I wish I knew about getting places. I always find myself at a loss when I talk to you about these things.

Eh, I get that you like the message, but it's a Macross message. Macross goes over humans and aliens not understanding each other then bonding over something that allows them to communicate in at least 2-3 of its iterations. So that's one thing that makes me not think, "Wow, this is interesting," but, "Wow, what a rip off." But Gundam has always been a very human series about humans and human dealings and I like that about it because there's a lot you can say and do with humans and a lot that has been said and done with humans. I also feel liek you've watched more Gundam than I have and less other anime so it doesn't feel as unoriginal and sloppy as it does when you compare it to standard Gundam as when you compare it to other series. I also think that you should never look at a movie like this as a stand alone because you're giving the writers a free pass to be bad writers.

I feel like the space combat is more interesting to some people than others because they really do carry over a lot of the same almost realistic tactical scenarios from their ground warfare to their space warfare even if it doesn't always look as cool as all that. But Awakening the Trailblazer was literally just them shooting wildly a lot.

Which is fine, but it wasn't just a little rushed they had to completely drop two subplots to finish the show on time. That's not a little rushed. That's, "We done fucked up," rushed.

Okay, so 00 is good. Well, S1 is good. S2 is alright but feels kinda sloppy and shittily paced with all of the sub plots and side characters and the conga line of your usefulness has ended with alpha bitch and red bitch and Anakin. But Awakening the Trailblazer just made me feel like, "Why?" The premise, while I admit was mentioned in the original work, just felt forced. The implication was that they didn't know when the aliens were coming, having them appear so soon after the events of the series seems kinda lame to start with. Then the aliens actually show up and they're pretty cool aliens but they only end up doing lame things and making for some really boring space combat. Then the ending was actually just the worst. The whole going to the alien homework and flowers thing was the most contrived nonsense possible. I get where they were going with it and the communication theme, but come on, try harder. Summarily, it just felt really sloppy and thrown together like, "We need to get SOMETHING... scratch that, ANYTHING, on paper so we can start animating, guys."

If I were to dissect it further I'd have to have fewer than four years between me an my only viewing of this film, but in the end it felt like Sci Fantasy not Sci Fi and they really just didn't do anything of note with the characters or the universe as a whole. It was just bad on all fronts.

Sunrise doesn't generally do bad dubs, but I'd only call 00 alright.

Awakening the Trailblazer is soooooooooooooooooooooooooobad no matter what language you watch it in.

That's cool. I kinda expanded on the differences for the benefit of the thread as a whole so it did really get off track, but I've had recent contact with both in varying degrees so I think I have a decent handle on everything.

I have to say, the poplar kids weren't really unpleasant to anyone in particular at my high school. It was only my personal experiences with frats that really made me think the way I do.

It was about how fucking horrifying a certain member's fucking avatar is. Seriously, that member should change it because it causes children and small animals to flee in fear and adults to wince and recoil at his presence.[DOUBLEPOST=1401858520][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, if we actually fought, Jimmy, I'd be in prison and you'd be in the ground. So be glad it's never gotten to that.

Magic is actually far better designed as a game than YuGiOh is though. I can't say either one is amazingly fun for me at this point, but just looking at them in terms of balance and forethought, Magic wins for sure. Sure some things like Jace the Mind Sculptor get through the future league because players are more creative with their decks than devs but almost everything that is in Magic is in there as it was intended and as such there are very few bans. YuGiOh on the other hand really isn't about maintaining balance or anything but more about constantly updating, which makes it a different kind of game entirely.

Secondly, Magic has changed a lot since we were children. They just are more consistent and work within their own rules more, it's not like they keep printing the same cards with different names over and over. They create new metas and news deck archetypes like they did with enchantment creatures and devotion decks. However, I do agree that YuGiOh is a more fluid game because they are less considerate of their past framework so it gives them the freedom to try new things that keep it fresh in its own way.

In the end, I don't really like ether, but I definitely prefer a game more rooted in a balanced framework than a volatile and unpredictable yet unbalanced system.

"A hugbox is a derogatory term for an environment, usually on the internet, in which a group with similar interests gathers to discuss topics in what they intend to be a safe, comforting, and confrontation-free environment.

What they intend to be a "safe space" almost always turns into a circle-jerk of forced consensus and ends with every member repeatedly expressing the exact same opinion to each other, no matter the topic. Since the community is founded on unconditional love and support no matter how much of a tool a person is, these communities tend to attract tools and rational and useful advice is usually a rarity.

Moderators of these groups are usually extremely militant and do not tolerate even the slightest dissenting opinion. Members of these groups are usually so hypersensitive that the moment a contrary opinion appears the entire community explodes in a total drama shitstorm." - urbandictionary.com
