Thank you. So many people misunderstand this. Religion isn't to explain how the world works, it may have done one day but we know better now. It's there to give people something else entirely. If there is anything I have faith in, it's humans. We're utterly detestable, horrible, stupid, mean, base and vile. But we're also capable of so much more. We can rise above that. We can rise above anything. You and I definitely won't live to see it, but we'll find out one day, because we are humans and humans are brilliant.
Actually, you can reduce this to pure science, though nobody likes doing it because science is based on the assumption that ll laws and theories can be overturned with new evidence. Because of the way that the scientific method works you need to find evidence for something for it to be considered viable and once it is viable you need to find evidence to the contrary. So, scientifically, there is no god yet. I personally don't see a reason for me to believe in something without proof because I agree with the steps taken in the scientific method. I can look to psychology to know that there are tons of reasons for other people to believe though, so there's no reason for me to argue against them. Given how many groups there are it's hard to believe they could be uniform. You're a very modern example of a Christian it seems by the way you talk. Modern meaning fairly mainstream and rational. It doesn't matter to some people. Some people feel the need for definite truth because they can't fathom unanswerable questions.

That's kind of how I imagine it. It sounds awfully troublesome. I really don't like dealing with people. I don't know any of my neighbors and I don't have many friends. The whole thing sounds like a big community project that teaches you that spending your time with people is good. I feel like this implies that people don't normally donate to causes or the poor as a matter of course. This listening to people thing still sounds awful.
Then what is it actually like? Do you all just walk around knowing that you believe in something?

Isn't religion a lot of effort? Don't you have to go to church or temple or mosque and pray X number of times a week and deal with a bunch of people and give them money? That's why I could never be religious in all honesty, there are all these commitments that I don't understand the purpose of.
