I kind of had this idea a while back when I was having some trouble with a friend with whom I had fallen in love, but didn't want a serious relationship. So after a month or so of thinking about it, I finally took the short story that I originally wanted to write and turned it into what I have now. It's not really a story, but it's an original work that doesn't really fit in with Poetry and Lyrics, so here it is. It's partially based on real life (for example, she and I do have plans to go to Godaikocon) mixed with a few fictional details here and there. Any backstory not explicitly stated is to be inferred on the part of the reader, and I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with in that department. I know he hasn't objected to it while we were talking about it around him, but I just want to be sure. I mean, this is the guy who sent his daughter off to Maine to be totally cut off from society for a month, but I'm still worried that the day to leave or start making plans will come and we'll suddenly find out that you can't go.
