We don't lie low when we have no info. We don't wait for non-straws to fall out of the sky. We grasp those straws. We see how people react to your grasping. Pull everyone into the drama. Get content. Now you have ropes. Grasp the ropes you revealed. That goes for @Bite the Dust as well. And anyone else who wants to play for their own personal team. We will lose without your active help at digging things up that are not already in the light. I have trouble believing you are truly this dense, so we'll see how you flip.
I think we are in a special kind of pickle. If The Fuk? is mafia and my theory is correct, it looks like he took this risk knowing that it could backfire. He and the rest of his team are avoiding the subject altogether to avoid giving away more info away in the case of his lynch. I believe it was a suicidal gamble. Had he succeeded in killing me, he would be in the same situation he is in right now, but would look even worse. We can discern several things from his behavior. He doesn't care if he dies. He doesn't care if he helps town. He doesn't care to answer questions. He doesn't care to ask questions. He doesn't care if he is honest. He doesn't care if people call him out for being dishonest. As far as we know, the only thing he cares to do is see me dead. If I were mafia with him, I would not defend him. He is a lost cause. No reason other mafia should go down with him. Here's something interesting. Allow me to take myself out of the situation and treat myself as any other player. If your reasoning has value, then the same could be said of Makaze. No one has come to their defense. Nearly everyone finds them at least a little suspicious. They faced wagons twice and even faced a soft-lynch without a fuss. If they were Mafia, wouldn't someone come to their defense? Wouldn't we see fewer votes for them? The Fuk? has had a lot of people say they don't find him suspicious. He has had two votes at most throughout the game. Only one player finds them really suspicious. Why did his case stand out over Makaze's to you?
That gif clipping.
That's what I was pointing out. The Fuk? can't possibly have a reason to be as single-minded as he is.
I want to point something out. There is no way that The Fuk? could know my alignment with the Reporter dead... Unless he is Mafia and knows that my alignment is Town. On top of the fact that I have not visited anyone, making the Tracker and Watcher useless, he would probably have presented hard evidence of my alignment if he were Town and had it by now. His callousness towards being killed for his conviction shows that much. I think we can safely conclude that his certainty is a gut instinct at best, intentional mudslinging at worst.
Double entendre intended.
She was off by a day again. There are 38 hours left as of now.
I played it a little bit last night. I'm terrible at it.
You're not expected to defend yourself at length. That would be a waste of time. You're expected to answer questions asked to you. Questions like the ones you just avoided from me and other players about your other opinions.[DOUBLEPOST=1409792799][/DOUBLEPOST]The Fuk?, why should we believe that my theory is incorrect? Have you done anything to prove it incorrect? Do you plan to do anything to prove it incorrect? Is your only purpose in this game to get rid of me, or do you have something else to contribute? Do you have any questions for me? Do you have questions for others? What will you do if you do kill me? What is your game plan? Depends on who you play with. It's hard no matter what with most people keeping to themselves.[DOUBLEPOST=1409795834][/DOUBLEPOST] Spoiler Logic critique: The sheep are too many for that reasoning to be useful. Even several of the 'active' players are effectively sitting on their thumbs with no strong hunches. Furthermore, the most active people have been suspected the most. The mafia have every reason to lie low. If we began seriously policy lynching sheepy people, chances are we would kill most of town off and get no info for our trouble doing it. Unfortunately, town don't care enough about that to avoid it. Sheepiness stands out in a game with a well coordinated and active town. In a game like this, sheepiness could be a sign of timidity, self-doubt, impressionability, mafia incentives, or fear of critique. At least half of the players are sheep or inactive altogether. Nearly everyone is being mafia-like. In that case, being town-like is the opposite of hiding. As you can see with me and other players like What?, it's more risky to do something town-like than to do something mafia-like. We got a target on our backs while the sheep did not. Assuming the remaining players are divided like this (liberal with the town-likes): 5 town-likes 9 mafia-likes If people decide to lynch town-likes at random, there is a 1/5 chance that you will be killed as mafia. If people decide to lynch mafia-likes at random, there is a 1/9 chance that you will be killed as mafia. Killing a town-like, be they mafia or town, provides town with ample info about other players. Killing a mafia-like, be they mafia or town, provides town with minimal info about other players. Why would mafia hide within the minority when it means a higher chance of being killed? Why would they hide within the group that gives town more info if they are killed? I think mafia would have to be a gambling mood to hide within the town-likes when the mafia-likes are a majority. Even so, it's possible they felt like gambling. There is an element of human choice. Just like how you thought it might be smarter to be town-like as mafia, mafia might make the same mistake. Mafia may not be playing the numbers. Even if mafia decide not to play the numbers, it isn't correct to assume that they will go anti-logic without good reason. [DOUBLEPOST=1409796805][/DOUBLEPOST]Sorry for any errors I can't fix in the above.
