"I see!" Van Helsing replied. "But wait!" He gasped, putting a hand to his heart in mock-shock. "You're doing it right now! Should I be terrified?"
"What on earth do you think they're doing up there?" Van Helsing asked. "I wonder if I want to know..."
"You two are so sweet!" Van Helsing teased, thumping Carl's shoulder. He walked over to Lexi and Sorin's carriage and jumped up into the driver's seat, grabbing the reigns. "This thing is leaving soon," he announced as if he had a crowd waiting for rides. "Edward and Hannah shall be down soon, I'm sure. I won't desert them," he added, reassuring Carl.
Van Helsing grinned. "Great. Sorry, Carl," he added, even as the friar turned away. "You seemed to have gotten dismissed to carriage full of belongings..."
"Nope, nothing to pack unless you've got some personal stuff like Carl said," Van Helsing replied. "They will be down soon... or we're going anyway. As for seaitn arrangements," he said, looking at Carl. "You can choose wherever you like. I know Edward and Hannah will want to sit together, and Beatrice would certainly like to lead the other horses, I think. You can sit in the carriage with your things and Jinx, or either of you can sit on top with me. It's up to you."
"Sorry," Van Helsing muttered. "I just... I'll tell you both later if that's alright with... with Edward."
Van Helsing mentally slapped himself, angry he had let his last sentence slip through his laughter. I don't think Edward wants me to tell them yet... it is up to him... and I need to ask him what he did this afternoon, where he was... "Nothing," Van Helsing spoke aloud. "Just slipped my mind..."
"Yes, that is not the category I would ever place you in, dear," Van Helsing muttered. "And, Carl... there's something else you shoud know..."
"Maybe we tease you too much, Carl," Van Helsing began, trying to sound serious despite the chuckle in his voice. "You are beginning to take me too seriously!"
"Hey," Van Helsing smirked. "One of those twenty might save your abnormally live life, so don't you dare laugh about it! And yes, Carl has all we need. If we find he doesn't later then we can yell at him."
"Those two and Beatrice better come down soon," Van Helsing said, still smiling, looking at the sun now beginning to fade in the afternoon sky. "We should start getting ready to go soon."
Van Helsing roared with laughter once more. "Brilliant! She's a... hmm..." He searched for a word. "Ah!" he exclaimed. "A vegetarian vampiress! I really hope there are more people like her out there, don't you, Carl?"
"Wonderful," Van Helsing grinned, having fun with Carl's horrified reactions. "Now all we need is the lovely lady her beast to get out here!"
"Never!" Van Helsing sighed with a loud laugh. "And she's got dinner, Carl. Honestly, can't you tell?" He laughed even harder when he saw the diguised sack of potatoes.
"Alright," Van Helsing muttered. "Well, I will be guiding Sorin and Lexi from the driver's seat... maybe I can convince Jinx to ride there with me. What do you think?"
Van Helsing laughed to himself. "I was talking about how we are going to arrange our little group in these carriages," he spoke, looking back at Carl. "Any seating preferences on your end?"
"Deal," Van Helsing sighed, going over to Sorin and leading her outside to the other side of the stable. Lexi waited patiently as her new friend joined her to pull the carriage. "Well, this is going to be interesting..." he muttered, glad he amused himself.
"Go check on her, Edward," Van Helsing said. "I will hook up Sorin." He gave up arguing; if it was his choice, he would have left Hannah by now, or just dumped her into the carriage and rambled on despite what damage it may do. "You better have something good, Carl," he spoke now as Edward left the stables once more for the inn. "About Dracula... death options and whereabouts... that's a good start."
"I don't know," Van Helsing replied. "It would unconvienient to stay for another day. What do you think, Carl?"
Van Helsing sighed, holding a hand up to himself, mocking shock. "Me?" he asked incredulously. "You're joking! I am never as disgusting as Edward here! I am ashamed to think you believe me so... inhuman!"
