It's a CGI action-fest that pretends to take itself seriously but does not develop into anything substantial. Oh, and it's not a Godzilla movie. I've got more than enough reason to dislike Pacific Rim.
"And what'll you do to Iris if I agree?" What did they even want with his child? The word Nephilim was something he knew very well. It was an especially popular word in works of fiction. Maybe his son...or daughter...or both if Iris was carrying more than one was more important than an angel. Human or not, it was still his flesh and blood. "You want my child, don't you?" Why else would Temeluchas have brought it up? As much as he loved Iris and wished that she would return to full health, it would be for nothing if anything happened to their unborn. He knew she would rather die, as would he, than to allow them to do something like this. "That's not going to happen."
Glad Grown Ups 2 won. Haven't seen either movie but I have extremely low expectations for Pacific Rim even after everything I've heard about it.
He had no power to heal Iris. That wasn't something he wanted to hear. It wasn't good that the powers he had at the moment weren't his own but rather just abilities that had been given. Temeluchas's brutal ritual was definitely not a kickstart to his powers. Speaking of which, she hadn't been too far off as Danel called for her to show herself. "Long time no see, hässlich." It was only fair to insult her given the circumstances. Besides, there was no guarantee that being polite would make her any more helpful especially after all the threats he had been tossing around. "Danel tells me that there's something I can do to help my fiancé." Henrik narrowed his eyes at the angel who had torn off a chunk of his arm just days earlier, now directing his words to her. "I don't see how making us suffer helps you. It'll only make me turn on you. What? Do you think Iris is some kind of bargaining chip to you? If she dies I'll hunt you down. If you think I'll join you while she's still ill that isn't happening either." He didn't have the strength to back up his threats, but they could have killed him and Iris long ago. They wanted him to be willing to cooperate in some way. Henrik just had to make sure that they knew the only way he'd not interfere with whatever they had planned was if Iris was alive and well. 'I just need to play this smart.' His eyes shifted down towards the mist at his feet. 'And not lose my temper.' Finally, with another push of sheer will was he able to get the mist to vanish. "I'm not going to be your puppet."
If there was one thing Henrik did not want to hear it was the fact that he was the one causing Iris to grow ill. The powers he had gained were toxic to her. He growled and swatted at the mist swirling about him in an attempt to dismiss it to no avail. He could hardly afford to pay attention to Danel's brief lapse of attention. 'Go away dammit!' The mist only grew along with his frustration. "Is there a way to bring her back to full health?" Henrik's eyes stayed focused on the mist as he began to will it away. If it was fueled by his anger then surely he could force it to dissipate. He took in a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. He was not about to become a slave to his emotions. The mist lowered and lessened considerably but it did not go away. "I'm an angel, aren't I?" Henrik looked back up at Danel. "If I have the power to make her sick doesn't it mean I have the power to heal her?" He was not the most religious man but in he was raised Catholic. He knew enough about angels and the like to come to the conclusion that they were good. At least, that's what they were supposed to be. The all-too famous story of Lucifer(Satan or Sataniel to some) and Temeluchas were obviously exceptions to this. "You know, it sounds like you're not too fond of her either." Henrik commented, the mist now barely at ankle height. It wasn't going away but at least it was a start. A thought came to mind. "Chief Angel of Torment, huh? I wonder how she'll like it when the tables are turned." Henrik paused. "My full strength should be enough to kill her, right?" Temeluchas drew first blood. It was his job to make sure she paid for it.
That voice, Henrik knew who it belonged to. He wasn't surprised that breaking the stone would actually summon Danel though he was disappointed it worked. It would have been so much easier to believe Danel was just some crazy person who had no idea what he was talking about. Henrik looked down at Iris as she slept before going to the front door just in time to see black mist vanish. It seemed Danel was growing impatient. It also meant that the mist could probably be used for more than just restraining someone. Though it seemed like something that might come in handy the thought only reminded him of the girl from before. Henrik opened the door and spoke before Danel could get out another word on his own "decision". "The only choice I've made is to allow my anger and curiosity to cloud my judgment for just an instant." He growled. "One of your friends visited and thought my arm was lunch." Henrik stepped outside and closed the door behind him. "Now outside of her turning me into an amateur magician, Iris got sick not long after Teme-whatever-her-name-was attacked me." He crossed his arms. "[I need answers. If anything happens to her because of all this angel shit then I'll just have to test the limits of these powers on that bitch, you, and everyone else you're working with.]" As Henrik spoke, he reverted to using German, his native language without realizing it. Black mist began to rise again from his body.
