We could be looking at objective musical quality as dictated by music theory and how well people's opinions line up with the facts. So you can have, in a way, a best taste. Some people will just inevitably dispute this.

If you've read Catcher in the Rye, then you've seen the second worst example of character writing that I've read.
I was totally okay with The Scarlet Letter, actually. Most people don't like it but I thought it was pretty much painless. Like I'd never reread, but it's whatever. I didn't ever read The Crucible.
I'd tend to say all kinds. The writing style was bland, the events were for the most part blander. When they weren't, they were straight up infuriating or revolting. I haven't really read many books that qualify as bad, but this one makes me wretch more than even Catcher in the Rye.

It's a good enough picture for a speed draw. Like If you spent time on it you'd have the neck and left (from her perspective) shoulder a little more clean. Same with the right leg and left hand. Those are a challenge since foreshortening and detail are hard in this style so if you're trying to challenge yourself and improve this is a good exercise. I also think you should have gone with a solid color for the hair rather than leaving holes in it. It looks funny. I feel like there might be better ways to practice than this though, maybe.
No one should fucking complain about their fucking summer fucking reading unless they fucking had to put up with what I had to fucking put up with. I shit you not. If left unchecked this shit would burn a hole in the fabric of the universe and fucking cause th end of days. So know this. This is but a tiny fraction of my hatred put to pen. But a tiny sliver of knowledge I'mma drop on you like it's the smoldering hot elemental stew of a dying star. So let the buying be fucking ware. Never read Their Eyes Were Watching God. Never look upon this heinous existence without fearing and reviling its terrible power and horrendous contents. Burn all copies on sight. Allow not this shit to pass. This witchery can only lead to the downfall of humanity and all life as we know it. You may think I'm exaggerating my point, perhaps. Hyperbolizing and waxing dramatic. But you'd be wrong. Fuck. That. Shit. That book is so bad, I'd rather read about the fucking Holocaust. In fact I read Night as a pick me up afterwards. This book is so fucking terrible that my favorite character was a rabid dog that appeared on just one page because it was the only one with half the decency to try and kill those stupid fuckers. You still think you can hate? YOU KNOW NOT THE DEPTHS OF HATRED! YOU KNOW NOT WHAT HAS TRANSPIRED AND HOW IT HAS WARPED AND TWISTED THE SOULS OF MAN! DON'T COME TO ME WITH YOUR KIDDIE HATE AND COMPLAINTS ABOUT DUMB SHIT! THIS IS THE BIG LEAGUES AND AT THE TOP OF THOSE FUCKING LEAGUES YOU HAVE THIS ATROCITY, THIS AFFRONT, THIS FESTERING BOIL, THIS OOZING AFFLICTION ON THE FACE OF EXISTENCE! I WILL NOT HAVE THIS SHIT! IT SHALL NOT PASS!
You're good enough for me to hassle you about stuff like not integrating backgrounds into everything. Like I see these stark solid color backgrounds sometimes and that ocean is just kinda flat. When you do put in backgrounds with any variation at all you're doing it pretty well already so it's a matter of doing ti versus not doing it. Also, keep practicing the hands because you've gotten a little better but it's like not all the way there yet. Took all my effort to be even somewhat constructive and not just be another complimentfag.

While I do still have a hard copy of my fifth grade project sitting on my shelf about ten feet away I think I will pass on sharing. I try to move on from past phases of my writing and focus on the now rather than look back and realize either how bad I was or how little I've grown as a writer depending on the piece. I'm a forward looker. It really makes me a bit flighty and unreliable though. @Everyonewhowastalkingaboutmusic: Music is really good for intensifying or creating a mood to write in. Though, I just like having background noise most of the time. One time I did hear a song that I basically started a story around. Which kinda reminds me for no reason at all that I was surprised at how many people seemed to be motivated by the release of emotion. I dunno why it surprised me since it's pretty common, it's just kind of a foreign to me since I write for my own amusement or to amuse others more than anything else. Yeah, sorry for rambling like an idiot.
