I don't have lines, but there is a way to make the box bigger, just saw this now. Clicking on the bottom arrow will make it bigger, clicking on the top makes it smaller.
I don't know if it's possible or not, but if you're typing long posts, you can copy and paste everything into a Word document, write your replies/RP plot/etc., then paste it back into the text box. The only formatting you have to do then is BBCode, unless you manually type it in the Word document. That's what I usually do with long posts, so I don't really see a need for the box to be bigger. Though how much bigger are you suggesting?