Ban?
I find The Fuk? highly suspicious. If you aren't familiar with my reasons, they are: He posted, but contributed very little. He voted Krowley after a soft lynch without offering reasons. He suspected me on flimsy reasons. He didn't ask questions. He didn't answer questions directed at him. He misquoted me. He tried to gloss over the misquote instead of admitting to it saying it didn't matter since it was in line with what he was trying to say. He spent his energy accusing me instead of getting new info from me throughout our conversation. He dropped off the map once he said his piece about me. The things with the Krowley vote are all minor and explainable, but they made my brow raise initially. They are what put him on my radar in the first place on Day 1. The reason he gave for voting Krowley past a soft lynch was that someone else could unvote at any time. One question lingers: He knew he had a full day left. Why didn't he wait to see if someone would unvote first? The flimsy reasons are to be expected at that early stage in the game, but the reasons he presented were... On a whole new level. His not asking questions raises questions of its own. It raised my suspicions because it implied that he needed no further info. He seemed to think that info gathering was waste of time. All that was left, to him, was taking me down. Usually acting like this would be a decent tactic to get information, but as things dragged on it became clear he wasn't fishing for reactions. He just wanted me gone. He didn't even know my reads for the day, and didn't care to ask. Why would he be so single-minded about lynching someone he hadn't gotten info on? I don't just believe that the misquote was intentional. I absolutely believe it is impossible for the misquote to be unintentional. The misquote did not match any post by anyone, let alone me. There is absolutely no way that it got there without being handwritten by him. The rest of the quotes are real. Some of them longer. Why would someone who went out of their way get ad verbatim versions of longer replies make up a shorter one? The way he handled a challenge made me sure it was dishonest on top of intentional. I challenged him on the misquote and pointed out how it was impossible for it to be a typo, simple mistake, or mistaken identity. I gave him a chance to come clean about it. He didn't. He said it didn't matter if he faked it, since the rest of my quotes pointed to what he faked anyway. I call that for the bullshit it is. What would have happened if no one caught on to it being a fake quote? As the conversation went on, he had several chances to gather info on me via questions. Instead of taking those opportunities, he focused on passive ways to convince others to lynch me like noting the word 'scum'. Why not get more info on your target when you have their attention? Why regurgitate existing info instead? Finally, he has been prodded my multiple people over the past several days since his case on me. Why the absence? It is giving me a bad feeling because it makes a lot of sense for him to run away after failing to kill me. It's the best way for him to fly under the radar until he has another target to take down or until he can confirm a lynch on me. In summary, The Fuk? has shown a singular will to take me down at the cost of all other possible ways to actually hunt scum. He has proven himself to be callously dishonest. I say dishonest because he misquoted me in a way that could not possibly have been an accident, and I say callously because he has shown that he has no remorse for misquoting me. He has hidden from the spotlight ever since failing in his singular objective. I also believe that the death of Trigger is closely tied to this attack from him. Trigger was the only person in the game who might have defended me on short notice. He was the only who said that my aggressive play was a good thing. I believe The Fuk?'s purpose that day was to neutralize me as a threat, and Trigger's death was a strategic choice in making that easier. This theory explains why Trigger died that night and why The Fuk? conveniently did nada before and after attacking me.[DOUBLEPOST=1409715668][/DOUBLEPOST]Ninja'd. The absence part after the attack is explained, it seems. I forgot to vote. My bad. ##Vote: The Fuk?