Henrik pulled the covers over Iris as she slept. The doctor didn't know what was wrong and only told them to come back if the situation worsened. Thirteen pounds. That was how much Iris had lost in just a few days. Her nightmares had worsened, she was getting paler...she was ill and the doctor had nothing useful to say about it. Henrik clenched his fists. He hadn't been feeling the same ever since that angel attacked him. Iris got weaker while he grew stronger. He was sure it wasn't some kind of "vampiric" effect. Touching Iris didn't cause him to get stronger. No, he had a different feeling when it came to whatever powers were stirring inside him. It would have taken others much longer, several days longer, to even come close to reaching this conclusion but the end result was the same. Henrik had no idea why Iris was getting sick. He was changing because of that crazy angel and Iris soon began to grow ill afterwards but was it just a coincidence or something more? He had no way to test his hypothesis without putting Iris's health in further danger and even if he did figure out what was causing it, he still had no way to make it better. Or maybe it was normal complications. Henrik was cautious and borderline paranoid, traits that were polar opposites to Iris's more trusting attitude and traits that were only intensified now that she was pregnant. He had too much to lose to not feel this way. He shook in anger as he sat on the bedside. 'It's not right. She shouldn't be feeling this way.' Black mist began to creep up from his legs but he paid no attention to it almost as if it was entirely natural. Henrik's eyes fixed on the stone Danel had given him. Henrik refused to call someone like that over. Besides, would Danel even help him? What would it cost if Danel agreed? What if he just turned on Henrik and hurt Iris? As his frustration built up the rock split in two by some unseen force. Somewhere, deep down, Henrik had made his choice.
"You children are making things harder than they need to be." Taras, the man who had thrown Kendric around like a rag doll back at the tunnels, the man who had been in charge with protecting Wendel's own president, was standing before Angela, Luna, Zelos, and Ayer. There had been no warning of his sudden appearance. As a powerful Biokinetic his speed was far beyond what normal eyes could see. He had no problem being out in the open. He was one of the "good guys" in the public's point of view. Attacking the children now would merely be seen as protecting the people of Tasnica and its visitors. "Don't you dare run from me, kiddies." He vanished in the blink of an eye, reappearing behind the group to stand just a step behind the two sisters(Angela and Luna). The two did not have time to scream. Two vehicles came crashing down at both sides of Alayah, Rogan, Julia, and Meara's group. "Not so fast, brats." Nadine landed on the side of one of the now-wrecked vehicles in front of the group having jumped down from a building above. She looked at the bunch of students. Immediately she could tell that these were not the ones who had stolen the stone. There was nothing to be gained here...but she could send a message to the student who had taken what belonged to them. "I've taught you kids better than to steal." She extended her hand in the direction of the students. Julia was lifted off her feet by Nadine's magic."Do me a favor and find the one who took the stone." Before any of the student's could react, there was a sickening snap. Julia went limp and fell to the ground. "Or else I'll have to punish more of you." Angela and her sister Luna were both on the ground, dead. Taras rubbed his palms together as if he had done nothing more than take out the trash. "We'll be keeping an eye on you kids. Every day that passes without the stone being in our possession, another one of you will die. Do you understand?" He spoke to the remaining two(Zelos and Ayer). Kendric would have answered Celeste and Grace but something far off took his attention off of what they had said. It was faint but he knew what he felt. He sensed two sources of power peak briefly before vanishing from his "mental radar". One of them was definitely Nadine and the other he was sure to have been Taras. The memory of the man throwing Kendric around like nothing caused him to shiver. He did his best to not visibly show his concern in case the others did not sense it as well. He only hoped that whatever remained of their number would regroup soon. 'I'm sorry everyone.' He clenched his fists, knowing he could have done more to have prevented so many needless deaths. "Tomorrow morning, we'll go to my father's home and stay there until we can sort things out and make a plan. He...he'll make sure we're safe." Mya had a plan at least. Something he wasn't fond of as many would still be looking for them. It sounded like it was worth a shot though. He crossed his arms and bit his lip. "No." He simply stated. "We can't all go. What if your father can't help? Or if the police is just waiting there for us?" He paused. "Or worse. Taras is the head of Wendel's military. Nobody would believe our story over his. He'd probably kill a few of us before we even got there." Kendric's last sentence only reminded him of what he sensed just seconds earlier. Was that why Taras and Nadine raised their power for an instant? To kill? He kept this to himself to keep from worrying the others. They needed their sleep. "Zauriel, Celeste, Grace, and Drei can head out of the city tomorrow. I'll go with you," he was referring to Mya, "to your father's place tomorrow in case things go wrong." And this time, he had no intentions of letting more die. OOC: HoT is out of the RP(hence the slaughter of his characters). As a recap for the groups and who's still alive: Group 1 Kendric, Zauriel, Drei, Mya, Grace, and Celeste Group 2 Ayer and Zelos Group 3 Alayah, Rogan, and Meara Group 4 Alastair, Poke, Luke, Berial, and Xane. "But Arch! Group 2 and Group 3 are tiny!" After you(Groups 2 and 3) have your reactions to what's happened, those two groups can meet up and join together. Sorry I haven't posted in so long and for the odd group balancing! But at least group numbers will be nearly even again!
