It doesn't qualify as math. ******s math if you finagle. Smudging was due to the left one being erased numerous times for various reasons and the opening and closing of the notebook its in, unavoidable basically. Faces aren't my thing but I'll keep that in mind. The one on the left looks kinda bad to me now but it really makes no difference what I think.

I'd abdicate. If I was failing I'd find someone or someones better than me and get out. If I've failed at that point it'd be pointless to go on further than my term of residence because I don't have all the answers and if doing what I thought was right was wrong I wouldn't know what else I'd be wrong about, you don't mess around with global politics and hope that even if you screw up that people will forgive you because you're setting yourself up to be Carter when you do.

    Savior

I actually like this well enough. The religious overtones, which are in no way understated in your warning, and all. I must say that I want to see what you do with this and won't try to interfere because it'd probably be for the worse. Well I'm sure you'll come up with something. My only suggestions are make the names significant in some way even if it is through a pun, just not too obviously I suppose and try not to get too caught up in any single notion or plot idea. I'm sure I was no help at all so I'll just stop making myself look silly.

About on my level. Anatomically needs a little work but is close. Depth isn't too great. Pose could be better. That's 'bout it.

I think that you need a fragile ego to be bothered by any of those things. That's just me but if you really want to be good at something you're going to have to accept that there are other people manifolds better than you and that you must compete with them before you get complacent. So in short you should be the one disparaging your own failure rather than letting someone else point out the obvious. It shows a lack of resolution and dedication when you're so easily put down and disheartened.

    The Brain

Though I wouldn't call the natural progression of conditioning and learning programming as you have, you are right that it is tantamount to it whether I'd like to call it that or not.

You also mentioned how people's brains are formatted differently, more or less efficiently, limited by chemical passages or whatever the case may be. I hadn't actually considered that, oddly enough, which I'm kinda feeling dumb for since brain chemistry is what allows the electricity to flow to begin with and controls the paths that are opened and closed like the circuit boards on a computer. So you can send different messages to a brain but without the capacity to organize it in any way the programming system I imagined would probably be impossible. So thanks for the catch.

    The Brain

I'm pretty sure most of you have heard about the world's most prominent chess player Garry Kasparov and his controversial match against IBM's Deep Blue in 1997. For those who haven't it's essentially the first time a computer was able to so soundly beat a chess master in an official six game match. There are still people arguing over the legitimacy of the match but I won't get into that now. I won't really say it's a measure of intelligence for a computer either because it was programmed to beat Kasparov by other chess masters. It was a feat to get a computer to a point where you could program it that far but it's just a natural progression really.

As a chess player it's kinda hard to admit that simple computing power and decision making algorithms are enough to beat what takes us years to learn much less master. So it got me thinking about how our brains are set up, how we learn, how we think and store memory, why some people are smarter even though we are so very similar. We use electrical signals just like computers and we only communicate with the outside world through our bodies which are essentially peripherals. So why is it we can program a computer and not a person?

Wouldn't it be interesting if we could send electrical signals through a persons brain and use that to essentially program them to be smarter or more or less something or other? The theory isn't too far fetched because you can manipulate a body with electricity and you can hook an mechanical arm up to a nervous system. It's only a few steps from going the other direction and computers are designed in our brains image so everything is more intuitive and similar to how we think to begin with. Maybe I'm just wrong, maybe I'm crazy.

Well, I was just kinda bored and decided to see what you guys thought about this kinda thing.

To answer your question. Yes, acid is generally used to refer to Lysergic Acid Diethylamide, a pretty odd hallucinogen as you probably know.

Also, weed or marijuana stays in the brain longer than alcohol does and produces a vaguely similar effect in the sense that it distorts perception but is really a whole different kind of animal in the specifics of its processes and effects. They are comparable as you said but by no means as similar as all that.

On a person to person basis it is different. An addictive personality will always mess up their own life whether it is through drugs, destructive relationships with others, or anything else and the long term health risks of either lead to you being just as dead whether it's your lungs object to working more or your liver. If I were to pick I'd go with alcohol because no matter what anyone says if you're drunk you may as well be running around with your brain on sleep mode. I know that small amounts of alcohol can be beneficial but in all honesty I know very few people who know what the word moderation means. People drink too much and act as if it acceptable to walk around slobbering drunk because all their associates are in a similarly foul state.

I have nothing good to say about smoking because it is disgusting and revolting. It also affects brain chemistry to an extent as well, that's what addiction is if anyone hadn't noticed, but still people can be forced to stop and reduce damages early. With the advent of constant "educational" adverts there are fewer smokers stateside; proof that it's possible to get people out of smoking before it kills them. Alcohol is a one shot deal in a certain amount of circumstances because it is so short term. You can't take back or prevent the damage of a knife fight or a car accident in the same way now can you?

So overall there are more health risks posed by mind altering substances that affect judgment. Even a usually moderately intelligent person can mess up a few times and make bad things happen that way. But in the end you and the dude next to you are just as dead in the end right?