Who am I?
True about default, but I've seen you half-heartedly prod a lot of people by simply saying that you have a gut instinct against them. The only defense to that is, 'I have a gut instinct that I'm town.' It's easier to just ignore it than to get into a petty argument about the value of your gut instinct. I don't get what you're hoping for when you do that. I still think The Fuk? is by far the most suspicious person in the game. Every day they don't post makes me more sure of my read. I believe they are trying to lay low after being caught once.[DOUBLEPOST=1409686286][/DOUBLEPOST] Can you explain this reasoning? How do you believe mafia profit from inciting wagons? Why are mafia more likely to incite a wagon than sheep on it? Would you be more likely to incite it or sheep on it, if you yourself were mafia?[DOUBLEPOST=1409689976][/DOUBLEPOST]If no one else presents a case within the next five hours, I'll make the first move yet again. Please be more assertive today.
Who is the protagonist?
Noticed how virtually no one has taken you seriously. Almost no one you have said you found suspicious has replied to you aside from me. There a few others who are facing the same thing, but you're the most jumpy. Your current tactic is to poke them and then run away, then poke another player. That kind of pressure doesn't exactly strike fear into the target. If I were mafia, all I would I have to do is ignore it. I know you'll move onto someone else on your own. It doesn't invite a particular type of reply, either. Even if they do reply to your suspicion, you get less info from their general defense than you would get from the answers to any number of questions: Why do you think X happened? Why did you vote for Y when you did? What do you think is the best way to hunt mafia as a group? Asking even one of these forces them to reply in some way. Ignoring a direct question is suspicious. Hoping for a reply is a gamble at best. Don't pull your punches. Don't soak your firsts in self-doubts and "maybe I'm wrong"s. If you want to test for reactions, make sure you get them in the first place. That means asking direct questions that can't be avoided easily.
I think what she is saying makes a lot of sense. It's no reason for suspicion. Focus... Focus... You could take your own advice about haste. Midnight in particular has a lot going for her as a town. If she has suspicious activity, that makes her a neutral read instead of a scum read. Important questions to ask yourself: What do you gain by saying you find her suspicious? Did you ask her a question? Did you get info from other people? What was your intention in voicing your views aloud? Think about the end result of everything you say. If you find some part of it is just fluff to show that you're thinking, you're probably not doing much good. Don't miss the forest for the trees.
We could have pressed people for info before the day ended. Consolidation only helps town if it's to avoid a No Lynch. Hard lynches are rarely better than more posts.[DOUBLEPOST=1409628511][/DOUBLEPOST] Midnight is anxious to find out my alignment. She's not wrong in her reasoning. Once the rest of the players know my alignment, all of my posts and all of the attacks against me will be worth something. It will be more than arguing. It will be evidence. Does that make sense?
I think his move there was because he saw no room for debate and wanted to move things along. He was hardly the worst offender on that wagon. Everyone who voted past a soft-lynch was bandwagoning. I suspect he wanted to see if default was mafia or not so that he could push people to kill me today if he turned up town. I'd like to hear his thoughts on 'what happened', since he was curious. @Princess ?[DOUBLEPOST=1409627649][/DOUBLEPOST]@Princess ♥ ? * My bad.
It's true that killing the Reporter doesn't help us in the way of information about mafia, but it is still a win for Town. It's a day we didn't kill our own. Between getting rid of a wishy washy town and getting rid of the Reporter, I'd rather it be the Reporter. I'd like some opinions from several people who dropped off the map. @The Fuk?, who are your top reads other than me? After that, am I still your top read? @cstar, who are your top three suspicions and why? @Mish, you've been watching the thread for quite a while. What are your most concrete opinions?