Looks really good so far. Love the teleporting ability.
Looky what I've got here:
"Heroes Return" The only Insomniac game that would fit that description is Ratchet and Clank. So this makes me excited. Maybe it'll be made for next-gen.
"Do we still have some of that cake?" "I ate the last piece yesterday." "Really?" "You didn't complain when I told you I'd do it." Henrik closed the fridge, disappointed that his minor urge for sugar would have to go unsatisfied that night. The rest of the kitchen was bathed in darkness now that the fridge had been shut. The light bugged his eyes. He began to wonder if he had been getting sick as it wouldn't be surprising considering he once had a chunk of his arm torn off by that crazy angel. Maybe she was diseased. It would be expected with all those bandages she had. Or maybe it was all part of what she did to him. 'Am I stronger in the dark? Weaker in the light? No...that'd be too cliche.' There was no one to answer his questions. Of course, there was still that stone Danel had given him but he wasn't about to give into curiosity and break it to summon him. "You should have shared that last bit with me. Five year anniversary cake and you ate it without me." Henrik headed towards the bedroom where Iris had been doing some late night reading. "I had no idea it meant so much to you. Do you want to make another? We still have enough to-" "I was kidding. But another cake does sound nice." Henrik sat next to Iris and leaned over to look at what she was reading. "Seriously?" It was a book he managed to get published. A physics book of course as he was hardly a creative writer. It detailed some of his own work and several things he was pushing to get accepted to become accepted theories. No university used the book for classes as it was too specific a textbook to use but their library did have it in stock. All two copies. "You have a funny way of writing." Iris commented. Henrik took the book from her and placed it on the nightstand at his side. "You have a funny way of reading." Henrik turned off the lamp Iris had on. They soon went to sleep after a bit of poor humor.
It is my birthday today. Give me presents.
8D Thanks jd. PEOPLE ACTUALLY REMEMBERED.
Looks great. I've never played a GTA game before. I think this'll change my mind. Though I'll be waiting to see if Rockstar will port this to next-gen or not.
The person doing the blocking would have to agree to never post anything relevant then. If someone blocks someone else, the blockee would not be able to see news posted by the blocker. If I suddenly felt the need to block a lot of people, a large portion of the information regarding FFXV would disappear to them in that thread.
"Do you want to go to the doctor?" Henrik moved his hand down towards her back as he closed the faucet. "No, it's just morning sickness." Iris stayed hunched over the sink as she took deep breaths. "It's the evening." He knew that it didn't have to affect her in the morning but he had hoped the joke would at least lightened the mood. Iris turned her head and frowned at him instead. Henrik shrugged in response. "How about I get you some crackers?" That was something Iris smiled at. Henrik nodded and left Iris to take a breather as he went into the kitchen. There was a small pack of crackers already waiting on the counter as they had bought some earlier. It was actually Henrik's favorite snack but this time around he wouldn't be getting any. He picked it up and the entire row broke within the pack between his fingers. "...I barely touched it. Maybe they're making these things thinner. Or I don't know my own strength." He chuckled at the thought of breaking crackers so easily being a sign of strength. Though it did raise a question he had been trying to avoid. 'What limits do my powers have?' He had still been getting violent urges, especially after yesterday where it took all his self-restraint to keep from killing the one who tried mugging him and Iris. When he punched that attacker he felt as if he held back when he did so, as if he had enough strength to kill the thug with a single blow. Of course the thought of using such strength now was alien to him. How could he summon that power? Was it through anger? Was there really a trigger or could he just get better through practice? Staring at the crackers, Henrik found himself only coming up with more questions that made him uncomfortable. Henrik shook his head and went back over to Iris who was sitting on the bed. She looked pale...paler than usual anyways. He opened the package and held out a broken cracker towards Iris. "Don't go killing our snacks, Henrik." "Not making any promises." He sat next to her. "You were tossing and turning when I woke you up. Had another nightmare? I could check the closet tonight for any boogeymen." "That's not funny." Iris took the pack of broken crackers from Henrik. "You looked like you had a nightmare too. Do you remember it?" "Yeah. Same one as the day before." Iris tilted her head. He hadn't told her about that dream yet. "Well..."

Oh look, 12 minutes of Dead Dunes gameplay. Combat still looks barely any faster than the previous games. Without going the full ARPG route combat is limited by the ATB system and animations look stiff.
