At this point giving specific advice isn't really going to help since everything is pretty much an overall thing so I'll just say that you need to keep practicing and learning how to write better than you can now. Constant improvement is important. I also see that you don't seem to be going where I didn't want this to go so I'm pleased.
I never thought of it like that before and I tend to disagree even now that I'm thinking of it like that. There is no third dimension in these and shadows are needed you're right, but I'm surprised you expected shadows from me. I guess that's a compliment, but in the end I never use shadows ever and probably won't be able to until I learn more about how they work. You notice how I never have a light source either, same principal, I'm just not knowledgeable enough and I have never learned formally so that's something I will work on in the future but I wouldn't expect too much.
