Actually your description of the Bible where "a group of writers were trying to 'control people'" that was actually the Roman Catholic church. The Bible is written by God. Sounds ridiculous doesn't it? God wrote the Bible by putting his words into the minds of the authors of the books of the Bible. How you ask? Well he is God isn't he. He has power over all things and people. If God is in control of all things why do bad things happen to people? Well he gives us free will so we can make good/bad decisions on our own. But you have to remember that all things work together for good so anytime your in a tight squeeze you can guarantee that. anyway yes I think it is the "Good" Book ^_^
I don't have much to say to this except that racism should die. When you're a kid you don't even care what the person looks like that your playing with. They could be missing an arm or a leg or in a wheelchair you could have skin discoloration but you didn't care. You just wanted to play. I think that we all should think like kids in that respect and make equality rule.
