Griffins were once proud creatures, helping whoever needed it but always getting caught up in other peoples' fights. Perhaps it was this attitude that got so many of them killed off. Gale, however, did not take part in most of them. He was never associated with the warriors of his kind, instead scouting out for people that needed them. There was one day that he did find someone that needed him, and as Gale went to investigate, he found a young boy who wanted to protect his home. The boy reminded him of himself; a creature who was not allowed to fight for his family, but still tried his best to do what he could. The two formed a pact, each becoming linked to the other's soul, and then parted ways. Years later, Gale's family had been all but completely wiped out. It had been years since Gale had seen any other griffins, at least not any living ones. He had been searching desperately, when he suddenly felt a horrendous pain inside his chest. He knew immediately that it was not his, but Akin's. He took off as fast as he was able to, in an effort to protect the one friend he had left, but he was too late. By the time he found Akin, the man's village had been killed, and everything had been taken from him; just as Gale's had. The two realized that to form a pact with another and seperate was dangerous, as if one died the other would also die. More importantly though, Gale was the only friend Akin had left, and Akin the only one Gale had. It was time they began acting as one, as they should have been from the start. And so, Gale allowed Akin to climb onto him, and the two took off, their minds set on stopping Olympus once and for all. Theme: Challengers Name: Calor Age: 1003 Faction: Elves Race: Dragon Appearance: Spoiler Pact Partner: Travis Personality: Short tempered, protective of his friends, can get aggressive easily. Holds grudges for quite a long time and does not forgive easily. Bio: Spoiler Calor has always been a creature of instinct. If he saw a creature and wanted to hunt it, he hunted it. Once, while he was out on a hunt, he encountered a curious creature. An elf, of all things. Calor personally had never met an elf he liked, but for some reason he didn't mind the one he met. The two conversed, and Calor could sense that despite appearing very laid back about things, the elf wanted to protect his village. Calor made the decision to help the elf, for if he could help out his new friend, he wanted to. The elf and dragon made a pact to one another, becoming linked, and as Travis lost his sense of fear, Calor lost much of his free will. It was a huge price to pay, but if it kept his little elven friend safe, then it would be worth it. Theme: Dragon Fight
"Look man, I get you want to find the hero, and so do I. I wouldn't be here if I didn't want to find him, would I? He's a hero, if we kill enough things he'll come out to stop us, and then we explain that the true villain is the goddess. He'll see all the corpses around here, but isn't there some heroic crap about the needs of the many rather than the needs of the few? Relax would ya? I'm not stupid, we'll find your damn hero" Dane responded to Lucien. "You don't need to clean up the rest of the corpses, Slave. I don't care where they wind up, I just love watching them die. Damn, you could really learn from Samuel here though" Dane stated, before turning his attention to Samsara. "Okay, now Susan, the first thing you have to know is that you can't keep changing names. If you wanna be a villain, you have to have some sort of badass name. Once you figure one out, then I'll teach you the next thing" he said, not really caring whether or not he was a good teacher. He just wanted to kill all the woodland creatures he could. Caleb was torn. He wanted to help Alisia, especially after seeing firsthand what Dane was actually like, but he owed him. Were it not for Dane, Caleb would have been stopped at the Beast's Castle. He couldn't make dark corridors, and there was no way he could've gotten past everyone to get to Audrey, so against his better judgement he'd asked for help from one of the worst people Caleb had ever known. And, despite clearly not wanting to leave, Dane had helped him and they'd both escaped. "The girl's situation sounds horrible, and I wish there was something I could do, but I'm not going to have any part of it" Caleb said, looking down at the ground uncomfortably. It was very difficult for him to not try to save Alisia, but he didn't have much of a choice. Dane wasn't an honourable man, but Caleb was, and a debt was a debt no matter who it was to.
