PS2 has a better overall library as well as its fair share of standouts but Gamecube has a couple of incomparable gems. I lived ten years without a Gamecube and getting one really didn't put a dent in my PS2 usage. That generation was so good. I'd recommend getting the Gamecube for the moment because they seem a little harder to come by in my area.
