Van Helsing sat up in the carriage, rubbing his head. I thought I was pretending to sleep, not passing out on myself, he thought, jumping out of the carriage. He walked over to the tavern and saw Carl getting them rooms. "How many rooms have you reserved with your tiny bit of money? Paying for the lady now, too?"
"You like her," Van Helsing added stubbornly before turning over and shutting his eyes tightly.
"So is Beatrice more lovely now she's one as well?" Van Helsing asked slyly.
"I'm teasing, Carl," Van Helsing smiled. "And you can't tell me she isn't pretty, either," he added, shutting his eyes.
"Thank you, Carl," Van Helsing smirked. "Next time I have trouble with a woman, particularly a lovely vampire, I shall let you know of the situation and maybe you can solve all the problems."
Van Helsing returned the smile. "Not good enough, it seems," he responded. "She still yells at me too much."
"Um," Van Helsing began, sitting on the bench opposite Carl. "No. I just figured I can get on her better side if I listen. I'm fine."
"If you insist, dear," Van Helsing sighed, and jumped easily over to the carriage Carl was all alone in. "Enough room for me?" he asked, opening the door and climbing inside. "I've been instructed to sleep."
"I think I'm up now," Van Helsing said with a little laugh. "That woke me up enough. Thank you," he added sincerely. "For coming over here.""
Van Helsing woke up abruptly, shaking his head and yawning at Jinx. "Sorry," he apologized. "I really wasn't tired earlier... I guess I should rest more often... is everyone alright?"
Van Helsing yawned, pushing back his hat to look out over the horizon. The sun was just beginning to go down. His eyes kept failing on him, his head falling down against his chest. I can stay up, he told himself firmly. Just... stay... up...
Van Helsing started the carriage forward. Now that he was sitting he found his eyelids beginning to droop from not sleeping for over two days, and he shook his head to stay awake.
Van Helsing climbed onto his carriage after hooking Lexi back next to Sorin. "Alright, then," he said. "Shall we now that we're all together again?"
"I was joking," Van Helsing muttered. "I knew you'd be fine."
"What did you do to him, Beatrice?" Van Helsing teased.
Van Helsing stayed smiling. "I'm glad you think that now," he muttered, giving Edward and Hannah a sideways glance.
"Me, too," Van Helsing sighed, giving Jinx a wide grin. "Thank you for your support."
"Of course," Van Helsing smiled, leading Lexi next to them. "And I don't plan to be parted from her again," he added.
OOC: teehee!!!
"I'd think it's obvious," Van Helsing smiled rudely. "But I'm not upset with you, Edward. I merely wished you would have asked me."