Gaius shook his head at Scott's response. "Mom may not have had the best life, but there's no way she would have abandoned us. Dad, maybe, but not her. She wouldn't leave me and Suzy behind. She's missing, and I'm going to find out why. If the king can't tell me, then I'll find someone who will" Gaius stated. Needless to say, he was determined to find his mother. He had been since he left home, and after coming all that way there was no way he was going to go back on his promise now. He glanced over to see Caleb standing there looking rather impatient. It seemed the guard had decided to let them through after all. Turning his back to Scott, the boy continued into the castle, ready to see the king. Oscar didn't say too much as Samuel went and pickpocketed people. There wasn't much to do or say aside from follow his younger brother and watch out for guards, so that was exactly what he did. As he got to the exit, he thought about the path they were going to take. It was exceptionally dangerous and he knew it, but if they made it all the way to Moredoor..there was no doubt they would have lost their pursuers. If they lost their pursuers, then perhaps they could make it all the way to the castle undetected, then just maybe they could sneak inside and see the king. And then it was possible they could get forgiveness if they explained things. It was a slim possibility, but it was all they had to cling onto. Vex's fist connected, but it didn't have the effect he had desired. He'd certainly felt the impact, but the man barely even flinched. Who was this guy? As the whip came at Vex, the mercenary tried to avoid the attack, but he hadn't gone against many whip users in his lifetime. Holding up his arms, he tried to protect himself as best as he was able, causing the whip to avoid any vitals but cutting his forearm a little. It stung pretty badly, which was unusual for a man who had been through a great deal of physical pain. Taking a couple of steps back, Vex decided he needed to re-think his strategy. Which wasn't helped in the slightest by a small hamster thing leaping up and declaring itself god of everything and demanding they bow. Some god. Maybe the hamster wasn't a problem though, maybe it was a solution. A sly smirk appeared on Vex's face as he jumped behind the bar. Unleashing a blast of his lightning magic, it crashed into Johnis, sending the small creature flying straight towards Precious along with a bolt of electricity. "Shove that up your ass!" Vex shouted.
Gaius scratched his head nervously. The curse was pretty bad, turning them into demons and whatnot, but was the moon really to blame? Even if it was, how were they going to destroy it? They'd shown they could throw Veilen pretty high, but he didn't think that they were that good at it."Do ya have any ideas on how to take it out of the sky?" he asked. The boy was genuinely stumped for solutions, so maybe asking the NPC that gave them the quest would make them say something useful. After having taken down her mice, Skadi had taken just a minute to take a short break and recover her stamina. She'd used a fair bit of energy fighting the rodents near her, but she could relax no longer; people were being hurt. With Mizuki downed, Skadi could only hope that somebody else would get there before she did, especially because there were several rats between her and Mizuki, so getting there to heal would be an extremely dangerous thing to do. She trusted the others to an extent though, and believed they would be able to cover it. So, instead she ran over to Thea, who seemed to be struggling with her own enemies. "Hang in there Thea. We're dolly sized now, remember? Look at that one go" the ice mage said, gesturing at the nutcracker. "If these rats get the better of you, you won't get to see all the other magical dollies that have come to life, and I don't know about you but I kind of want to see them" she said with a slight laugh, before turning her attention towards the creatures she was fighting. Acting swiftly, she fired a blast of air at the enemies, hoping to knock them off their feet and make things a little easier for her young friend. Skadi cast Aero on Mouse army member 11!
How do you know it exists?
Spoiler So, was in a call with my girlfriend and figured I'd take a pic of myself when I was genuinely happy. #MOOSEPAJAMAS
Caleb also followed the objective. Walking, no talking though he's too antisocial at the moment. He walked to the place with the thing at that time. Yeah, you know the one i'm talking about.
This man was a little pushy. Although, if he were like that then he probably tried to talk to a lot of people, so he may have seen someone that knew Gaius' mother. "I'm here to ask him about someone. A woman went missing a few years ago, her name was Samantha Ryan. She was a Historian, and I know she was one of the people that helped the king with a few important matters, so I figured he probably knows. Have you heard of her?" Gaius asked, almost desperate for information. Amongst the various people fighting, Vex noticed a newcomer enter and help Xera. That was good, it meant he wouldn't have to watch her back, not that he was particularly keen on doing so anyway. He ducked underneath a punch thrown at him by a stranger next to him, and turned and placed his axe on the ground. Using such a large weapon in close quarters with so many people around would get bloody quick, which he was completely fine with, but it could severely limit it. With his magic he'd be fine fighting without a weapon anyway. Launching a swift jab to the stranger's stomach, he winded his foe before hitting him in the jaw with a fierce uppercut, knocking him unconscious. Turning his attention back to Precious, Vex let out a slight chuckle. "You aren't the first guy to try to arrest me, plenty have tried. Every one of them failed, as will you" Vex said, dashing forward. Sparks began dancing along the mercenary's body as he used his magic to strengthen his punch aimed towards Precious' skull. Oscar smirked a little bit as Samuel mentioned the book and, more importantly, Moredoor. "Moredoor huh? Sounds good to me" he responded. He could hear plenty of angry cries and shouts behind him now, the guards must have gotten up already. Oscar had no doubt he could hold them off if he tried, but would Samuel be able to? Even if they could, more would surely come after them, it was only a matter of time. He rushed past Samuel and began running towards the northern exit. The path that it led to would eventually take them to Moredoor, as Samuel no doubt knew, but the guards would never think that they would follow the path all the way would they? It had plenty of dangers associated with it, and even without the dangerous creatures thrown into the mix the walk was still quite lengthy. It was sheer insanity to attempt to get there from where they were. And that was why it was the perfect escape route.
