"I cannot love Darkness." Kai gently pulled her arm away. "I can tell you already have a precious person. Don't choose me over her."
Kai stood still and kept her eyes downcast. "You spread Darkness. It's my job to stop everyone who does that. I will leave here knowing I've done my job." She turned her back and went the opposite direction.
Kai picked a book off the shelf and stood up. "I didn't lie. I just can't be with someone who hurts my sister in any way. And obviously," She walked away but paused at the doorway. "you have hurt my sister." She left the library.
Kai stood up. "Does there really have to be a trade off? I've protected them because I've wanted to. In the end, they led me here. I found my sister thanks to them. And I've made lots of friends too. Haven't gotten to meet the King yet.... but I guess that doesn't really matter. Maybe I acquired that Light from protecting them. And yeah, I guess I've gained some knowledge. Like that skill to tell almost everything about a person with just one glance." She leaned back down. But I have been kinda lonely these last few years.... at least I had Hiro with me.
"Yes." Kai leaned down to look at the lower shelves. "I am."
"Hiro, you stay with Kairi." Kai stood up and smiled as Hiro floated to Kairi's side. "I'll be back." She walked to the library. Oh right, Silax is in here... well, I'll just find the book quickly. I'm sure he wants to be left alone with his research on me. She sauntered over to the shelves and scanned the shelves. Where is it...?
"Of course I can!" Garxena said, hitting one of the soilders. Crap.... that barely did anything. She positioned herself carefully. This could be harder than I thought. Kai sat up straighter. "Serious? I'm just thinking." Hiro floated over to Kai and sat in her lap. What you thinkin'? Kai giggled. "With that cute look on your face, I really wish that I could read minds." She hugged him. Squishing.... Hiro squirmed out of Kai's arms and moved to her shoulder. Me like this better.

Hiro plopped on Kairi's head. Pretty girl think me is 'wonderful'! "You don't have to Silax." She smiled at Kairi and Hiro. "He's taken to you two quickly." She folded her arms over her chest. "We met in a interesting way. I was at my limit in a rough fight. This wacko wanted to get rid of all the Moogles; said they were secretly planning something. Complete nonsense of course. So I engaged this guy. But he turned out to be toughed than I thought. Just when I thought I was finished, Hiro came and bit him! Kai laughed, watching Hiro bob around the window. "He can be a bit of a burden sometimes. But I owe my life to him. And he's great company. He knows how to cheer me up too. I just wish I knew what he was thinking. He won't talk at all. I don't think he ever has." Kai frowned. "Sometimes I wonder if something happened...."
Kai stroked Hiro. You need somewhere safe to stay. Obviously, my ship won't do. Perhaps you could just stay in my and Garxena's room. That should work. She smiled. I don't know what I would've done without you, Hiro. She looked up at Kairi. "Rain can be nice every once in a while." Hiro yawned and opened his eyes. Rain?! Weee! Me like rain! He bounced upwards and flew to a window. Oooh! Me see rain.
"That's true..... but Hiro doesn't know what sides are. He doesn't care if you're Dark and I'm Light. All he knows is the concept of friends. So I don't mind if he wants to hang around you." Kai smiled at Hiro. Huh...? Hiro rolled onto his back. Me sleepy... He fell asleep and snored slightly. Kai laughed. "That's cuter everytime." Kai looked at Silax. "I should.... I'm surprised Hiro likes you that much. He usually just pouts until I get back." She sat down with Hiro in her lap. "You need to listen to me more." she told him affectionately. Hiro moved to sit between the two. Me don't wanna. Me wanna be with friends Silax and Kai. He sat closer to Kai. Silax no like me being close to him... but me like Silax!
Garxena nodded, holding her Oblivionblade in front of herself. This is it. I can't give up. Hiro landed on the arm of the couch next to Silax. Me like this place. It big. "Hiro?!" Kai got off the couch across from Silax and Hiro. "How did you get out?" She picked him up and cradled him. "You know I don't want you flitting around other worlds. You could get into trouble." She ignored Silax. "I guess it's okay this time. Just stay near someone trustworthy." she tapped Hiro's nose.
Garxena opened her eyes and stood up. "Alright, I'm ready." She pulled out her Oblivionblade. "How many do you think there are?" Hiro floated by Silax. Me don't want to be in ship anymore. He flipped in a somersault way. Me like being outside with someone!
Garxena smiled at Kyo. "Don't let me sleep too long...." She closed her eyes and fell quickly to sleep. Kai trudged back to the lobby. She sat on a couch. Maybe I should have brought Hiro with me..... Hiro opened the door with some difficulty, and hurriedly flew after Silax through the portal. Yay! Me did it! He plopped onto Silax's head and squeaked excitedly.
Kai patted Hiro's head. "Don't get too friendly with him." She said softly. She placed Hiro on her bed towards the back of the Gummi ship. "I'll come back as soon as I can." She kissed his head and left her Gummi ship. "Stay safe my cute Moogle." Kai put her hands in her pockets and walked off. Hiro flew to the front window and looked out. He watched Kai and Silax walk away in different directions. Me miss them....
Kai rubbed her nose against Hiro's. "He's been with me for a long time now." Hiro hid behind her. "Oh come on now." She turned and held him, facing Silax again. "Hiro's shy. But he can be very protective." She stood next to Silax. Hiro floated by Silax and sniffed him. He squeaked happily and made himself comfortable on Silax's shoulder. "Seems he likes you." Kai giggled.
Kai shook her head. "There's another reason. This world is falling into Darkness. I want to find out who's doing it and stop them. Just like I always have. Though, this could be more of a challenge. I don't have much information on this world, and I have but one person to suspect: this Telren guy everyone talks about. But when I met him, he did not appear to be a huge threat. Of course, it he wasn't, I'm sure he'd be gone by now. So he has to be a difficult opponent." Kai stood up and Hiro floated by her shoulder. "I'll probably be here for a while. And when this is all over, I'd like my sister to come with me. Though, I know it's a big possibility that she'll want to stay here. I don't blame her, she's got great friends. So, chances are, I'll be leaving without her." Kai fiddle with her hair. "But that's okay........ I guess..." Hiro nudged her and she took him in her arms.
Kai was taken back, but she kept her eyes on Silax. "Like it? It's one of a kind." She put her hand on Hiro's head, trying to keep him calm. Hiro nuzzled against Kai's stomach, and made a pityful sound. "Shh, Hiro. Trust me." She whispered and held him a little closer.
